Karlach and Astarion are FRANTIC while all the others are like "oh my, looks like this could kill you, you should get out, maybe." Except for Lae'zel, she's aggressively cheering for you to take it.
Tbh I'm always going to ship these two with Tav... esp as Astarion likely needs less sexual intimacy but more of the romantic trust intimacy... and karlach is just pure sweet physical expression of love.... tav is there for her naughty urges and astarion is there for her sweet intimacy

I never actually tried this with my tav. I saw no downside to letting Laezel go first, you get approval since it’s what she wants and she takes the risk. Kind of realised it’s not going to be a miracle cure so early and also because the gith are scary! Astarion also shows concern for her, if you fail the speech check to persuade her to get out of there he gets stressed and yells at you, saying something like so is the plan to just let her die?! On the one hand, it’s like hey dude I am trying to help here! But on the other, it’s quite sweet for him to show he cares about his allies.
There IS a downside to letting Lae’zel enter the zathisk. I got stuck with a -6 skills debuff spanned across 3 skill areas, and I was stuck with it the rest of the game. My brother only had a -2 debuff to one skill though, so I’m not sure what dictates how much of a debuff it’ll give her. When I put my Tav in it first playthrough, I didn’t get any of those debuff applied to me.

If your character goes in you get the chance to get the buff that makes all your illithid powers bonus actions

Lae'zel was the one to speak for me, so my tav was getting pressured to stay in the terrifying death machine until it blew up. Now they can use Survival Instinct as a bonus action!

@@johngeiger117Kithrak Voss isn't infected and he confirms that it always kills. I don't think altering the perception of so many people during a dialogue with him about that, especially when it's a key point in trying to convince laezel is something the emperor is able to fo subtly
Sure, he could alter their perception if it suited him, but why would he bother when what he needs them to believe is happening matches the reality of what’s happening? I guess Voss could be lying about what the zath’isk does too, and their interests just happened to align, but it seems like a stretch given everything else that happens at the crèche.
I wish I could be as calm as Gale.
I love how Wyll is supposed to be good aligned like karlach but most of his lines make him sound neutral or mischevious. He really sounds like he is saying "oh this looks bad oh well"

No Halsin lines? I think you can recruit him before this point if you go Shadowlands first then loop back
No Halsin is only available in shadowlands and Act3, if you try to ho back to act1 zones with him, he will just say that he needs to stay and that he will wait in vamp until you come back
@@teoteo6185in my experience he straight up dips out of the party. Maybe a glitch, maybe not. Either way my attempt to get Halsin lines made me redo a lot of play time
