Bill Evans said that heroin quieted the voices in his head, bumped up his concentration and eliminated any stage fright that he once had. Unfortunately, he became an addict who was shooting up every hour, was unable to kick the habit and died a long, slow death with his body covered with needle marks.

Its true. i forget if it was Bird or Keith Richards who said its the best drug for stage fright, thats why i tried it. they were right. lukily i never got addicted to it, if my hip was bothering me id do it otherwise never really touch it. But yeah, stage fright wonderful for that, you dont need to do the amount to get happy, you only need the amount to not hurt or to be a bit more confident, not a euphoric sleepy monkey state of risk. nothing for creativity, but the ability to be able to be precise if its not overkill of a dose then yeah, its the performers drug. Just ask Jimmy Page Clapton Chuck Negron and Miles and Coltrane and Chet Baker and Art Blakey. not one died from it. its a bit to get the job done, unless you are a drug addict then yeah i suppose you may have no control in that case. but i wouldnt understand that, but ahh you never need hourly shots thats a guy chasing the rush. thats an addict. its active life where you feel it generally is the 4-6 hour mark. it aint long, its why speedballs kill people, because its at least triple as long as cocaine in action.
Heroin physically is the least destructive on the body cardiovascular system etc, aint kidney friendly but any drug you inject you can names worse in terms of immediate damage. you can be 90 and do heroin you cant be 90 and still be shooting meth or heroin or even ketamine long term. because of the bladder failure cumulatively. bit of smack, great performance drug, potency varies so much everyone overshoots it and does the just in case dose and then blames the drug. in terms of physical health out of all the rec drugs you can do 40 years of heroin. you cant do 40 years of iv meth and 300mg shots of blow, it doesnt happen. even in pillet fashion.
the war era subcue/im shit. but hey all the young cats are mixers, Gram Parsons was on tequila, cory monteith, champagne, janis joplin southern comfort. Phil lynott christmas celebrations. i mean c'mon heroin by itself doesnt kill most of these guys, i'm an upper guy i dont like it so i dont have the bias, its boring to me. i'm a shy kid, i needed the other stuff. so all these cats, man, nobody dying from heroin alone if that were the case william burroughs would be dead 907 times. Keith Richards couldnt tickle his shoes heroin wise.
if your tired its dangerous, if you drink its dangerous, yall on anything that has a respiratory effect, youre in trouble.
100 year olds can do opiates, but zero of them can do shots of meth or blow or ketamine or anesthetics like ketamine. (John C Lilly) remember the girl in the park but otherwise its never happened.
if you do metal music id say swallow one dexedrine or methedrine, if you did jazz or country i'd say 1-200 of smack. otherwise you'll get bouncy, cocaine gets people goofy, ruins musicianship. you dont know who makes coke or smack, you definitely know who makes amphetamine. play your cards right man.
depending on what the intention is. this video isnt even entirely factual. Check the Chet thing, yall know.
you aint creative on downers, you dont have the interest. its about whats in front of you, and if you play its the horn if it aint then no shit, its easy to sleep. dose specific.
14 hours ago i did it for hip pain, a tiny amount. no problem. done more, done less i get it.
but you gotta be specific if you are developing some critique, your word aint worth shit if you aint been there though.
i dont recommend it, but i'd recommend moderated to low dose heroin over cocaine and meth and speed any day over alcohol reefer and uppers in terms of longevity if its low key baby dosed, but it wont be,
gettin high and creativity, no..... thats acid, ket psilocybin datura and dmt and mescaline territory.
uppers or downers no thats just fun with excuses.

Facts. Problem is it doesn’t last and the negatives greatly outweigh the positives and you get sick as hell and can’t play at all

The jazz magazine, Down Beat, did an anonomys test with musicians. They played, they smoked weed, played againand then they listened to the recording. They said, when they were high, it sounded good to them. But when they heard the playback they all agreed their playing was worse.

Baker didn't die from drugs, he died from falling down a second story window on a sidewalk.

@Chaim Mendel He died from the fall not from taking drugs, it could've be suicide or could've been murder

Indeed, while high on heroin. I opened up for him in a CA club a few months before he died: he looked like a walking skeleton: grim death. Heartbreaking.

I'd guess you'd probably forget the standards?
I can totally attest that your technique goes away with alcohol. Intonation bye bye.
