i think im below average. im pretty lucky in this department. i fall asleep almost as soon as i get in the bed. like my head is on the pillow and im out cold almost instantly
Been a viewer of yours since the 68 facts about space. This is a nice nod back to that, and I hope you keep up the hard work. Thanks for the great content!
the exploding head syndrome thing, I was like "that sounds bizarre, can't be real" then remembered less than 2 months ago I violently awoke in the middle of the night cause I had thought REALLY REALLY loud thunder just went off, which i'm extremely terrified of. (I have autism, so very loud and unpredictable noises genuinely terrifies me.) only to realize after like 5 minutes of plugging my ears that there was no thunder or lightning at all. I was very confused.
9:10 I stayed awake in 2022 for 3 days non-stop drinking coffee 'cause I had to do some college stuff, I never felt so horrible and like dying like I did when this happened. Never depriving myself from sleep again.
The REM ones actually not true. REM sleep is closest to stage 1, as the sleep cycle goes 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 3 - 2 - REM - 2 - 3 - 4 and so on, so REM essentially replaces stage 1 during the cycle and is actually the last phase we experience before waking up naturally, which is why you remember most of ur dream when you first wake up and experience it quickly fading away. If you ever feel groggy and tired when waking up its cause you woke up either on the way to stage 4 or at stage 4.
Also dreams do occur during our other stages, they just are much less eventful. The bulk of your dreams are in fact in REM but you still do dream in late stages, just not as intense, which is why you feel like you’ve only been asleep for a couple hours.
I’m kind of a sleep expert myself, I practice for 8 hours every night
im something of a scientist myself, i experiment with many different hours ranging between 4 and 11
Damn. My housemate insomnia keeps me up all the time and I barely get to practice it (frowning lettuce emoji).
Those are rookie numbers you gotta pump those up
rel, me too:)
me too, i usually practice for 3
matt is one of the rare people, who actually uses the binaural audio recording of the microphone properly... thank you so. much for that :)

I'm starting to wonder what doctors or other professionals mean by "average"

If it only takes the average person 7 minutes to fall asleep, I am well below average
Me delaying sleep to hear about a bald man talking about sleep.
You are more likely to fall asleep faster and enjoy better quality sleep when the person whispering to you is bald
He is an asmr version of Walter white, an egg, and someone that deals with Karen's at a car workshops
