This may be the best budget hotel ever.
Nailed it. Been staying at Ballys for years. unassuming yet fun and chill, and more importantly value driven. Great location, so you can get your fix at higher end hotels but also has a great mini restaurant and bar area directly in front off the strip and CVS right there If you want to stock up on drinks and snacks for your room.
A place like Bally's is a good place to stay when you are going to Vegas and are going to be out and about the majority of the time and don't care much about staying/spending too much time at your actual hotel. The rooms are good sized it has a large but plain pool with an actual deep end.
The casino is fine too if not very action packed. The location is a big plus it's right in the middle of it all and easy to get around to the major mid strip and moderately north strip properties from there. The hotel just doesn't have all that much to do but basically being connected to Paris next door is a big plus.
Stayed at Ballys in March and returning in December. My trips to Vegas are usually 3 days and I enjoy spending all of it on the strip. Staying at Bally's eliminates the need for Uber or taxis - this makes it a perfect location for a budget.

Sounds like Bally’s strikes a good balancing act between special upscale acccomodations and a down to earth atmosphere so you don’t feel intimidated. Sometimes luxury resorts can be intimidating to the point of making you not feel comfortable there even when you’ve already paid for the room and are a proven guest.
We had the same room, loved it!
We went in March 2021 and it was my husbands first time ever to Vegas and mine since I was 21, I am now 44 and my husband 50. We loved Ballys. We lived in Southern California, so its only a 3 hour drive to Vegas so we went again in July 2021 and stayed at the Flamingo and was super disappointed in the rooms there, will never stay at Flamingo again. We are now living in Sacramento CA and heading back to Vegas in March this year for our Anniversary again, thats why we went in March 2021. We are flying this time because it is now 7 hour drive away. Cant not wait, we will be staying at Ballys again. Yay!

Ballys is indeed a value property with nicely-sized rooms and the recent remodel was much needed. The connection to Paris is a huge benefit, much nicer walk then going onto the Strip via their long, poorly designed main entrance/exit. The Grand Bazaar shops upfront was a good idea in theory, but not executed well. Always nice to have a CVS nearby.
I thought Ballys installed mini refrigerators in their rooms with the remodel. I wonder if one was hiding to the left of the two drawers in that cabinet.
Not every meal should be in a fine dining restaurant. However, I draw the line at Subway. Fast food is fine, but vacations should be a time to try new places. I probably would have ventured over to the sandwich/crepe shop at Paris, or even Lobster Me at the Miracle Mile shops. But I like how spacious the food/retail area is. Mon Ami Gabi is always a solid, reliable restaurant, but excels at breakfast.

No mini fridge - i checked thoroughly. 😎 And mon Ami Gabi was tremendous! I would've never thought that it would be more alluring than Gordon Ramsey Steak or Martarano's, but it was and I can see why. Mon Ami Gabi is an institution.

I like your review video. I love Vegas and I go to Vegas every year sometime for family reunion and sometime by myself. It’s very nice to know which restaurant to dining. I like buffet, but sometimes I want a very good steak houses, just dinning by myself. Thank you for reviewing the hotel, room, and the restaurant.

Nice video! Bally's doesn't get enough love but it's always a fun visit. And you are not wrong about Subway. Subway was my first job as a teenager in the 90s and it used to be amazing (like you remember from your childhood). It's an absolute joke now. You are not alone, good sir.

I haven’t eaten at Mon Ami Gabi in Vegas because I have one here where I live but those views at night are really beautiful from the restaurant and looking out to the strip. Great video!

Love Vegas! Miss Vegas (but not in the summer)! Bally’s remodel looks great. Always enjoy Mon Ami. Please don’t eat at Subway again in Vegas. I’ve also had some good slot hits at Bally’s but under $1000. I notice a lot of locals gambling there. The environment is a little chill compared to other casinos on the strip. Totally agree that it’s a great value and a fantastic location.

