Everything u said about Mercury AK, is spot on. My daughter has this in her chart in 10th house in Libra, and she is super intelligent. Her professors back in college used to love the way she writes and speaks. Her explanation on things is so beautiful that everybody wants to listen to her speak. During an argument, she would never shout or lose her temper, but remains cool and ends up winning any argument easily ...😂.

agree ... despite venus atmakaraka, my mercury is in jyestha 9th house and trikona nakshatras are ruled by mercury ... the opponents end up shouting at me and at that point they are defeated.

As a Venus atmakaraka I would completely agree about the balance. I’ve never heard that approach before but I highly agree and see it lived in my life. I am constantly battling my extremes and am happiest when balanced. When I was young I was very rajastic and extreme. I would indulge often and it had me ruined and depressed and at my very worst. Then I went the opposite and became nearly ascetic and it developed an eating disorder. Then I learned balance. And it’s been a life changer. Anytime I eat something not very nutritious , I make sure to eat very nourishing food the next day or two. Etc. it’s so true.

I never heard of Ketu Atmakaraka, but it's interesting....In which tradition is it also taken? And how do you know, if it is Rahu or Ketu, because they are on the same degree in their signs? Or do you work with houses that are not equal?

Very interesting talk! I have three questions based on this talk however, if you or anyone in the comments section can answer?
1) What about AMK and ATMK being inimical to each other? Sun and Saturn, Moon and Venus etc. Do these indicate added challenges for the native?
2) What about the D60 placement? I understand the D9 indicates the true nature of the D1 placement, but D60? Example Saturn Aries in D1 and Libra in D60. Or Venus in Sag in D1 and Virgo in D60. Do these have any significance?
3) If Rahu is the strongest at 15 degrees, and I see a chart where the native has Rahul at 29. I minus 15 and get 14. But they also have Moon at 29 degrees. In this case, does Rahu take precedence?

Thank you Kshanati, Navjeet (looking lovely) and team (SAT pranaam to every1)- never thought or read of AK in this regard especally with Jup in Pisces as mine. I was popular in school as a sortof quiz whizkid even though i did it for fun and love for trivia (merc mars in gemni 5H) - in my high school (around age 16) i asked what is the point of this knowledge and "knowing" and never since particed in anything GK or trivia -still enjoy trivia but catch myself if it gives me ego about it being know it all or ' ur really know so much about stuff' .
Great Video Ksanati, Just a quick Question...Isn't Rahu and Ketu are in same degree's always as they are exactly 180 degrees apart? If that is the case how can we differentiate between Rahu and Ketu as AK?
How can Ketu be the Atmakaraka? If I know it right, when people include Rahu and Ketu to this system they include Rahu. I didn't know they can also include the Ketu. But how can we detect someone's Atmakaraka is Rahu or Ketu as both of them in the same degree?

My Saturn is retrograde in Libra (Vishaka) in 2H. It’s very close to the ascendant degree at 29:43. Everything is you said was pretty accurate minus the discipline. Is it bc I have Ketu (vishaka) and Pluto there? In Navamsa, Saturn goes to into Gemini (punavasu).

With my limited knowledge of astrology, I have been made to understand that Ketu is never included in the list of Jaimini karaka’s. Look forward to amtyakaraka and darkaraka series as well.

If the Ak planet in the nakshatra of Sun, and sun is in the nakshatra of Rahu. Then what consequences effects to soul purpose?
Since Rahu and Ketu have the same degrees, when you minus 15 degrees you wind up with both as the Atmakarka. Are both the two halves of the Atmakarka or do you choose one? How?

No, perhaps it is because this "astrologer"'s description of Venus as AK incorrect.
My atmakaraka is Venus 18:26. Venus is around 26 degrees of aquarius. Sun is my darakaraka. Sun is in the 1st degree of pisces. Both Venus and Sun are placed in the Purva Bhadrapada Nakshatra. Can I consider a conjunction between Venus (AK) and Sun (AmK)?
I have the ascendant around 20 degrees of libra. Venus rules the 1st and the 8th houses. Venus is in the 5th house. Venus falls in Taurus Navamsa. I feel myself very balanced with venusian things.

from my observation and feeling it is very easy to see the atmakaraka of a person it shines out of them. If a male has moon as his atmakaraka he is gonna be soft, not a fighter/leader, but a follower ( it is not something he has to try for, it's his nature)
Which is more influential atmakaraka or ascendant lord, when both are placed in their own signs and have mutual aspects, and both are malefic?
Please do the same for darakaraka it is needed very much
I AM CAPRICORN ASCENDANT WITH SUN IN 8TH HOUSE AND SATURN IN 2ND HOUSE. SUN IS ATMAKARAKA AND SATURN IS AMATYAKARAKA. SUN IS ASPECTED BY SATURN AS WELL AS KETU FROM 4TH HOUSE. I USUALLY DONT HAVE LOT OF CONFIDENCE AND I GET INTO STRESS EASILY.

Rahu and Ketu are 180 degrees apart. So if you substract the same amount from them, they are still 180 degrees apart. How do you determine if AK is Rahu or Ketu?
