_Grand Canyon_ should've been nominated for Best Picture - one of the best films of the 1990s. And _The Rapture_ is a dreamy, chilling masterpiece.

I remember seeing Man In The Moon and coming out thinking that the young girl (Reece Witherspoon) is going to be a star. Also has a wonderful musical score.

"The Rapture" is one of those films i just stumbled on back in the early 90s on cable one night, had never heard of it and had no idea what it was. i ended up really liking it, found it very interesting. but biblical stuff often is even though i am completely not a religious person.
always liked "Grand Canyon", and not that it has anything to do with anything but when i was very young my father and i use to take road trips there all the time, and through the painted dsert and petrified forest. very very faded but good memories.

The Raphel action figure really brings the whole background together.

I wonder why they hated The Silence of the Lambs so much

Ebert gave The Silence of the Lambs a thumbs up when it initially was released. Yes, it didn’t make his top ten, but over time, he included it in his “Great Movies” series.
Gene did not like the film. And here is the review where he gives his reasons.
The word hate does not come from either of their mouths. Let’s not assume hate.

Honestly, my favorite film of '91 is Eric Red's Body Parts. T2 would be my #2.

can't believe Wall-E became the first animated film since Beauty & The Beast to get nominated for Best Picture.
The Lion King & Toy Story should've gotten nominated.

T & L was good, The Rapture was fascinating, Grand Canyon was worthy, but not an animation lover.

Funny how Ebert couldn't have been more wrong...singletons career went nowhere, like sixth sense guy, singletons was a one hit wonder.

Hearts of Darkness was the movie that reminded Siskel how much he loves movies? This from someone who hated 99% of films for stupid little petty personal reasons.
Lets be honest, he was appallingly bad at his job, and got it wrong far too often.

something tells me he disagreed with you on some garbage movie you enjoyed and now you hate him

    • @martinhavelock5106
      @martinhavelock5106 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@rayray66 No, it's just an objective opinion after watching him review hundreds of films. And I'm in England, so I never saw these when originally broadcast, it was never shown over here. I'm just catching up with them now.

Well i didn´t agree with him on all of the movies but to call him appallingly bad at his job tells us more about you, silly little grumpy man.
