You can hear a lot of emotion in his voice in the track "last to know". I loved this band since the early days and at 33, they still give me goosebumps.
Being 15 growing up in a dysfunctional abusive family of alcoholics and listening to this alone crying in my room saved me for real, now I’m 22 but this band still holds special place in my heart❤
being like 30 years old i listen to this shit while drunk and often high it puts me in a good mood. hell i can't even cry unless im drunk usually. need to get plastered to shed some tears thats how it seems to go.
Adam Gontier is one of the few singers you can genuinely feel his hurt and pain expressed through his music. Three Days Grace - just like Linkin Park - as such deep emotions resonating through it.
I feel like people tend to look over slipknot when they talk about bands that put emotion into everything. If you actually look into their story you can really tell what some songs are about.

Same here. This is nostalgia for sure. Got my PSP the year they came out for Christmas and discovered this amazing band on the included disc. Loved them ever since. I watched this and Crossfade Cold every morning on the demo disc before school. Good times 👍
I felt that a lot with my mother until, she intentionally drunk herself to death last year... As dark as it is to say, me and my family are a lot better off now that her soul has departed to heaven...
Same with me and my mom . She turned really toxic after my brother passed and turned to drugs and I can’t forgive her. She has hurt me really bad and I don’t care if she tries to say that she’s sorry because I can’t accept it
Neil killing it on the drums, Barry rocking with the amazing riffs, and Adam delivering emotion thru his voice. It's all beautiful, and what i love about Adam is his lyrics are relatable. Whether it be Home, Never too Late, I hate everything about you or just like you (also Brad matching the energy)
From 2:51 to 2:55 I always sing the lyrics to Someone Who Cares, and it mashes perfectly if you sing one word to one drum beat. "Swear this time it won't turn out the same cause now- I'M BETTER OFF ALONE"
My mom was an alcoholic and she would scream and hit me. She was never proud of me and always compared me to my cousins. I ran away and it saved my life. This describes my life so well.
Please try to forgive her. Alcohol is an evil drug and can destroy everything. But you only have one mother and I am sure she didn‘t mean to be a bad one. ❤️🩹
My gf told me this year these songs were never about a romance they were about their abusive parents and goodlord the context makes everything hit so much harder i always wondered why or how he could manage such hatred and malice into his voice over a bad relationship. But hands down my favorite thing about this band and why its my favorite is the character growth. You can hear in each album the lyrics healing. Getting more hopeful dare i say happy. Ending with transit of venus’s unbreakable was just art. ART. We have witnessed in song form the internal struggle of an angry young man leaving behind his trauma and ascending past them into an adult. Its beauty. Pure beauty.
Its too bad Adam, the lead singer at this point in the band's career, left the band this year. Their new single sounds good, so I have faith that they'll keep going strong.
They indeed do,and let's hope they keep going as good as they were.I REALLY HOPE that Matt can be a good replacement (I know,it sounds mean, but I can't find a faster way to say it in another word) of Adam...damn,he was epic.
Oh, Adam, you wonderful extremist singer, in some of the worst times of my life your music has been there to tell me there's hope, even going through Hell. Thank you so much!
My home was a nightmare for both my sister and I. My sister committed suicide 23 years ago and i still miss her very much. I was lucky to make it. I found love that saved my life.
There was a time when every TDG song sounded to me like my life. Now, I still hear the songs, but my life has changed a lot. Thing in home and with family are going good, I have some friends now, a nice work, I'm not harrased by bad thoughts anymore. If you are doing bad, don't worry, hold on, try your best, and you will be better in the future.
I'm going through this abusive relationship. She breaks my shit and screams at me constantly. I immediately remembered this song and realized. Holy shit. This is me. I miss the old days. Nostalgia is a mental escape in a world gone wrong.
my heart just broke. Watching this after I saw 'I am machine' is just extremely sad for me. I miss Adam for TDG. but I know This "House" is not your home Adam.
seems like every band goes downhill after a while. or at least they change ALOT in their sound. want examples? Three Days Grace (Transit of venus. complete radio stuff. you can hear some signs of it in Life starts now already but the full stuff was ToV) Shinedown: After the 2. album (us and them) they went into more pop-radio direction, although I like some from sound of madness, Amaryllis is completely soft rock or kinda pop-rock. The only thing I'm happy for is that Breaking Benjamin is back again, with the original singer. I have faith in them, in Ben actually. BB is one out of the rare bands that stayed true to it's "sound". Foo Fighters is another good band. Not coincidence they are still the most favorable rock band nowadays. They must be doing something well...
