Yep that’s as minimal as you can get. The sad part is the power box costs more than the modules! You did a nice job! For technicaly three pieces ( you have to include the sequencer), I loved it. When I bought my 100 system I wanted every single module and two 112s and it’s a great way to kill time! Adding a Neutron and a 2600 you can do just about anything. That’s 11 oscillators and not a real expensive rig. Didn’t stop there but a smart person could have! Lol
just started building a modular. Plan is to go as cheap as possible. I'm using the behringer 2x VCA and 2x envelope with the LFO (like the one in the video), with a 4ms Ensemble. With a minibrute and old guitar pedals to fill in loose ends. seems worth it.
@@mata_ funny part is, minibrute was ONLY used as midi-to-cv, sequencing, and audio out. I did modify it and added a LFO out, which i used pretty often until I got a PNW. But I'm just bored of subtractive synthesis in general. Sick of it, really. I'm really enjoying my setup of the Ensemble and now recently, a bunch of doepfer a-110-4 vcos. Anyways, I loved your minimal setup. There's a lot of fun pushing one like that to it's limits. Brings out the creativity.
I much approve of this little setup. I gave up on powered cases (too expensive) and have started building my own and use the Behringer CP1A power supply. Perhaps a bit overkill for such a small rack, but still cheaper! By the way, no point adjusting the "delay" on the LFO because it needs a trigger in 🙂. But a great demo to show of how well these 100 series modules (still) sound. And yes, the tuning knob is definitely a problem with the 110. It is so easy to accidentally hit it and detune the lot. A shame roland never put a "random" setting on their LFO in the 140 or the 150, having both the sine and triangle wave is unnecessary, and it would have given you immediate access to some S&H like behaviour. They did this in their later synths.
actually, now i am thinking about that $90 behringer curved triple row 80HP rack. like the two Least Expensive 80HP synths are the 1) Kobel Expander, and 2) the TORO...just add 3 ) the Syncussion SY-1 when behringer releases it. then re-patching isn't so much....the drums and bass being direct tweak........( and OMG, the Arturia Beat Step Pro is the Same Width !!!! ) ... would that be nuts or what? the problem is, i am in the middle of building new guitar rig.
It ain’t about you tube …. Man i post dog stuff because I’m a animal lover .. and a alcoholic fuelled tro8 30 second thing .. ( what I’m saying is most of my Dj friends etc and music minded people don’t post … ) just get your beats together that YOU enjoy and 😅hapdays perfect ,,,?!!✌️
actually, that looks pretty good what you have there ...i bet that's less than a Plasma Voice, and looks a little more modular....i would have to hear both. i am still thinking that 80HP Behringer SY-1 ( kick snare synth ) and a sequencer module would be part of a first go .... but the SY-1 isn't even out yet.
The fact that even this miniature case sells for over 100€, tells you everything you need to know about the insanity of premade Eurorack cases. Fucking plywood cases that cost several hundred dollars....
Yeah, cases are the biggest ripoff with modular. A decent empty case costs as much as regular monosynth (and even some polysynths). I build my own using redwood and aluminium angle strips for less than $40, but even the cheapest power supply will set you back over $100.
yeah i did a lot of research about that and it turns out that they fit perfectly. there is actually not much space but they fit great. I recommend buying the powered case.
Hey! Yes it runs mono output. I use the beat step pro sequencer sending CV. But you can get a midi to cv adapter as-well it will work either way. Thanks for your comment
Game Changer Audio just released the PLASMA VOICE !!! ...it's 412 EUR, but a complete synth voice module. but i still don't know when the Behringer Syncussion SY-1 is coming out yet, but that will be Less Than 200 USD.....i think i would try for those two, and a good sequencer module to start
Love the sounds coming from your setup ! Might be a good (cheap) intro into the modular world ! May i ask you something please ? The 4ms website gives a maximum depth of 33mm. Does these two behringher modules fit right ? (they seem to judging on your video)
Yeah super affordable way to start into modular synth. Yes, I was worried about them not fitting in the case but turns out it is a perfect fit. So If you’re looking to get it, I highly recommend it for any 32hp modules, cheers!
@@mata_ hello, may I ask you something else please ? I am really tempted to dive in the modular universe and I am considering the same 2 modules you chose. Is there a need for additionnal attenuators to combine them with other non-eurorack gear ? (Through an analog mixing table for instance)
Cool, the Arturia keyboard is doing a lot of difference I think. I've bought many more modules of the same series, and they wouldn't make these sounds. I thought you made your synth by the title...I mean, built every module 😄
Yo I'm not sure if you've heard, but I would check out "Behringer: The Edgelords of Music Production" by Benn Jordan just to stay informed. You have the modules already, no sense in getting rid of them, they're very useful, but I would recommend watching the video before you buy more of their stuff.

Somehow this was completely mesmerizing. From the sounds to the subtle hand movements during the unboxing. Well done!

Amazing setup, love the Minibrute sound, and even more if processed with guitar pedals to give it such a wonderful warmth.

Grab yourself a Doepfer fx insert. Great for adding a pedal chain.
I've wanted a 100m system since I first became aware of them, around '83.
I plan to use the same setup for minimal stuff. I like it.

Thanks.
And very nice sounds from just two modules
Thanks!
Oh never mind I see it’s the best step. Sounds great! Thank you for the video

This is so cool! Great great tune! Earned a sub :D

Nice. I have a Behringer System 100m clone that is awesome to jam with.

Great music and great video.
Thnaks for sharing! 👍

such a cool little modular setup! Those two work so nicely together. sounds awesome! subbed!
I see no cable from envelope to VCA? How the VCA is controlled?
Oh... i see now the arrow, it comes int. from VCF. 😄
yeah! the VCF is connected int to the VCA.
Such a powerful little beast !
Yeah! I love it, this is a great synth to start into modular. Cheers!
@@mata_ and the rabbit hole begins, into your wallet of course
I have a complete system too. But really can't create what TH-cam users can. Feel pretty crap about that 😢 beginning to regret it.
Keep experimenting with sounds, FX's, sequences weird sounds. Sound design is the most exciting part in my opinion.

Is all audio coming from the tiny modular or are the drums coming from elsewhere?
Are you running the vca out to the roland external audio port?

Behringer eurorack go is kinda only reasonable option now, or second hand tiptop audio Mantis.

Cr8audio nifty comes with psu, cv and midi and USB for about 160 UK.
@@maccagrabme 200€ for a 84hp case, no thanks.
Although I admit, the added bonus of midi/cv is a good idea
Well done.
Beat’s dope!
My biggest concern was the depth. The pod32 apparently has 34mm depth whereas the Behringer modules are more than 40mm deep. How did they even fit?

What are you using for the drum sequencer??
You could have gotten a microfreak for the same price 🙋♂️ thinking this is modular is crazy its just one synth voice
From where comes the drums in this set?
From the TR8S
apart from the TR8S drum sounds, are all sounds coming from the behringer modules ?
yes!
Two questions about that: does it run in mono (output) and how get i midi into this (is a midi to cv needed)?
Thanks for sharing with us!
Hey! Yes it runs mono output. I use the beat step pro sequencer sending CV. But you can get a midi to cv adapter as-well it will work either way.

All a modular synth needs to do is bleep, and I’m satisfied.
hahaha for sure
from where come from the fx? From the tr?
yes from the TR8S

is the behringer powered by the beatstep?
The beatstep sends gate and pitch to the behringer module.
Can this transmit to aliens?
gotta tune these things every time don't you?
Not really, stays in the tune.
