I quite like El Alamein, when it came out it was quite different from the majority of maps. It had problems, far worse than it does today - the British launch was shaky at best to begin with (badly sighted weapons was the worst culprit but far from the only problem they had) and MG42 lasers ruled the hills as the map was even more barren than it is now. It just requires a different method of play and thought behind movement. When its popping its really good.
That gameplay is a good representation, i think when the new players get 4 or 5 games like that on the trot that is what puts them off and they stop playing. I can get old fast that's for sure
2 pointers - 1.The marker on watchtower was "reinforce". Commander places it to double your teams capture rate x2. 2. Personal stats is located bottom left of scoreboard. Click on it with your mouse to view all your stats, ingame or after match.
10:18 that was the p4 tank that got you. That loud winding sound all around you it was very close. I think that’s why that guy was prone 😅 If you keep playing eventually you’ll get to understand what’s going on by sound alone. Very useful for hitting the dirt when tanks are near
😂😂 Deffs subscribing to your channel mate, I haven’t laughed like that for a while and your reaction to it, priceless.. Don’t beat yourself up too much mate everyone can relate to it, like getting the worst timing or just missing your target by a millimeter. Most of the time when this map comes up I just bee line it for a rifle.
Simon, the Bren Gun is actually an excellent “Sniper Rifle” on this map. Move less and lie prone on hilltops, in shadows of rocks, etc.. Bren hits HARD and has a pretty awesome range. Also only fire in bursts of 2-3 rounds (tap trigger) then DISPLACE immediately!!! I can’t emphasize this enough: maching gunners should ALWAYS move after a burst or two (on ALL maps not just El Alamein). Hope that helps. El Alamein IS a rough map but with time you can at least get some kills too.

HLL is my favorite at the moment. I want to learn Arma Reforger but HLL is the perfect balance between strategy and shooter. I've played Reforger but I had no idea what was happening. It onky took me a week or so to understand HLL enough to be effective
Yeah, i'm not sure what everyone sees in Arma.Reforger? It looks like a cool enough game, but it's so darn slow and from the videos i've watched with TH-camrs, I couldn't see myself getting into that at all.
It's a decent map if you know how to play it. Stay in cover, look if the next position is clear, then move, rather than just running, u are a beacon to the enemy and they will see u moving. Head down, no rush❤
This map looks tricky as hell! I've not played it yet, but I was looking forward to it. I remember this map on Battlefield 1942, one of my absolute favourites. It was helped by the fact you could fly over it in a Lancaster bomber! Or use a janky jeep and charge between spawn points. After watching your video I'm going to be a lot more careful playing it on HLL.
Had my 1st cracking game on Friday.lots of kills and ops taken out ,tank repairs and even took a node out. So much fun while it lasted. Only got 5h on game it’s a huge learning curve this game.
I was so excited for El Alamein (my great uncle fought there) and was SO disappointed by the map and the British forces in general. It's a MG/snipers/cheaters paradise, people stream to their 2nd screens and zoom in so an MG can have the zoom of a sniper... As average classes and honest players its virtually unplayable.
I like HLL because it has a great balance between a head clicking shooter (COD) verses full Milsim (Squad, ARMA), that relys more on teamwork and strategy. Downside is HLL is to some degree the same things - it relys on teamwork and strategy. But on public servers especially (particularly after free or sale weekend) to get people to talk and work as a team, who are willing to work together to build Garries or defend points which are the key elements of the game. I don't know what your mouse DPI is, but suggest lowering a little to help aim. El Alamain is a tough map for infantry - just like the real battle! You need to take advantage of every little depression in the ground and crawl a lot. Stay in any cover you can, then push as a group using smoke, including arty smoke with tank support. But it's tough for sure. And as I've mentioned before, stop running everywhere! Stop laydown and observe..kill the baddies and only then run across open ground. You got smashed by enemies who were easy to spot if you slow down, rather than charging headfirst into battle. It never ends well.
I swear 90% of these new players not only play without a microphone but don't even play with other voice on. No team chat or proximity voice. I can't tell you how many times I I'd be yelling at a random SL saying I have supplies for a Garry and they act as if I'm not even there. Then I put it in the chat, ignored. Then I shoot the ground next to them, ignored. Then I put a round into them, they don't even turn around. They heal up, run to the objective and die. Followed by my death lol.
Urg playing infantry in El Alamein is horrible - best off building an AT gun and just sitting on a hill waiting for juicy targets but yeah its difficult map and not played much on rotation for obvious reasons
No game will give you so much joy, but some games just piss you off! The better you get, the more fun you have, but the more miffed you’ll be when your team loses! BTW, one of the best maps in the game!

Thanks mate I didn’t know the markers on the map.

It's been shit last few day full of radio silence players and nobs running around ruining it for me at moment 😂
How do others ruin it? I do not understand this concept. Sounds like a personal problem to be frank.

At least you know it's not an algorithm screwing you over. Nice to have a new favourite game dude
Cheers for putting these videos out. Really enjoyed your honest approach to your experiences, the positive AND negative
thanks buddy remember to SMASH that like button.

Historically the SMLE lee Enfield is a good rifle sights are not brilliant but should be accurate

Hard map, but good game brother. Loving the energy.

Dreadful map,the worst of the lot.
@@GrouchoMarx-MaGeorge just like in real life lol
I just hope the new tobruk map is nothing like this 😂

You could pull off a Co Stompe haha 🎯 🐿️🐿️
Any tips in the settings for making the game run better. It seems poorly optimized when I loaded it but I have a 3070.
Have your FOV at 90 mate plus you can see enemies better
Most matches are like this newbies ruining it 😂😂
Big open maps. The villages are more fun to play. Europe campaign.
Go slower on it, be sneaky, and snipe. Only shoot if you got the shot.
@Simonb1471 8:20 you MISSED multiple times AND IT IS A sh*t MAP.