Transit of Venus was really not one of Three Days Grace's best albums. I like the 2 new singles: "Painkiller" and "I Am Machine" though. Apparently, they are trying to go back to their roots and sound like they did back on their first record. I'm willing to give their 5th record a chance and see what it'll sound like. It just won't be the same without Adam. Matt is really trying, but he'll just never be like Adam. :-(
I remember the first time i saw this music video was on the first gen PSP demo disc that came with it. I'm in my mid twenties and listening to it now hits me in the feels because I understand it better. Sometimes you might feel like your own being is not a home and just feels like a broken house of a lost soul.
Kyxda sometimes you're so close that you block everyone out so others don't effect you but sometimes when people who've suffered the same thing (Adam) then you can relate in hindsight people like him need someone to relate to
Stay strong...you'll realize these problems are nothing compared to what comes...so take it easy nd push thru shit. Even if it may seem shit. Dont ever give up.
I will play it when I was at school because they will say it was like a 2nd home to us which was complete BS but yeah I would also play it at home too for some reason but Hold on buddy.
Saint Asonia just released a new single “The Hunted”. It’s amazing and from what I hear, their upcoming album, which is set to be released later on this year, is going to be Adam Gontier’s best album since his time in Three Days Grace.
One time I was stoned listening this song and I thought maybe what he meant is that hes bashing himself with a stone because he wants to die or something.
Just waiting when I'll be 40 years old in 2042 driving with my kids playing these songs from 3 Days Grace, Linking Park, Breaking Benjamin and others and my kids will be like "dad wtf are these songs?" I'll tell them, first of all you're grounded for saying such a thing, second, LEGENDS
In 2039 I’ll be 35 and blasting this type music all by myself in my car and then when I come to a stop sign or red light and the person in the other car next to me will be like WTF or he or she will jam out with me until people honk at us!😎🤘🏻
Everyday for 10+ years my Dad would come home with a terrible attitude, waiting for one of his children to mess up to take his anger out on.. it was always me, I was physically and mentally abused for 18+ yrs, he’d always let his anger get the best of him, I’ve had bruises, cuts anything you can imagine has happened to me, he almost killed me one night, that’s when I knew I had to leave that place, I was so mentally unwell and no one could tell, I still struggle with depression but it’s getting better now that I’m out of that house. So I fully relate to this song, and to anyone else who is going through the same thing or has went through it.. it’s ok, it gets better.. trust me.
20 years later, this is still my favorite Three Days Grace song. I related to this song so much growing up and it said all the things I couldn't say or didn't know how to say. This song put every feeling I had as a teen. It was my escape when I was too scared to speak up. This entire album got through the toughest time of my life. This song screamed for me when I felt like my throat was being tightened. This song and this entire album will always, always have a special place in my heart. I owe Three Days Grace so much. They kept me going. Happy to be 24 and very much alive and making my house a home ❤
I feel the same way. This song was a big part of my childhood. I would play this song so much and my mom would get upset as i would tell her this house is not a home. Now I'm 30 and I still relate a lot to this song especially when Adam sings No matter how hard I try you're never satisfied as my whole life no matter how hard I try it seems like it's never good enough for anyone.
For me, this is the only song that makes me cry every time I hear it. 3DG was the first rock band I listened to when I was a teenager, this makes me feel identified, 13 years later.

My exact feeling right now. Like seriously I've had so much rage building up the past few weeks and all night have been wracking my brain to find the angriest song I'm already familiar with and this one finally came to mind. And now I feel a hell of a lot better.
