      And Trump is polarizing but the NFL and the NBA gets ratings and are more popular than ever this era as well. Wrestling just not pop like the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s was because they don't want to make a star bigger than the company

      Lot of the matches nowadays don't make sense, the guys are more athletic now but some of these body flipping moves don't look right and you know that they either wouldn't hurt in real life or would hurt the guy doing it more. We need solid openers and mid carders who aren't trying to steal the show with a 5* match. Guys don't have good ring psychology now.

    Tony is exactly right. When I watched wrestling in the 80s and 90s your premier wrestlers would be showcased against the floppers. People fell in love with their favorite wrestler. The only way you saw two premier wrestlers compete against each other is live at the match or sometimes a special would come on TV. Today's wrestling has no anticipation and no juice because there is no separation and excitement having another premier wrestler coming from one company to another. Vince Mcmahon has ruined wrestling with monopolization and parity.

    As a wrestling fan since the mid 80's in my opinion sadly Wrestling today is painful to watch. It's running on fumes basically. We see that just by them bringing the old timers in order to gain some views. Abundance of wrestlers that bring no value, just randome people.. 80% of them look out of shape no where near what you expect a wrestler to look like.

  • @KEICRUMBIE

    It's fair to say that both eras were the most memorable and they are, meaning Hogan's era and Austin and The Rock. In my opinion, Hogan was the guy, Hogan has and will always be number one because he changed wrestling forever. He started the tv show appearances, the action figures, Sports Illustrated covers, movies. He broke those barriers for pro wrestling. I witnessed it all and The 80s, with Hogan is at the top. Wrestlemania 18 is a prime example. Hogan took back the house and company that he took to the highest level.

    Wrestling is not suffering because of Trump. That's insane. The Rock is a much bigger star than Hogan ever was. He has fans who have never even thought about watching wrestling. The real problem is the elephant in the room. It's the death of Kayfabe! When we were kids we were emotionally attached to wrestlers because we thought it was real. I cried real tears when Don Morocco and Mr. Fuji assaulted Ricky Steamboat. I believed that they tried to kill this man in national TV. Kids today, partially because of channels like this, know that it's scripted and the guys are just putting on a show.
    Magicians were big before tricks started to be revealed to the public.
    You can't close that door once it's been opened.

  • @maxxxmodelz4061
    @maxxxmodelz4061 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I have to agree with Tony on one thing. Hogan has to be #1 as the biggest name in Pro Wrestling ever. You can say Austin sold more merch or Rock made more money, but I was there for Hulkamania from the very start, and I was there for Austin and Rock. There was NOTHING like the original Hogan era. He was an absolute superstar. Even old ladies who never watched wrestling knew Hulk Hogan's name. If you ask anyone who never was into Pro Wrestling or ever watched it over the age of 35 to name one Pro Wrestler, 90% of them will say Hulk Hogan. The man was synonymous with wrestling and still is. When Hulk would enter the arenas back at the start of Hulkamania, the place would explode!! It was absolutely insane.

    • @maxxxmodelz4061
      @maxxxmodelz4061 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I should also mention that Hulk transcended wrestling like no one else ever did too. I've been into the bodybuilding and powerlifting worlds respectively during my time and there are dozens of athletes in power sports, big name guys in those areas, who do not hesitate to say they were inspired as kids by Hulk Hogan. The whole "eat your vitamins and say your prayers, brother" gimmick really inspired so many young people back in the 80s to go on and become something later on. You can't really say that for Austin just by nature of his gimmick. The Rock made a bigger name for himself in Hollywood than wrestling, so it remains to be seen the impact he has had on the youth of the 90s and early 2000s, but Hogan's impact was undeniable.

  • @yahkibenyehuda4255

    Dan excludes inflation when he compares things today versus yesterday. The WWF had three shows going at the same time during the Hulkamania years and multiple shows a week. You cannot compare it to Austin's era with only two shows a week. Also the entire platform in the 80's was built off of Hulk. Austin had a multitude of wrestlers to help him maintain what he had, UT, The Rock, DX and others. Hogan was the biggest draw easily and provided the platform that is still being used today.

    Love you Tony and I love John Wayne but I think the Rock is just as well known as John Wayne and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Tony's right about Trump, hes electrifying you either love him or hate him and he knows how to get your attention. I'm not a fan of Trump but hes the best heel on TV right now. Watch Eric Bishoff's TED Talk

      @Vince Williams We need an enemy in this country to unite us. Maybe someone should create one, even if it's not even real. Like how Oceania did with Goldstein in the book 1984.

    Vince and WWE make Stars then they choose to work with thier own brand. They can make money selling Wine or Movies or Put thier bodies on the line daily for a Monthly Pay day. Which would you choose??? We have lost the Town and Communtity life as everyone is online. Everything gets compared to every other out there. Makes it very hard to return. Just like Live band dances or bars ect,

    Aaand though some of his points get EXAGGERATED(that’s what makes him SOO ENTERTAINING 🤔👍). I believe him about the Government you bet. He knows what he’s talking about there. He’s so entertaining eeeven when I don’t agree with him which sorta often. He’s just it all comes from the heart. And even when he’s wrong he never lies. I don’t think so. Maybe some “Embel-shiring”😂👍. I wanna see that T SHIRT guys👍. Gotta check your merch.

    I hear the sound of people clicking unsubscribe! Tony, if you want to keep this gig you need to stop talking about politics. We watch things like this to get away from politics and even after being told over and over to stop you keep going! Oh, your nose has been stuffed for 20 years! You may want to have that looked at. As far as Ted, other wrestlers have been on record saying he still sleeps around and is full of shit!
