    Thank you for this lesson. I was wondering why the formula for magnetic force, uses sine and not cos for example.

      Because you need to get the cross product of the two vectors. Getting the component of the 1st vector perpendicular to the 2nd vector which is obtained by multiplying their magnitudes and sine of the angle between them.

    A proton having a charge of 1.6×10 travel with a speed of 7.5×10 m/s enters a uniform external magnetic field of strength 45 T at an angle 45°.What will be the magnetic force acting on the proton?

    @ 2:15 formula for magnetic force is wrong, F=qvxB without sin, what you wrote is the magnitude, if the "x" sign means regular product.

      T = 1kg.s^-2A-1
      1C= 1A/s
      If you do the math , m comes out

    The hand drawing at 1:18 is misleading. It should be the index, middle finger, annular, and pinky, pointing in the V direction. Then one curls them to point in the B direction. The thumb points out of the page, which yields the direction of F.

      You’re mixing up different versions of the right hand rule. He’s using a version where the thumb represents velocity, and the palm represents the direction of force on a proton.

      What ian said, there are multiple variations of these rules. I was taught two methods, one by my school teacher and one by my tutor.

    sin theta is not part of the vector form of the equation
    Sin theta is only used for magnitude