These guys will probably never know how much these lyrics and their songs meant for me, but they did. In a time of problems with my mental health they kept me out of the dark ❤
I saw these guys...oh my god, if you think they're good on a music video...wait until you're at a concert with the light show and the flames coming out of the ground...When i saw them for the first time i ALMOST started crying because of all those years i worshiped them...it was my first concert...papa roach and seether were there too...
No matter how hard I try, you're never satisfied I played this song like crazy when this album came out. It was by far my favorite by them for the longest time.
Man, I listened to this song in Y7 summer when it was first released. Now it's 2015 and in about 3 weeks I'll be doing my GCSEs.... Man, this band got me listening to music and I'll always be greatful for them kickstarting that routine hobby we all have. these older 3DG songs were one thing that helped me through my toxic relationships in the past. PRAISE PSP
❤
Same.
Man I first discovered this song in middle school, got my first PSP and this music video came with it, and I fell in love with them since
You're not the only my friend.
Same here. This is nostalgia for sure. Got my PSP the year they came out for Christmas and discovered this amazing band on the included disc. Loved them ever since. I watched this and Crossfade Cold every morning on the demo disc before school. Good times 👍
Yo deadass! The PSP blessed with having this music video on it. Really nostalgic memories. Good times for real.

Always gonna be one of my favorite songs, owe so much to it and stuff like it from this time in music
Well said man
Hi ARTV
I felt I would eventually find you in one these comments sections.
ARTV oh didn't think I'd find you here
My favorite too
Song used to represent me, make me angry and depressed, then be a release for emotion. Now that I'm away, it actually brings me happiness.
Welcome back, Adam!!!!
I was like 12 when i heard this song on my PSP for free and i was going crazy!!
lol same here man
Did it come with your PSP or something?
came on a PSP Demo disc
I threw mine away because I thought it was blank. I'm so stupid!!! > ,
Yep! LOL Me too :)
Three Days Grace + Breaking Benjamin + Linkin Park + Green Day = Best Music ever!! 😍🙌
Don't forget Skillet!
And Evanescence
Jason Colvin ok ok skillet too :P
Marisela Thomas and evanescence :P
ayy what about Papa Roach
"No matter how hard i try, you're never satisfied!" I like this part because it's like that with my mother and i felt that.
I feel that
As someone with toxic ass parent if relate to it so hard
I felt that a lot with my mother until, she intentionally drunk herself to death last year...
As dark as it is to say, me and my family are a lot better off now that her soul has departed to heaven...
Same with me and my mom . She turned really toxic after my brother passed and turned to drugs and I can’t forgive her. She has hurt me really bad and I don’t care if she tries to say that she’s sorry because I can’t accept it
Me too, my father Is the contrary but my mother Is just like that
Neil killing it on the drums, Barry rocking with the amazing riffs, and Adam delivering emotion thru his voice. It's all beautiful, and what i love about Adam is his lyrics are relatable. Whether it be Home, Never too Late, I hate everything about you or just like you (also Brad matching the energy)
However this is 2003, didn’t Barry join in 2004
@@saifuppal7403the self titled album yes Barry wasn't there, but he(and Neil) still have a huge impact with the band to this day even without Adam.
"By the time you come home im already STONED" best line
growing up in a broken home this song always spoke to me and made me feel less alone, always gonna be one of my favorites
From 2:51 to 2:55 I always sing the lyrics to Someone Who Cares, and it mashes perfectly if you sing one word to one drum beat.
"Swear this time it won't turn out the same cause now- I'M BETTER OFF ALONE"
Wowwwww
My mom was an alcoholic and she would scream and hit me. She was never proud of me and always compared me to my cousins. I ran away and it saved my life. This describes my life so well.
Keep your head up 🙌
Hope your back on your feet and doing well!
Think we got the same mom lol
Please try to forgive her. Alcohol is an evil drug and can destroy everything. But you only have one mother and I am sure she didn‘t mean to be a bad one. ❤️🩹
You probably deserved it
Three Days Grace is always my
bedtime songs during this lockdown
Omg same here haha
damn so fucking true
@DrewZull skillet was mine
Now it's Three Days Grace or anything that's rock music lol
Gives me flashbacks to March 13 2020 and many more dramatic things
Three Days Grace and Linkin Park is my home
Couldn't agree more
One of your homes is kinda gone
@@annoyingasshole2051 In a way yes
Dude you’re on point they were the only bands I listen to repeatedly and liked all their albums
Breaking Benjamin also.
