I am thinking if you kept the zippers at the bottom, the water would have been less likely to get in. The way you had them, the gravity on that slope was pulling the water in, on that bottom slope it would likely continue down, because it would be going against gravity...
I have one very similar to this. I like it. I am able to carry my wallet, keys and various other small items and I can use the phone thru the cover with gloves on. I rode in the rain a couple of days ago and it did fine, everything was dry. This is my second bag. I got my bag free with my fiancé’s ebike purchase. She did not want it, so I took it. Glad I did.
if you notice you should have put the zips at the bottom ...you put them at the top...it will create a hole there ...if at the bottom...you will get a better result...thanks great vid...blessings mate
Really appreciate the feedback. Watching the video post uploading I had the same thought as well. I would say though, whatever position the zip is in, I believe the bag is still prone to moisture entering the bag and I would not take the risk of having the bag exposed during wet weather. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the encouragement and supporting the channel. The next review I'm working on is going to be a product from your home country so watch this space! 🇨🇦⛺
My phone overheated just the other day. First time ever. Very alarming but it was okay eventually. Otherwise I really like the bag I’ve been using it for eight months now and I basically would recommend it myself. I feel it’s better to have my phone in there for protection rather than my handlebar.
I'll add that I've owned this frame bag for over a year now and the condition is good as new. For the price it's a really great and useful storage solution.
@@TheNorthOutdoorsUK Actually, I haven't bought it yet, and eventually decided that I may buy it at some point in Christmas. But still, thank you for the comment, and with your video about it. Edit: How much did that bag cost at the time you've bought it?
it could come through where the hole is at the bottom where you put your phone cables through.. for the way he did the test by pooring water on it like that, it definetly would run down the sides, however in a normal rain condition, i doubt it would go through like that.
You might be right but since the bag is not waterproof the test was just to see how much of the water enters the bag. The bag held up really well in fact despite the odd position of the zips.
Good thinking, that'd be an unexpensive alteration RockBros should consider making to keep this bag watertight. Otherwise I have to mention that this bag has held up really well and I still use it on my longer rides.
Find someone to design and 3d print a hard version with a touch screen wrap at the top.. I plan on working on one for my Lectric 3.0.👍✌🖖🥃 Use a twist tie on the zippers after rubber coating them...
I didnt read all 50 posts but there's one obvious standout that you didnt mention. That is your frame is pretty much flat at the top which makes your bag much more stable / less rock. My and most bikes have a round top frame. So this bag is out as an option. I'll look for bag with a handle bar post attachment to help prevent any rock.
It doesn't make much of a difference, I've had this bag on my rounded frame bicycle and the stability depends on how tight you make the straps. That being said, there are top tube bags with special attachments for 3X the price so if money is not an issue there are options out there.
I got one today and found that on my Specialized Diverge the front bottom strap is just barely long enough to to get around my frame. I'm a little worried that this is going to make putting the bag on (after times I want it off) a bit of a hassle as I'll need to carefully thread just a very short piece of the strap through the hook.
Suggestion for the Noise from the Zipper Fobs. What if you take a couple of small Rubber Bands (U.S.Term) and wrap them around each one to make them so you don't have the hard material knocking together? Or, 2 pieces of Surgical Tubing like on a Sling Shot Band to slip onto the Fobs?
That's actually a really good simple DIY fix, nice idea. But can you imagine an integrated magnet that keeps the zips in place during riding? Even a moulded clasp on the bottom of the bag that the zips clip in to would suffice.
I bought one of these. I found it to be well priced and well made, but just a bit too wide for me. My knees keep clipping the bag, especially if I'm standing and cranking on the pedals. It's a shame, because I really liked the features and functionality. I've now got a smaller, narrower tt bag that doesn't hold nearly as much, but doesn't bother my knees. Cheers
You could be right, though other viewers have mentioned that had I positioned the zips at the bottom of the bag instead of on the side then the bag wouldn't have collected moisture. Either way, the bag isn't intended to be waterpoof so it would be harsh to criticise the design.
As it's been said the zips need to be at the bottom, as soon as you zipped it up and left it at the top i though thats probably going to leak as they need to be at the bottom.
Great video all questions i had you answered, i think it would increase the waterproofing if the zippers were down the bottom, im planning on getting a led lenser h19r signature light and running the cable and battery into the bag, can you try that head torch and do a review? comes with handel bar mount and 4000 lumens.
I think you might be right about the zippers being better positioned at the bottom for the test. It was a harsh test for what is only a water 'resistant' product but the bag held up really well. I'll take a look at the H19r too, Thanks for watching!
Not a worry, the torch comes with a Bluetooth wrist band that you can control the light with. Im wondering if i can mount it to the handle bars if i use the torch on my helmet. Im on country roads at night so i definitely need the 4000lm, another good thing i found is called a drop down mirror i think it only works on road bikes with drop down bars.
Hi John, thanks for checking out my video! The bike is a 2021 Himiway Cruiser and I paid 1700 euros brand new. Check out my 'Ebike Wild Camping Gear List' video for a brief description of the bike.
Anything loose attached to your frame will leave marks over time and this bag is no exception. The velcro straps have a very rough plastic feel to them and so I would recommend protecting your frame some way or other. I used black electrical tape on the frame since I use the bag very often.
I work for Rockbros and this is one of the most popular bags we sell. Nice review

Nice vids mate good channel 👍😁
I ordered this same bag. It is supposed to arrive tomorrow. Will see how it does.
Thanks for a Great review. Very Helpful!😊
Awesome review. You can kill the zipper rattle with a little Tommy Tape wrapped around the zips

the rain come inside because your zippers are on the top/front, not the rear/bottom side (behind the wind and gravity)..

Yes I agree the zippers closed at the at the bottom end 😊
Looking back at this video, I'd sat the improvement they could make would be an overhanging seam that covers the zip

I've found this to be the same problem for me. What bag did you find that worked better for you ?
Have you thought about pedal extenders? They're an affordable little add on that might give you more clearance between the top tube and your knees.
@@TheNorthOutdoorsUK I think I'm happy with my Q-factor. Switching to different bags seems to have done the trick! Cheers
im taking a big guess, but i think the water went through on the opening at the bottom part of the bag where phone wires can fit through
You could be right, though other viewers have mentioned that had I positioned the zips at the bottom of the bag instead of on the side then the bag wouldn't have collected moisture.

While attaching the bag, Did you cut the excess of velcro?
mine just got stolen yesterday. Any solution/ method to secure it permanently?
As it's been said the zips need to be at the bottom, as soon as you zipped it up and left it at the top i though thats probably going to leak as they need to be at the bottom.
do you think a jbl bluethooth speaker will fit in it? thanks in advance.
I want to ask, that front basket makes me want to have one, would you mind telling me the brand or purchase link? Thank You
It's a rad power bikes accessory. Check their website

I bought this bag today and funny enough I use the same phone so i know it fits. Have you noticed anything long term with it?
The bag has been brilliant and still looks and operates just as it did when I bought it new.
Do these bags take the paint from you're frame bike over time? is there a need to place protective tape over frame before using.
Anything loose attached to your frame will leave marks over time and this bag is no exception.
The velcro straps have a very rough plastic feel to them and so I would recommend protecting your frame some way or other.

First comment. Great vid 👍
Wich year its produced?
Purchased new last year so I can only guesstimate between 2020 and 2021
