It all depends. For this tutorial, I think we copied as best we could from the original designer, but usually, I'll use coolors.co or Adobe Color to help with color schemes and really nailing the color.
It's not the same logo, but I've got some similar tutorials on my page for that kind of thing. Check my logo design and 3D object tutorials if you want!
I really love your tutorials! Just one question though: everything went perfectly except that the colours that I get are somehow a bit "off". For example red turned into salmony pink and green was a bit duller than the one you used. I don't know if the video changed the colours, or if one of my settings is wrong?? Thank you in advance
Hey Idalia ! I think it might be because you started off your document with CMYK. If so, you just have to change your color mode to RGB and you should get brighter colors. :)
Hi Mateo ! It might be because your form is a "transparent path", one of the invalid objects that can't be joined. To turn it back to a normal path, Object > Transparent path > Cancel. :) (sorry if ever the options aren't exactly identical, I translated them by looking at my Ai in French)

I don't know why but my outer glow effect isn't working and I can't figure out the problem.. It didn't work when I was doing another deign a few days ago aswell... help?

What are your thoughts on the redesigned New Document window? I think all those preset thumbnails are a waste of space and it's just another way to incorporate the marketplace into another window.

You've probably found the answer by now, but in case someone else is wondering: click top right drop down menu (lines) in the color tab -> click show options.
Hi, I noticed that your watermelon on the other tab has the squiggles disappear near the top of the watermelon but that wasn't part of the tutorial. Just saying I noticed it ;)
Have you ever used the Astute Graphics plugins? Purchased them last week and already love them. They are awesome. It would be good to see this kind of tutorial done with those plugins as they have some super interesting functions that would make it easier to do this illustration.astutegraphics.com/

You're literally the best!! One question though: 6:36 What does ''joining'' them exactly do? I'm not really seeing the point of doing that.
When you use the scissors the path remain open, the joining just join the opening points.
the same problem, it is written the selected objects cant be join as they are invalid objects (((( i join them selecting points directly

I agree. I virtually never use the presets. The drop downs were perfect. Icons are huge! Haha