HEARING ADAMS VOICE IN TDG AGAIN IS SO THERAPEUTIC IM SO HAPPY. THIS SONG ALSO BEING RELEASED ON MY BIRTHDAY IS AN AMAZING PRESENT
I recently fell in love with this group. Their songs touch all the strings of my soul, it's something amazing
Its too bad Adam, the lead singer at this point in the band's career, left the band this year. Their new single sounds good, so I have faith that they'll keep going strong.
It doesn't matter, yesterday i go to the concert of three days grace and matt rocks with this song
They indeed do,and let's hope they keep going as good as they were.I REALLY HOPE that Matt can be a good replacement (I know,it sounds mean, but I can't find a faster way to say it in another word) of Adam...damn,he was epic.
I miss Adam :(
ZarosianCabbage Adam actually left the band in January 2013.
three days grace... i wish adam was back .. i need one more album guys...
im missing u way to much!....
For a moment i thought u wrote " i wish adam was black" :D
Well, here I am what do you want man? XD
LOLBOY62099 Not funny....in fact kinda stupid if you ask me...
but, my name is Adam, It is kinda funny
they might have an album out this year
Oh, Adam, you wonderful extremist singer, in some of the worst times of my life your music has been there to tell me there's hope, even going through Hell. Thank you so much!
+Ricardo Martinez if u want more of him listen to saint asonia...
Right? For some reason he's always found a way to cheer me up too!
My home was a nightmare for both my sister and I. My sister committed suicide 23 years ago and i still miss her very much. I was lucky to make it. I found love that saved my life.
There is nothing more painful then when your own family makes you feel like a burden.
I never wanna be home cause my lil bro cry’s going home sucks I’d rather be homeless
I agree . My own mother abused me.
@@Waking1 I relate to this because I felt the same way . I never wanted to go home, glad that I got out of there. Hopefully you got out as well
I know the feeling
sometimes kids become burdens....
There is a lot of power in his voice
I'm going through this abusive relationship. She breaks my shit and screams at me constantly. I immediately remembered this song and realized. Holy shit. This is me. I miss the old days. Nostalgia is a mental escape in a world gone wrong.
I don’t think we can ever repay artists like this for all the lives they’ve saved with the music they make.
my heart just broke. Watching this after I saw 'I am machine' is just extremely sad for me. I miss Adam for TDG.
but I know This "House" is not your home Adam.
***** the truth has been spoke
Haha I did the same thing! I watched this after the ear bleeding from I am machine. It's nice to get a good dose of the good old Three Days Grace
seems like every band goes downhill after a while. or at least they change ALOT in their sound. want examples?
am i the only one who likes matt's songs?
yeah, i know, he is not adam, but he is still a good singer.
This was my life when I lived with my mom. Can’t tell you how much their music saved me growing up. 🖤
I was 26 when this album debuted. Still love this entire album!! It changed after Adam left. Nobody can replace Adam.
is back
One of my favorite songs they have ever made.
.
Agreed, this, just like you, Animal i have become, and pain are all so perfect, along with songs like never too late and gone forever too
Definitely my favorite song!💞🎵🎤🎸
This was my teenage anthem growing up in an abusive/sadistic home - still brings back all those feelings when i hear it
Adam brings out the demons in me and helps me battle them. Excellent artist.
One of my favorites
Three Days Grace is forever in my heart.
Adam, Welcome HOME. Three Days Grace 🔥
happy he's back
is it safe to say that i literally love every single three days grace song??? this band is flawless
Such an amazing comeback story for Adam and amazing collab and acceptance by Matt. So glad they could figure out a way to work together!
This song was on their FIRST ALBUM and it sounds this good. This band was destined for greatness.
