I think you should go one day trip islands by speedboat to visit beautiful islands such as Similan, Koh Tachai, Koh Racha or Koh Khai because those islands have the most beautiful sea water. Than on Phuket Island, plus the sandy beach that is as white as powder.

Thank you for watching guys! Don’t let it put you off renting a bike, apparently it’s just Phuket that they’re strict! Everywhere else we’ve been has been fine! It’s a great way to explore Thailand ☺️
Don’t let it bring you down. Phuket is notorious for it. I’ve been fined more times than I can actually remember! I guarantee the islands further down won’t be like that (Koh Lanta, Koh Chang, and the smaller ones)

You did great making lemonade out of lemons. Great info for the vid. The beaches looked great as well the water. Simply beautiful. Have you thought about getting a small soft cooler to take some water and snacks, but would fold up. Keep enjoying life and watch out for the sunburn. Blessings.

Hey guys, sorry you got pulled over by the police. One thing to keep in mind that it is not only the required license for the size of the bike, but also the insurance coverage (if you had any) , might be void in case you got into an accident. Just to keep in mind.
yeah we didn't realise that until I googled it after we got fined 😅 luckily we haven't had any accidents!

That’s such a crap scam, it should be the rental company in trouble for renting them out in the first place lmfao. Great vid tho!
They don't even ask to see a driving license in the rental shops here!
For sure the rental without license proper check and the coordinated police stops feel scammy and border on entrapment...there's no question about that. But that said, if you want to drive a motor vehicle in a foreign country, best to make sure (ideally BEFORE you travel) that you're legal to do so with proper license, etc. You'd expect tourists visiting your own country to do the same.

The water in the Baltic Sea is much colder than that in the Andaman Sea, but remember, the Baltic Sea is the sweetest sea in the world, and the sand on the sea is one of the best and finest in the world. So Polish beaches are waiting for you. June and August are the best.
Sorry about tickets, that’s sad. Just too late to tell you before renting a motorbike driving on Phuket that you need to have a properly Driver license, but anyway you might like to explore on many more islands around Phuket or Krabi is much nicer beach and sand cheaper food, place to stay experiencing long tail boat 🚤 and you can driving a bike freely on small island anywhere, but be aware of Thai southern spice! They’re really hot. try some mild taste like” Pad see ew “ fried noodles with dark soy sauce, they’re not contain peanut like most Pad Thai. Please stay positive and be safe. Enjoy your journey

Hi guys, a couple of questions, how did you travel with a laptop? Also how much did you save before coming to thailand?

Umm I (Ash) have blisters 😅 so not great! But we're not feeling too bad after a good nights sleep!
Dont get frustrated by the cops and tickets. You will learn to turn around before the check point. You will also learn where the checkpoints are they are in the same places. I have got 3 tickets in one week and then gone months without a ticket. Having a bike and running around all the time is well worth having the bike and getting tickets. There is a great spot in Rawai for sushi
We haven’t had a ticket anywhere else, Phuket must just be pretty strict! We’ll know next time to turn around before the check point! Thank you for watching ☺️

yeah I had the UK international driving license! we probably won't rent one in Phuket again, apparently they're known for stopping tourists

Sorry to hear you got a fine, unfortunately that one happens all over Thailand, don't even think of hiring a jet ski there its a very common other scam, just a thought i always carry a photocopy of my passport with me at all times, that is another fine if you get spot checked and havent got it with you. Also if you use the ATM machines be aware they are different than the UK, in the UK the card comes out first then the cash but in Thailand its the cash first then the card, its easy to forget your card, if you are going to Kho Chang or Kho Tao they are lovely islands, take care and enjoy.

Money for old rope, I bet it's a well-rehearsed scam. I read about this. The other thing is to check any damage to your bike, that may have been caused by previous users, at the outset, in case you later get blamed and charged for it. A shame to have to worry about these things. There are jet ski scams too apparently. Be careful. Beautiful beaches around the island. You must be loving your time there.

I am sorry that you got pulled over. I am Thai and I agree with you that it was not fair for you. The police should have given you only a warning ticket. The renter should not have given you that bike. They should know the law.
We hadn’t experienced it at all up in the north! It would have been nice to go away with just a warning but these things happen! Thanks for watching ☺️

Ask the shop next time how they can help you in a case like this .If they cannot help ,look for other shop that can.My recommendation to you is to hold on the ticket and talk to the police nicely that you going to pay the fine at the police station and take the ticket to the bike shop,ask them if they can help you to solve the amount of the fine (for less) on your behalf.If this incident put you off , hire a bicycle next time ha ha.
We didn’t think of doing this, 500 Baht wasn’t a lot of money so we thought it was easier to just pay the fine! If this ever happens again we’ll take it to the shop! Thank you! I’m sure it won’t put us off hiring a moped again, we just won’t be hiring one in Phuket 🙈 Thank you for watching!

Getting a traffic ticket is not a scam. If you did your homework before you rented the bikes, you'd have known you needed a proper motorbike license.

Bloody typical in Thailand right now! it's because there not making any money from other tourist ? and after you paid the fine they let you ride on still 😒 yes strange one,,, still brush that aside enjoy the island,, if you get chance go visit maybells coffee shop / garden they are brilliant couple from the uk and great food and drinks, anyway enjoy you too. 😀 👍🙏

You must be new to Phuket. It makes a perfect sense. You are westerner visiting a place over run by mafia and corrupt police. You are fortunate the fine was only 500 baht instead of 5000 baht, or whatever the number they decide. They are desperate since so many businesses are closed now and they cannot extort as much money as before. There's nothing you can do about it. By the way, driving without the license is only 200 baht for a THAI.

Bike owners don't care whether you have the right licence or not. Police will not care that the owner rented to you without asking for the licence. It's all about the baht.
