I paid $5,837 for insurance in 2023 on a small 1278 (A/C space) square foot one story home in West Palm Beach plus another $600 for flood insurance. Can't wait to see what this year's premium will be. Insane!

I’m pretty close to the Jax area which honestly ain’t too different from parts of sc prob the cost of living isn’t too bad here I came from Nashville it’s more expensive there but I like it although if u want seasons then go sc while we do get cold here u get the feel of seasonal weather more in sc I almost moved there instead of Florida but decided ultimately Florida bc I like the warmer weather I will say In Florida living inland is a lot cheaper

Thank you for the insight! I’ve heard recently that Jacksonville is one of the milder areas when it comes to weather and costs.

Some parts of Florida are now concrete jungles. The quality of life declines when communities with limited land are forced to build up, up, up, instead of spreading out the populations and building out. For that main reason, I'm moving to Greenville SC from Coral Springs, FL.

I live in FL and travel back to PA where I am originally from to visit family. I’ve stayed along Storm Thurmond Blvd in Columbia and just off I-385 in Greenville. I just came back to FL from PA after spending the night in Greenville this past weekend. Not only is it a good over halfway point back to FL, but I wanted to see what the area was like again.
I am not happy with FL anymore, especially after Hurricane Idalia almost hit my house last year (it’s always the I storms). I’m tired of the high cost of living, the higher home values, high insurance rates, etc. I am seriously considering on relocating north again and thinking about Greenville SC. Not a fan of the fact that you guys have to pay property tax on your vehicle like you do your house but you do have overall lower cost of living than we do, and the lower gas prices.

BTW, I pay just under $1,400 per year for my homeowners insurance for about $192,000 worth of insurance. I live just north of Gainesville. When I bought my house in 2018 it was $770 for context. I pay $1,900 in property Tex per year for a lot less than a half acre. While I am in a “city limit”, I am not in a city like Gainesville it’s more of a town with 6,000 people in it.

I live in FL and am considering moving to the Lexington area of SC because of the cost of living here. Don't worry locals, I am Republican!
