Bedford Walk: Town Centre【4K】

Well the most remarkable thing about this, is how little Bedford has changed since I was last there in 1992. A real time warp. Embankment looks pretty as always.....Although thankful to now be in Australia and away from the place.

Also watching this from Sydney (lived in Oakley from 1980-1994 and Biddenham from 1999-2007). Compared to the 1985 video drive-through that's on TH-cam - it's striking how few people there are walking around the shopping areas in this. In 1985, the town was swarming with people (and cars)..

Thanks for filming and posting. I was born in Bedford. Moved to Melbourne in 2001. Not a lot has changed. Just many shops now closed.

American Air Force at RAF Chicksands, Oct. 1972 to Feb, 1973. Familiar sights. St. Paul's open market (Wednesday?), Great River Ouse embankment. Changes on High Street. Different shops.

I was born 8 miles north of Bedford town in place called Chawston near black cat roundabout hardly recognise it now left in 2004 bound for Wrexham in North Wales though I was 45 years Bedford bred born I feel more Welsh now!!!!!!

You can't miss it, it comes in one end and goes out the other. Bisects the town nicely.
