@wardogmobius That is the factory Mazda compression tester for a rotary engine. It is one way to make sure that no side or corner seals are sticking before installing the engine but a standard compression tester isn't capable of producing an accurate compression reading on a rotary engine.
does all the rotary gurus paint the housing blue??? because my engine is rebuilt by a rotary guru and i noticed he painted the housing the EXACT same color.

so that small thing puts out 100+horsepower? thats amazing.
No that big compared to most snowmachine engines, like my 2009 Arctic cat 600 make 120 HP sea level

its engine rx8 192 or you put the box of vittesse 192CH
