Great to see someone using the old Poulan saws. I have a 4200 and a 5200. I love them both. Hope you show a few of the mods you do including the muffler.

Poulan runs very well ...nice ol craftsman axe I got a couple love them..great exercise and you get a good sence of accomplishment...great vid sir..👍🏻🤘🏻🪓
These old poulans seem to cut very well. Seem to be finicky based on the videos I've seen, but when they are running right, like this one and buckin's 5200, they give me the itch. I'd like a 5200 in the worst way. And I can't even rationalize why. I don't even burn wood anymore other than a couple face cord in a fire pit outside. I really don't need anything bigger than a homeowners saw. And a 5200 wouldn't do anything my echo 590 and 394xp don't already do for me. Doesn't mean I don't want a ported 357xp or Stihl 034 av. Or a ported 372xp. Locally there was someone parting with an 046 on marketplace for $300. They clearly didn't know what they had. They had it listed as a C46, The '0' had some sticker missing. It was dirty and neglected but apparently it ran and cut fine, claimed it was too big. Probably got it on a trade. If i didn't just order 90% of the Christmas shopping this week, it'd be in my garage.
Yeah there's something just irresistible about old iron I tell ya! I get it ;) I agree, these old reed valve saws can be finicky, but a thorough "going thorough" & they're usually pretty solid. Are you here in Washington state? I swear I saw a saw like that "C" 046 listed locally not long ago.

Is that saw all original or restored at a point?
All original. I opened up the inner baffle in the muffler, but bone stock other than that.
