  • Welcome back to another HB's review!
    In this video, I review the Rab VR summit jacket.
    I have tried every mid layer there is, and this is the best!
    I hope you enjoy watching. Please let me know what you think in the comments below 💚🏔🏕

    Has anyone used this or the light jacket running looking for something that I can both run and go climbing and walking in ?

      Might be a bit too warm for running unless it's 0 degrees Celsius and below.

    What base layer do you use with this?

    • @HikerBobOfficial

      @enigma1000 hey 👋 I swear by Rab Conduit "crew" - absolutely class in 90% of UK conditions (apart from when it's really hot I wouldn't wear it).
      If you're pushing up to 400m plus, the conduit base layers will keep you warm, but they are also super breathable.
      I hope this helps. See you on the next one! Atb Bob

    Thanks for posting this. I'm on the other side of the pond. I'm looking for something close to the old Marmot Driclime windshirt and this seems to be about as close as you can get. I only have one Rab product and it's the Vital windshirt I believe. I normally wear a size Large in US branded jackets and had to size up to XL and yet the armpits are still quite tight. Could you give us your approx height and weight? Would you recommend sizing up in Rab compared to US brand jackets? Thanks for any info! Great looking piece of kit!

      Hey John 👋 Welcome to the channel mate. I'd go off your vital size. Buy 2 sizes and send one back that's what I'd suggest 👍 see you on the next one 👊

    Hi Bob. Can I request for your weight height and chest as I can't figure out my size.

    • @HikerBobOfficial
      @HikerBobOfficial  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The best advice would be to order 2 sizes. Try them both on and send the one you don’t prefer back 👍

    I have a question.Is it possible packing itself?

    • @HikerBobOfficial
      @HikerBobOfficial  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey, thanks for stopping by! 00:14 You can stuff the jacket into one of the pockets. It's not (technically) designed to do this. Please see the video. Thanks again for watching, and I hope this helps.

      Thanks! bob! I'm interested in the jacket and I hope that is packable Designed technically. I'm sorry that is not packabled.

    Hi Bob, nice looking jacket. Just upgraded to a paramo velez adventure myself, but did consider this jacket. In the end I wanted something that was a bit more waterproof along with being a mid layer. Hope to see more videos of you on the hill soon. Kind regards Alasdair

      @HikerBobOfficial only used it on my bike so far in very low temp. It is ridiculously breathable and windproof. You don't feel cold in it like I did in my normal hard shell when starting off. Using it in scottish winter conditions next weekend so I'm hoping for the best. I know a few people who use the alta in winter and love it. I prefer the smock style cut and chest pocket, so choose this one. Dries very fast, so even if not a true 'waterproof' it dries in minutes. Very impressed so far and a worthy replacement for my pertex pile montane that it is replacing. Not the sexiest looking piece of gear, though!

    Interested in This jacket. Had the vapour rise guide jacket in the past (lost it unfortunately) and loved it. Whether I buy one of these or try find the Vr guide second hand is the ultimate decision lol

      @@HikerBobOfficial that may be the solution 🤣 is it the last iteration of the guide you have before it was stopped??

    • @HikerBobOfficial
      @HikerBobOfficial  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @jd_sports It is quite possible! (Unsure) - bought it a year ago. It's very cosy warm. The VR Summit is no way near as warm as the guide. VR Summit is definitely made for moving but it does take the chill off when you've stopped on a summit.
