How to Approach a Coin Dealer at a Coin Show!

- In this episode, Drew heads to the Grapevine Coin Show around Dallas Texas to hunt for numismatics(coins) and talk with his favorite dealers. He shows off some nice coins, interviews some dealers, and eats some nice BBQ to celebrate after to celebrate. The topic of todays episode is how to approach coin dealers at the show correctly to create long term relationships over short term gain. Drew discusses that relationships in the coin hobby are necessities for long term success. As a result, he advises you to stop and enjoy some time talking with the dealers instead of focusing on buying solely. In time, dealers will care about your success and offer you coins that others may not have the opportunity to buy.

I just saw your video for the first time and I am really impressed. I am subscribing to your channel. Just one word of advice: you might want to edit out any political commentary by other dealers. As I have so rudely found out, half my friends voted for you-know-who and they do not want to hear anything negative. I would imagine half your viewers might feel the same way, even though everyone talks about Freedom of Speech. Cheers.

Drew, please buy more junk silver from the shows. I know you like the toned and key dates but you have to put some fun junk in your store as well for people to buy. You have a great eye for coins and you will keep getting better at it. It takes time and use all of your younger generation skills to sell coins to the masses for the older guys that are just learning how to use a cell phone with a touchscreen on it. :)

El Cajon Coin Show in San Diego Jan 16th.....first show here in 2 years
What show is that? Is that the Heartland Coin show? There website is still showing a tentative date sometime in May 2022. Any info would be appreciated.
@@don951 The next Heartland show is in May. Some guys here decided to try and set up a show in January at the same place...Ronald Reagan Center in El Cajon on Sunday, January 16th. At last count, about 30 dealers from SD and LA area have signed on

Well, apparently I went to the wrong show last weekend. Haha. The Schertz coin show was packed!
We went to the Schertz show as well, we stopped by around at 12:30.
@@AcoushaCollectibles missed you by 30 minutes. I was out by noon. Talked with Blake's father for a bit and got a few nice dimes to use in an upcoming video.
I will definitely have to watch out for that video. It stinks we missed each other, maybe next time.

I would recommend not assuming that all numismatists and coin buyers are conservative. You will lose viewers and customers that way.
We don’t assume all numismatists are conservatives. We just don’t mind sharing our opinions occasionally despite who may watch the video.
I enjoy working with anyone even if they don’t agree with me politically. If they have a problem, it’s something they have to work out on their own.