I remember the first time i saw this music video was on the first gen PSP demo disc that came with it. I'm in my mid twenties and listening to it now hits me in the feels because I understand it better. Sometimes you might feel like your own being is not a home and just feels like a broken house of a lost soul.
Lmao was looking for the PSP comment
So crazy with that PSP demo disc memory. That demo disc contributed so much to what I listen to now 🖤
omg yes this was always the one i would watch over and over again. really expanded my music taste forsure
That demo disc was underrated as hell. Had 30 seconds to mars on it too and a bunch of other heat
So that's why this song is familiar!! You just solved the mystery of where I heard this song😂😂😂
2:55 my favorite part
This band has saved my life time in time out endless thx
Ppl like them help me feel like it will be ok in the end so yea i know how you feel
No that close if a song helps
Kyxda sometimes you're so close that you block everyone out so others don't effect you but sometimes when people who've suffered the same thing (Adam) then you can relate in hindsight people like him need someone to relate to
@@_Dat_Edgy_Boi_ I dont think relating to someone would change anything, drowning close to someone doesnt make it any better lol.
I always play this song when I’m coming home from school
I feel for you young soul
Stay strong...you'll realize these problems are nothing compared to what comes...so take it easy nd push thru shit. Even if it may seem shit. Dont ever give up.
Me to man, me to
I will play it when I was at school because they will say it was like a 2nd home to us which was complete BS but yeah I would also play it at home too for some reason but Hold on buddy.
Three Days Grace, old to new, has kept me alive!
Shay Woger i listening to this whilst i OD
Song hits hard after you've been through a lot and it means a lot to me. As well as "Just like you".
Bruh , the lyrics are so deep and meaningful
*For those who miss Adam*
He is still singing 😌 but in new band called Saint Asonia, sorry if I made a mistake, english isn't my native language
Your grammar better than most of the people.
Saint Asonia just released a new single “The Hunted”. It’s amazing and from what I hear, their upcoming album, which is set to be released later on this year, is going to be Adam Gontier’s best album since his time in Three Days Grace.
LostInReverence yes and their new album Flawed Design it's amazing
@@LostInReverence the new album sucks a** in my opinion. the only 2 good songs on it are The Hunted and Beast
why didn't he come back to Three Days Grace?
Why am i obsessed by this song?
It's been almost 3 hours and i'm still here repeting.
It's normal. I've been listening to it since 2005 =)
a lot of emotions while watching is just such an escape
because this is s-tier music. s-tier means it's top level.
This is a timeless classic this band is the greatest 😊🔥🔥🔥💯
My favorite song from them ! “By the time you get home I’m already stoned” I felt that🙌🏾
*"Why do I hear police sirens all of a sudden?"*
My favorite line from this song is *you turn off the TV and you scream and me!*
I felt that
One time I was stoned listening this song and I thought maybe what he meant is that hes bashing himself with a stone because he wants to die or something.
@@turkeyjerkey111 lmao

yeah!!
yea it was kind of bad back in 2012 and 2013 but thankfully it rebounded in 2015
BESTTT SONGG OF 3DG!!! 3:)
Will still be a good song in 2050
Just waiting when I'll be 40 years old in 2042 driving with my kids playing these songs from 3 Days Grace, Linking Park, Breaking Benjamin and others
and my kids will be like "dad wtf are these songs?" I'll tell them, first of all you're grounded for saying such a thing, second, LEGENDS
I would be 37 then and same
I'll be 41 🤣
That's a weird thought.
im 30 w/ two kids driving around with them telling them all that now :D
In 2039 I’ll be 35 and blasting this type music all by myself in my car and then when I come to a stop sign or red light and the person in the other car next to me will be like WTF or he or she will jam out with me until people honk at us!😎🤘🏻
Same. Cant wait.
So I fully relate to this song, and to anyone else who is going through the same thing or has went through it.. it’s ok, it gets better.. trust me.
My generation now they don’t now but I still love three days grace and try to keep them alive and relevant
Honestly this band helped me through so hard times I will always love and appreciate this band for that.
3DG was the first rock band I listened to when I was a teenager, this makes me feel identified, 13 years later.
listening it for years and never get sick of it
