If you ever revisit this idea perhaps you could try incorporate "nano-tape". It doesn't use adhesive, per say. The way it's made, it increase the numbers of contacts point on a surface on a molecular level (similar to a gecko's feet) and it sticks to wall due to the Van Der Waals' force, so not only it sticks but it doesn't slide and you can easily remove it, if you apply the force correctly. Theoretically, if you have a strong enough material to attach nano-tape too or even if you could somehow make a full suit out of it (perhaps boots and elbow high glove would make more sense) it could work... just an idea.

Do you think this could qualify for some kind of world record? Maybe something like "fastest time to climb a completely vertical wall with no holds" or something.

Not gonna lie, normally I’m not a fan of how a lot of the finished designs of some of your projects look or function. But this, blew me away. Insane man, insane. Congrats
This is massively impressive. The only way you can get better with this is some sort of AI and a few hundred of these little suction units. The AI would pretty much know when you are trying to move. I am literally jumping up and down from the excitement. I love engineering only for this reason, the fact that you can create stuff like this is incredible. I never took it because it was just too tough for me, and I don't fully regret it because I can appreciate it for what it is, but the fact that I can't create these things myself makes me envy it a little haha. Congratulations with this man, I'm truly inspired by this
You reminded me of a guy that invent his own flying suit, and decided to test it out by jumping down from the Eiffel Tower. You put soo much trust in your invention and I salute you for that.
this is the first video ive watched from your channel.. i thought you were just a "maker of things" but man...this channel is something else. crazy how you scaled that building without stopping halfway and freezing up and making those 2 actual construction workers come save you (which is what i would have done)
Damn this was inspiring to watch. Pretty ingenious tech there and courage to go through with that wall climb. Respect man! In terms of next build Shang Chi's 10 rings come to mind. Even a Thor Hammer or Thor Stormbreaker flying and coming back to you, maybe with lightning effect lol
He could make the rings huge ring magnets in the opposite direction of each other to repel and open up across the arm. Each one could have a string connected to the next so there's tension and pressure when all rings on one arm are pushed out. 🤷 Would need strong magnets though
This is the first time in history someone actually climbed a whole building like spider-man dressed in a spider-man costume and was successful I still can’t believe it
Watching the ending; when Jake was climbing the skyscraper, was just above inspiration. Truly powerful. One of the most motivating engineering - Make It Real video I have ever watched.
Dude as far as I'm concerned this just solidified your place as one of the greatest human inventors ever, no joke. Your previous body of work was already stellar, but you knocked it out of the park with this one my friend.
He can make literally anything happen and I love it and he's not just making this for the videos, he is also inspiring other people to make their own beautiful creations
Here's my proposal we get a bunch of the biggest engineering channels together like Hacksmith Industries, Mark Rover, JLaser (obviously), Allen Pan, and William Osman then in a huge collab they work together on possibly making a spiderman suit with working wall climbers and web shooters you can swing from. The biggest thing about this is some of these guys have already made some of the seperate pieces and parts to spiderman's suit. But with all of them together they could improve these and then put them altogether in a real spiderman suit❤❤❤
This is the reason I want to do engineering... literally gives you superpowers! Absolutely love seeing every video of yours. Someday I hope I will be able to make half the things you do.
@@milanmb2780 I'd say general engineering / design engineering because projects like These have elements from most types of engineering.. but to choose one probably mechanical yeah
Unbelievable. Absolutely mad. The 20 foot wall could destroy you if it pops at the wrong time. A climber who can parkour would be absolutely beast in that. Fantastic build, balls the size of a truck.
@@maximilianjohandson3382 Wouldn't say totally safe. I mean, he's not going to die with the rope attached(unless it broke also) but could still injure himself if the gear stopped working.
I really like the way that he seamlessly incorporates the sponsored content into the storyline and makes it more tolerable than stopping the flow of the video with a random ad placement
Mad respect. This is my favorite project you've done so far. Climbing an actual building is insane! What is the theoretical maximum amount of time you would be able to power the pump?
from the video, it looks like he's using 2x 12v mini air pump and 4x 18650 batteries per suction pad. the 18650 batteries must be in series to reach 12v so the total capacity will be of 1 battery, from what i've searched online a similar mini 12v pump uses 7 watts of power, the battery has a 3000mah capacity. So 7W/12V = 0.58amps per pump so 1.16 amps for the 2, the battery being 3000mah or 3ah means that he can probably use it for apx 2.5 hours continuously BUT the computation doesnt add yet the consumption of the arduino and other electronics, efficiency loss, and the real power consumption of the pumps(the motor draws more power if it is experiencing higher load). this is just all theoretical.
Okay, I don't understand how tf people doesn't solve this method when they're trying to do this climbing device, It's portable/mobile and it's insane to see you're the first one to make it happen, it's like seeing a piece of history started. Well done man.
I don't know how but hoping future humanity has tech so we can climb like Spider-Man in real life with no gimmicks/ fake tricks just like how he does with using just fingers/ tip of feet to climb & compact/ portable/ work well
He puts SO MUCH effort into his videos it's insane, he didn't have to climb that building for us, go through all that effort, but he did. This is why I'm subscribed
I remember watching the diy spy gadget vids back before there was even a face reveal, now you've literally climbed a building like Spiderman, living all of our dreams. Hella proud of you man, you're an insane engineer and an awesome content creator. You really inspire all of us to chase our dreams with no hesitation 💙
I might cry... as someone who has also dreamed of spiderman climbers becoming a reality since I was six, this was so special to me. I literally did a double fist to the air and yelled "YES! HE DID IT!!" Thank you so much for making dreams a reality!
This is fascinating, before five years or so I was actually working on climbing like spiderman. I used hot glue, rubber pads, plungers (with vaccum switches), and even hooks. I'd say the rubber pads worked the best but still it's very limited as I could only scale smooth inclined surfaces (lame IK). After several attempts at making web fluids and web-shooters in which some did actually work to an extent, I felt as if I'm losing it as I personally didn't find a LOGICAL REASON for what I'm doing. However, I started working on body strength including grip and core strength which later got me into calisthenics. Watching your spiderman journey on youtube throughout these years, from making web-shooters to outright scaling a building reminds me of my earlier failed projects, but this time with more thought and discipline. Congrats man!!!

This is massively impressive. The only way you can get better with this is some sort of AI and a few hundred of these little suction units. The AI would pretty much know when you are trying to move. You could have a massive surface area from your chest to the entire legs arms and hands. Though this is super awesome and far smaller than all of those other attempts.
It would be cool if he built 4 robotic arms with the suction things
@@maynmattchew4204 I doubt he would wanna put any additional weight on that, they can lift 800 pounds in theory but it's best he dosent try to push what's he's gotten now, especially if he's gonna be doing extremely dangerous climbs.

What makes u wanna climb walls
He made a Thor hammer that shoots lightning already
th-cam.com/video/jdjskWFdKaY/w-d-xo.html
The 10 rings would be easy, just ring drones
He could make the rings huge ring magnets in the opposite direction of each other to repel and open up across the arm. Each one could have a string connected to the next so there's tension and pressure when all rings on one arm are pushed out. 🤷 Would need strong magnets though

@@fxswr1236 cap, being 2 your brain can't even process what's going on in a movie
