A sheer masterpiece especially at Brenda's young age. Definitely one of the greatest singers in music history.

They called her "Little Miss Dynamite". She was 4'9" and sang like a professional even at at 13 years old.

I fell in love with your reaction review on this Wonderful song. Brenda Lee, truly is one of my favorites singers. I love that sad and dark lonely country type of music from that era. I wish you can do another reaction video of Brenda Lee- You can depend on me.

She was 15 years old when she recorded this. Singer Brenda Lee, known as “Little Miss Dynamite,” has enjoyed success as a child performer, teen idol, easy-listening chanteuse, and country music queen, sustained through each of these career transformations by a powerful voice that belies her diminutive stature (four feet, nine inches tall).

Wonderful choice and reaction Lizzie! Since you enjoy the clarity and power of Brenda Lee's vocals, another female artist you should check out as part of your 1960s reactions is Timi Yuro and her 1961 hit "Hurt" -- just as powerful as Brenda, perhaps even more so, it's a terrific song. Thanks for the double uploads today -- love your channel! 👍

She recorded this song in 1960 at Bradley Studios, I was 3 when I first heard it on the car radio, my Mom promptly bought the record, us kids wore it out!! The musicians were part of the "A" team with the legendary Floyd Cramer at the piano!!

Late 50's recommendations - Tommy Edwards - "It's All in the Game" (smooth voice), The Ponytails - "Born Too Late" (great sax), The Platters - "Twilight Time" (great lead singer Tony Williams), Robert and Johnny - "We Belong Together" (great vocal duet).

Brenda Lee did an English version of the song "La Vie En Rose", which was a hit in French by French singer Edith Piaf. It was the title of a biopic film on Edith Piaf's life. A beautiful song sung beautifully by Brenda Lee; highly recommend.

Brenda Lee was the too selling female singer in the 1960s. Only Presley, the Beatles, and Ray Charles sold more recordings than she did.