The Twilight Zone Day-Glo mini-golf downstairs at Bally's is a fun and inexpensive way to spend some time out of the summer heat. One can usually find Groupon discounts for it as well.

Did a litteral 24 hours in Vegas at Bally's February of 2021 was amazing! (First time in Vegas) Went back for a week this year for our anniversary, didn't stay at Bally's but did see the Extravaganza show in the Jubilee Theater in Bally's awesome family-friendly show. Fun Fact: when it opened 1973 as the MGM Grand, it was the largest hotel on the world
Nothing beats/will ever beat Ramsey Burger. But I agree, Bally's is by far the best value on the strip and I have stayed there a majority of my trips. The location is also perfect.
I still need to try GR Burger. That's the great thing about Vegas - limitless options.

The sports book there was a hidden gem. It's exactly the place to find refuge from other overcrowded sports books. The first thing I thought was wow, this is my new secret sports book spot.

It's location is it biggest draw, never stayed there but have visited the shops and restaurants inside and below. I think you will enjoy it! Just walk over to Paris and you get two casinos and mall type shops in one!

Never stay at Bally’s didn’t realize how much nicer it is on the inside, doesn’t come into my mind to book a room because the exterior is very uninviting also, I’m always tipsy while I’m in Vegas. I stayed at Bally's last week. It was ok; the price was right. I recommend Battista's Italian Restaurant aka Battista's Hole in the Wall. From the Bally's food court exit to the street by Johnny Rockets. Across the street is a liquor store with Battista's next to it. The lasagna is the bomb and the house wines are tasty. The place is dark and cool with a vibe all its own.
Great video. Bally's is a perfect deal if you want center strip on a budget, just stay there to sleep and nothing more . Btw you can use the Paris pool if you stay at Bally's. Also 90% sure you can use the Flamingo pool at least in 2019.

Fun Fact: Bally's is the old MGM Grand hotel. The MGM Grand experienced a deadly fire in 1980 that killed 78 guests, mostly on the upper floors from smoke inhalation/carbon monoxide poisoning.

In a funny way, Subway earned you $1,000 to eat a crappy sandwich! :) But you're spot on, Bally's has a great location and is affordable. Don't expect too much, and you'll enjoy. Mon Ami Gabi is one of the best restaurants my wife and I have ever been to, well worth it! Thanks for video, heard Hard Rock might be buying the property, we'll see....

We stayed at paris last year. Staying at Bally’s next year. We talked about it. She wanted to go back to Paris. To be honest. The caesars rewards were the same for both and we got the room for 25. Paris was 62.

I'm going here for a week in January I've only ever stayed at Sahara before I'm excited to be right In the middle of the strip
I believe the Ballys race and sportsbook was the old MGM Grand movie theater. Wonder if the stadium seating is because they used the same floor plan as the theater. I remember back in the late 80's/early 90's you could watch old black and white movies there - and then eat at Swenson's ice cream parlor afterwards - which I think was where the current food court is.
Can't wait for Bally's Sterling Brunch to come back. Nothing compares...eat there once and you'll remember it for years.

@@Coolist It's pricey and usually requires a reservation. Plan ahead and save room so you get your money's worth. I usually have a super light dinner or skip dinner and have a few snacks to hold me down. Everything served is top notch.
Was only open on Sunday . The not fresh lobster tails and filet mignon made the 120 price worth it.
@@opiatebank Lobster tails didn't even need butter. Lobster ravioli and bisque, lamb ,and steak...the only thing is sushi and fish can be a little dry if you wait too long or don't get a fresh batch. The service is next level as well. I always ask the servers to steer me in the right direction and it never fails.

