Good morning Brian and our weather friends, here in Belmopan, Belize we need the rain as the smoke is slowly making people ill. A lot of the fires we currently have is due a lack of supervision and also careless from a lot of the farmers and individuals who believe that lash and burn is the way to go. I saw some Mennonite farmers and individual clearing their land and decided to burn the debris and it was windy and that went out of control and the fire spread but they did nothing to control the fire and that fire spread to some of the forest reserved and it has been burning for almost 2 weeks. All those trees and animals that has been lost and not to mention the effect it has on the population. So the rain is very much needed and hope this will save those forest and animals as it is devastating to watch. We helped but it is not enough to stop a raging fire.
