I'm in the UK and even I know in the US you've got to be given a trespass warning first and IF you go back onto the property,THEN you have to give ID..And of course we all know you can't be trespassed off public property without a CRIME!

The school is not public property, it is the property of the board of education. You can be trespassed from the property.
In this situation they are issuing a written trespass order. So yes he had to provide his information.

There is no such thing as a quasi public property. In Tennessee you only have to identify if you break a law, likewise you cannot trespass a person from public property minus a crime.

I support auditors, but depending on what school that was, I have no issue with a ban being placed on an individual who refuses to leave or returns after being asked to leave. I don’t think the general public should have a right to walk around videotaping in the parking lot of an elementary school. There are time manner restrictions for a reason. Both the place and the manner are not appropriate for non-limited public access.
