We did the Gorden river early 2020.the whole island was covered by smoke from the mainland fires. So seeing this video was great. Walter from Belgium 🇧🇪

Such a beautiful place! We did the cruise back in the 70’s and those cruise boats have been updated a bit since then! That water reflects so clearly……thankyou Mick and Sally for your video looking forward to your next one 😊Norm and Jenny 🇦🇺⛴

We went to Mount Wellington well prepared for any type of weather, lucky we had sunshine all afternoon while there.

Thank you so much for the repeat of two memorable trips I did when down in that area of Tasmania. One thing I enjoyed was the fun sense of humour that most Tasmanian's have when on those trips as it helped to make the day memorable. When we did the train trip it was from Straun to Queenstown where we were staying. The last part of the trip is more boring as you are away from the river & the scrub gets tedious. So I think that your shorter trip would have been more fun, especially as you were supplied by hot drinks etc. Also loved the blankets as we could have done with them. The boat that I traveled on is no longer running by the look of it. I loved Sarah Island & the unique trip we had with our guide around the settlement, it was so funny as he involved us in his narrative. I am looking forward to seeing your next video & what you thought of Queenstown & its environment. Also curious to see what it looks like today fourteen years after I last saw it!

Its a wonderful place have explored the west coast of tas many times but the cruise is way out of most tasmanians budget including apt railway would love to do them but could never afford it thanks for vid from old retired dozer operator down in tasmania ❤❤😊😊

We can appreciate your thoughts on affordability, it is a high cost to do some things there. Had it not been for the fact that we live on the mainland, we too may not have done some of those high cost things that we did do.

It is such a shame that the train does not go all the way to Queenstown anymore. It was a lovely day.

It may very well do the full trip once all of the track maintenance has been completed. The run from the Strahan end only reopened the week before were there for that ride.

Pity anout the train not going to Queenstown. Done it twice and better from Queenstown to Strathn. The river cruise really is the beautiful.

The train tracks were going through a complete maintenance prog, not sure what the will eventually open back up when it is all completed.

The Gordon river is one of those majestic scenery places of the world that is impossible to describe unless you have video/photos to go with your description. Why would anyone want to go overseas when we have this in our backyard. It is nearly 8 years since I was there, and it still seems like last week.
