BTW, if you get back to the Albemarle Sound head west to Edenton, NC. Very nice historic town that is well worth the side trip. We spent a few months in the marina there when we were cruising.
We keep our boat on the York river just north of there! Sarah’s creek and the mob jack bay have some very protected anchorages! Hope to see you guys at the boat show.
@Brendan-i6w Loved Sarah Creek when we cruised in the 2000s. Our 5 year old son met a playmate that lived there so it became a regular stop on our way north and south each year.
Awesome video! Great meeting you both. Hopefully see you soon. I’m with you Bret, it’s frustrating when I need 1 tool and it makes our cockpit look like a yard sale to get it!
Bar keepers friend is a powered cleaner in a shaker can. Looks like Comet cleanser. It contains a chemical that is very effective at cleaning metal parts. Use an old toothbrush.😊
So no camera action in the beginnings of the Elizabeth River and past many ship yards and probably not the best looking water you've ever seen. But you got to downtown Norfolk and over to the Peninsula (Hampton/Newport News/Poquoson+) @ Langley AFB. You guys take it slow and easy (no thanks to the wind right?) and that's a cool vibe. Oh yeah, Va. Beach (because of the Jets @ Oceana) the slogan is, "I ❤Jet Noise" (and made bumper sticker a thing again back when). See you down river. P.S. Subscribed!
Would have liked to meet you in Norfolk to pick your brain about learning to sail but I was in N Michigan and the U.P. while you were here. Fair winds and following seas.
Hey we're happy to answer any questions you might have. You can email me at bret@bretandmarisa.com or just leave a comment here! We can make a video about it if there's enough questions
Butyl tape is great. But I don't think it is necessary for vertical surfaces like hinges. It is good for horizontal surfaces to prevent water intrusion. Love your posts..
You two are such a hoot!
Nice to see your friendship with Patrick and Michaela!
They rock! Thanks we're glad you think we're funny haha
You're just so cute ( in a down to earth, honest way) it brings a smile to my face! 😊
@@deborahhandyside2491 thank you!

That's a good tip, we're currently hauled out in belhaven NC doing some bottom work
Liking your videos more and more.
At least we're headed in the right direction! Happy to have you here

We're moving over to the mooring field tomorrow so hopefully we'll get to be around and hangout more often
@@Bretandmarisa Nice!
I was in the navy at Norfork VA. In 1968 love that area
That's awesome! We're you on an aircraft carrier? Thank you for your service

Just go to the Delaware canal and go out at cape may. Then its a 3 day sail to Rhode Island and protection there and another canal to save time
That's a good idea
RE: "good rest" I hope they are not night flying this week so you can get some sleep.
They stopped flying during the night! Although I love them! They could fly all day long and I'd be just fine haha
the washer might work better on the inside of the lid to keep the bolt from pulling through the fiberglass.
the screw head counter sinks into the hinge

I figured, why not put it on there. Maybe it would help with rattling or something too
The plane was a C5M
I'll have to look that up, so cool!
