He is so wrong on this one. I was so excited when I saw he was reviewing Kate and Al's and told my wife I'd be shocked if it wasn't in the 8's. Then, he comes out with a single slice and I immediately told my wife, "No, you have to get the whole pie fresh! Now he's going to give it a 7.6!". They were robbed!
They dont pick up their phone, the woman who manages the place is an idiot and can be an asshole. Even I can see that the slice is sub par, they dont make it like they used to.
Columbus Farmers Market Columbus NJ Rt 206. My father in law is an antique hunter/junker. At 88 yrs old he goes up there every Thurs and Sunday. The Amish and Menonites also dominate the Food Court. Some great stuff there to be sure. Ive never tried the pizza but now I will. Everybody knows Dave is good for biz!
Middle of Amish PA came across a similar deal with a constantly ongoing indoor outdoor flea market thing. People rent stands and they had few food places in it. Really dope bakery with tons of doughnuts.
I know this might be a little to complicated for barstool but if they showed a 5 sec clip of a map of jersey and where the pizza place is that would be dope.
I grew up in Columbus, and my first job was in that flea market. Kate and Al’s was our family pizza growing up. But the secret is to order a pie done crispy. Helps combat the liquid of the tomatoes. If you can find the phone number😂 been saved in my phone for years
The people at Kate an Al's were insane to not give Dave a full pie! That is a move that definitely will hurt their business. They deserve an 8+ all day but the fact that they gave him a cold single slice is unforgivable!!!

I grew up like 20mins from this place/Pete's. To say 1 is better than the other depends on the day. 1 day Pete's is better the next Kate and Al's. Personally I have experienced more good days at Kate and Al's than i have Pete's. But for future reference ordering a pie by phone isn't gonna happen at either place either because they're incredibly busy or the people working don't want to take a phone order. But i know Kate and Al's it's definitely best to order the pie in person. It'll be fresh and not made hours before and hasn't sat on a heater for who knows how long. I remember being a kid my mom bringing home Kate and Al's and then for the next few days my parents, me, and our neighbor's (who were friends) opening the door to the car just to get a smell of it. I moved to Florida about 11yrs ago and need to take a trip so my fiancé can try it.

I feel it’s in the 8s all day long if you get it hot. Also DeLorenzo’s, Papa’s, Palermo’s and Conti’s are all in the general area (15-30 mins), so we’re lucky, fat and know good pie
It’s an 8 without a doubt, but it’s my favorite pizza in the whole world, lotta memories of grabbin a few pies and heading down the shore or over to the grandparents for the birds. Good pizza

Did you try Pete's? You also need to get chicken and Jo Jo's potatoes from the chicken coop inside the Market. My dad's childhood James Jo Jo crested the recipe for the potatoes. They're heavenly

I remember this place since I was 3 years old. I'm 59 now. Kate and Al's I don't remember. I have vivid memories. A story or 2, awesome video that's very personal. The pizza was awesome. Nothing that taste like this I've found in California

Dave doesn't quite understand how it works there. You have to order 2 hours in advance in person & then come back to pick it up, you can't just call your order in. 7.4, come on...... Columbus should at least be in the 8's, even though it isn't his style, it certainly is mine! 🍕

New subscriber here Dave, I noticed looking back you've been a lot of places in Ohio, next time you're there you should stop in Toledo, so many great pizza places, I would suggest Original Gino's above the rest but there are a lot of wood fire places here now too.

That place is just like 7-mile fair near Kenosha, WI. They have a food court and chapel on Sunday. It's one giant flee market.
