  • Traditional Maritime Skills project sets out to capture the skills unique in wooden boat building.
We continue to follow the building of the Grayhound which is being led by experienced boat builder Chris Rees with a small team of local shipwrights is a 63 foot scale replicate of the 1776 3 masted lugger.
The short film covers the building of the Grayhound at Southdown near Millbrook, Cornwall.
I have dug out the final part of the build of the Grayhound, I initially processed the images back in July 2013. So it could stand on its own, I recapped the project key moments at the beginning then continue the timelapse film.
We had camera problems which means that sadly a few periods of the build was poorly covered. I managed find stills to fill some of the gaps and luckily I had a second camera running as the vessel was moved out of the shed.
