    As someone who is also on the spectrum, I have reached a point where I no longer mind being excluded or feeling out of place. I have found comfort and enjoyment in doing things independently and have no desire to conform to social expectations. I understand that everyone has their own preferences, but these are mine.

      I’m there sometimes, but I still waver and want to be included in typical ways

    That was AMAZING, Sam!!! In the words of Bono, "Whenever I see grace, I'm moved". No need to worry about being cool. You look cool, sound cool, and talk cool! They need to catch up! Good luck to you and Bianca!

    Very well spoken! Some people use many words with no meaning at all, to me every word you said was meaningful. Thank you

      Tends to be a common autistic trait. To only say something, or add to conversation when you have something of substance to offer. I can definitely relate.

    I'm so proud of you! Thank you so much for sharing your story! I am an SLP and there are several people in my family with all different versions of Autism. You were endearing, concise, entertaining and informative. You are so brave to speak in front of a crowd. I'm blown away! My best to you! You are doing great things! Miss DB:)

    So happy to hear someone advocating for this community and you are right… we all have our way of seeing the world and we all have our own quirks … autism is a different perspective of the world but we all have our own perspective

    "I'm an average teenager," sorry mate but you are not an average teenager, if you were you wouldnt even need to say those words. "We're all a little autistic" thats like saying "we're all a little paraplegic because if you run your legs get tired." I get that people dont want to be pessimistic but we have to be honest about Autism.

    Yes those with Autism, are more like us than different. And yes we all are slightly autistic

    • @AutisticNotAlien
      @AutisticNotAlien 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

      We are *not* all 'slightly autistic'. This belief is so unhelpful, as it invalidates the genuine struggles that actually autistic people deal with every day of their lives. Autism isn't a quirk or a label to be claimed - it's a neurological difference. Samuel's video is great, minus the 'we're all a bit autistic' view.
