Overhauling a 2016 Hyundai Sonata door side mirror (painted cap removal)

Yes you can separate the painted cap from the mirror housing. This video will show you how to do so.

I also recommend heating the mirror cover up along the edges with a heat gun. You just need a phillips head screwdriver and some patience.
