    Loved this! I am forever spoiled to great catfish having lived in Mississippi. When you visit, make sure a good local catfish house is on your agenda! Complete with hush puppies, greens, fried pickles, tea and cornbread from an iron skillet. Soul food worth blessing!! I’m hungry just thinking about it...

    I’ve lived in coastal MS for the past 6 years and I got 11/12! I surprised myself. 😂 I knew MS bottled Coca-Cola but thought it was in the early 1900’s. Now I want to make the 20 min drive to see that icky 102 lb. shrimp display.

    "Cracker" was an old name for farmers that drove their mule drawn wagons on the road to market. Their bullwhips made a "cracking" sound. "Redneck" was another name for a farmer who worked his own fields without slaves.

    First female mail carrier.
    Had to be at least prior to 1880s.
    There was a black female mail carrier in the West.
    She one of her jobs was a stagecoach driver.
    I don't remember her name. But she drove stage from like Dallas to Phoenix.
    I think she was also as far north as the Dakotas.

    The first heart transplant was performed at University of Mississippi Medical Center by Dr. James D Harvey, but unfortunately it was unsuccessful. Also, fun fact they used a primate heart for the donor heart which is probably why it was unsuccessful.

    When I was a kid in the late 60’s early 70’s I went to see my Maternal Great Grandmother in NY State. Everyone I met referred to me as a Rebel or Cracker (said with a snide tone) when they found I was from Georgia.

    I liked the format, but could have done with better explanation of the answers.
    More Morgan, please. Ryan's enthusiasm is a pleasure to see.
    Shoes used to be mass-produced in ambidextrous, not lefts and rights. The change came about during a war, when the army didn't want to wait while soldiers broke-in their boots.

    Growing up we called native Floridians "Crackers". I thought it was going to be Florida. "Crackers" was the name they gave to the ranchers that originally came to Florida. They used a whip to herd their cows and these whips made a cracking sound. Hence the name. False, Thomas Merton was a monk from Gethsemini Abbey in Kentucky.

      I’ve never heard of it but I can’t say for sure. Some places are unincorporated communities or are former cities that got absorbed like Mississippi City.

    Shoes were made for a person.
    Then shoes were premade and they would just tie them together. Sometimes hanging, sometimes in a bin, and sometimes on a shelve.
    Boxing shoes is really a new thing. And its going out as well.
    Go to Walmart. Are there more shoes in boxes or hanging up? It use to be you go to the store. ( 70s and 80s) all shoes were in boxes.

    I was in Biloxi once , and visited a marine animal refuge center where I played ball with dolphins! My view of reality was forever changed that day.
    Ps. There was a bad hurricane after that…Katrina, I think…and I definitely mourned my dolphin brothers and sisters.

    I still contest that Coca-Cola was invented in Columbus Georgia at John Pemberton‘s house. Many of the residents claimed they had drank the same formula here before he took it to Atlanta. A fountain drink from the fountain city. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
