- The most common question asked about handcuffs is "What is the difference between Smith and Wesson Model 100 and Peerless Model 700 Handcuffs . We have decided to make a video to show you. The two main differences other than basic design are the locations of the locking and unlocking mechanisms and the way the handcuffs are double locked. We also introduce the new Peerless P010 handcuffs.

I prefer peerless they are durable and very affordable and also are made in the USA
Love the new intro
Thank you for this informative video!
peerless only has one model made in "Asia" the P010 is manufactured in Korea. Everything else is made in the US.
I am a fan

Whats the difference between the S&W 100-1 and the 103?
I like the old peerless design the ones without rivets on the hinges.
Psycho9263 how old are we talking cause I've a model 301 and even they have rivets on the hinges
They all have the rivets the 300 series just had them sanded down for appearance.
I also like the 300s without rivets. While rivets make them stronger they take away the asthetic value
Does smith and wesson and peerless have the same key? I have s &w handcuffs from 1970's when I was on the job and lost the key
Will these usa made cuffs fall apart with use? Any metal deformation or chain seperation?
Thanks Interpol007
nice
Will the same key open and close S&w and Peerless?
which type of handcuffs should I buy
If I was buying for myself it would be S&W.
Pick Smith & Wesson since 1852 made in USA !
My question is: can you speed cuff with any of these cuffs?
Have used both sets, i like them both but i perfer smiths, they seem to be heavier, and better built, now the peerless ones i trust my life to haven't had a problem with the ones the department issued, but just as a build standpoint the smiths seem to be a more solid cuff, all in all you cant go wrong with either but it is just a matter of personal preference, i am lucky my department lets us choose what cuffs we want to carry, as long as there from a reputable company otherwise i would be carrying the department issued peerless.
Have key on hand! Wife put me in Smith cuffs and we lost the key! Officer came to untie me!
Yes I do. But Peerless is not junk, their U.S. made ones where well made. Never seen the newer ones from Asia.
Look up on Wikipedia Stanley Radwan. That man was so strong he could bend those handcuffs like you can bend tin foil. A man even stronger was Zishe (Sigmund) Breitbart. He died by driving a spike into a bunch of oak bards on his knee. The point came through the boards and died of blood poisoning. Both men can take the cuffs and overlap them and bend them like you would be able to bend cardboard. It's on Wikipedia.
I want a peerless cuff
I like both
What's the best and cheapest cuff
www.911gear.ca/peerless-model-p010-chain-handcuffs-p-2272.html these are cheap and good
There’s those same S&W cuffs on handcuffwarehouse.com that are only $20
@grey man keep key handy. Wife put cuffs on me and we lost the key! Officer came to untie me and laughed!
I have peerless light weight model and I can only get them to unlock then there dubble locked. If there not double locked they handcuffs won't unlock
@brandonjordan1951 you may want to return them to the place you purchased them or explore options for warranty replacement through Peerless.
I have a question about the peerless handcuffs I have had them for a while now and one of the cuffs is not always opening back up with the key can they be repaired or will I need to buy a new pair.
Aiden Difficult to say without seeing the key or cuffs. Have you tried another cuff key to open it?
So I think I just got ripped off....at the Pawn Shop, I purchased (without thinking) a set of Peerless handcuffs with one key and a leather belt holster for ......$70 !
My main problem is I'd like to be able to identify the model no.??? They are black, with 2 chain links, the rivet heads are hidden, and the only identifiable marks are the patent number and a 6 digit serial number....
How do I tell what model it is?
Peace n Tanks for any help, ANYBODY ....
I'm subbing you as well....
Pawn shops will do that man. Depends on where u go, but it's a general rule.
I have used both but carried the S&W myself.
Do they say peerless
Funny idea for collector... i have neederland police model chain less and betallic titanium steel GK for french administration and i have too smith mod 100 standart and a model of asia thumbcuff
alan levy Have you noticed that some of the knock-off handcuffs are actually better than name brand. Like for example peerless knockoffs. I also have a pair of Detective Romo handcuffs made in Japan, they are heavy and look similar to peerless and they cost less and they are solid bold and strong. Then they have Detective Romo Handcuffs. Smooth action, A gentle push and they lock. Excellent cuffs and safe the slightest push will get it up you the 4th or 5th pawl. Cuff like that can save your life. S&W you have to push hard. But with Detective Romo Cuffs one half of pound of pressure and you're at the 4th or 5th pawl. They weigh about the same as Peerless model 500 maybe slightly heavier. If you can finf them buy them. Well worth the money, and rapid action. Actually they are better than Peerless.
Psycho9263 thank you for theses informations.very interresting
Psycho9263 Gk french administration model(bimetallic) is very good option and more easy to lock quickly than SW...with low pressure your easy obtain 5/6 "clicks"...and its very light.....but very cumbersome cuffs very difficult to keep hiden on vest in civilian mission...and price is very hight .110€ or 150$taxless for our dotation..and 20percent in more for public.(wih uniform stuffy look its a quality for disuation...S.W or similar look like sex shop sweet cuffs VS french model)..
Do you prefer the Smith and Wesson ?
I wanted to buy this cuff
From Malaysia🇲🇾🇲🇾
Were do you have dese handcuffs
www.911gear.ca/
I will say cuffs are cool. You have to think Houdini, I locked mine to my collar. BIG mistake, I got they keys...I just could not get them in the cuffs..
Now,,,I saw some not chained...are those S&W?...
yes and peerles
I prefer the Peerless. The S&W are easier to shim or pick.
Do not loose key! Wife tied me up in cuffs! Officer came to untie me and laughed!
@@chrissteele1362 Yeah I have gotten stuck myself, but I was by myself. I called the police and three of them showed up. I'm sure I gave them a story they could tell! LOL
@@channel8888 I know man bit embarrassed! O well. Next she tie me up with rope!
@@chrissteele1362 Just have to have a hand full of spare keys around. In my case I had the key but couldn't get it into the hinge handcuffs behind my back. I had put them on wrong and the keyholes were facing the wrong way, plus I had my elbows cuffed and I was blindfolded. YIKES!
@@channel8888 man you were in a pickle for sure how were your elbows tied?
Lol....yeah Bro, don't know how I forgot that ?....
And you’re law enforcement background is ?
17 years in Corrections... You ?
This guy doesn't know nothing it's not real information Smith & Wesson can have double locks on the bottom push pin to. Just like peerless
Not the models in the video