I stayed at Paris twice and even Harrahs but did go back there for pizza!
Once coolest I went on a globus tours trip in Europe. Great motor coach, awesome tour guide, two weeks traveling from city to city and country to country. Different hotel and restaurant every 1-2 days. Much likehowyou do it. Something to look at if you ever run out of hotels in vegas. I could see you producing 20 separate videos on a trip like that. Globus tours on line. Highly recommend. Never even carried my bag or waited in line anywhere more than 5 min. My mom went twice.
Just came back two weeks ago. Out of all of the Caesar’s Properties, this is the most run down. Lots of weed in the hotel. Friendly staff, cheap rates, just outdated and “tired looking.”
I've noticed you're not a buffet guy and I usually only go to 1 or 2 when I go to Vegas (but only at the higher end places like the Cosmopolitan). However I do want to try the Sterling Brunch buffet they do at the BLT Steakhouse.
I want to try sterling as well! People rave about it. Next time...

Thanks for the info but friends just stay at Bally’s a month ago first thing was that they ordered food to their room and it was horrible when the server/ food runner delivery it it was all over the bag it was like if they have dropped it. And it was 6 different food orders $185 waist of $$$ half of it went to the garbage we told the food runner and she said that they couldn’t do anything about it that they are very short of employees don’t have enough employees to bring u new food so they tried to contact the manager and no luck yea the room-suite was not bad for $575 a night and most of the employees were rude they never cleaned the suite we were going to stay for 5 nights but we canceled 2 nights and went to the MGM and stood there the rest of the days. We us to stay at Bally’s all the time when they had good workers but never again to stay at Bally’s “we don’t recommend “
The only slots jackpot I ever hit in my 25 trips to Vegas over 26 years was at Bally's.

Ballys/Horseshoe is a great hotel, they say its on the 50 yard line of the strip. I have great stays there, just remember sign up for the Caesars rewards for the good prices. keep checking also, the price mite go down.

yes Ballys does do resorts fees of $40 a night, I would really not book with 3rd party apps, sign up with the mgm and caesars rewards and book threw the hotel. can get a room alot cheaper most of the time and if you find a cheaper rate, the hotel should match it.

I stayed here in 2010 first time in Vegas. Much better than I expected too bad the exterior is so ugly. Almost no wow factor but definitely great value, clean and you can’t beat the location.

I'm going to Vegas on Monday and I'm torn between this suite, or the room you were in in Planet Hollywood... are they equally good? The prices are about the same, this room is $40 dollars cheaper than PH in total, for the three nights, this one is $40 cheaper. What do u suggest? Help

Subway has started to suck. They were better when they had no real competition to worry about but ever since places like Jimmy John's and Firehouse Subs started take market share Subway has started cutting corners.
man, had a Firehouse meatball sub the other day and sooooo much better than Subway. I hate to say it but at one time I considered buying my own subway restaurant. After a ton of research, I found out they treat their franchise owners like crap.
Subway killed a lot of great mom & pop sandwich shops. Bastards.

Your best bet is to get a players card, if you're staying at the hotel make sure you're charging everything you can to your room so you can settle at the end of your stay. Best case scenario they comp you for some of the stuff because you're spending in the hotel.

I'm waiting for all of the property venues to be fully opened before I visit. I don't want the partial experience - I want the real deal.
I"m not a fan of the decor change. I miss the fake trees by the Keno lounge. It gave off a cozy vibe. Now everything looks open and more sterile. Just like the Cosmo and Aria. Sterile neutral settings. I miss seeing the dark dungeon like exit of the Imperial Palace. Where the fake lions guard the doors. It seem to me for some reason that they are trying to get people to sit at the bar. They took out a lot of the slots that were up front.
I still have fond memories of Ballys. I still like the casino.
Is this the building that was formerly known as MGM Grand and survived a fire in 1980? Is there a memorial for the victims and firemen?
Truly a beautiful place but it still holds that sad history.

Dude - I try not to be one of those guys that's just a negative Nancy about stuff, but Bally's...Let's be honest, it's an S hole. If you're wanting to stay in your room no doubt the rooms are decent for the price. However if you want to venture out of your room, it's all downhill. I was at Paris a few weeks ago and went over to Bally's because their connected. I almost wish I walked around the outside. It was old, dated, dirty looking, smoky, the restaurant selection was horrible - although the food court was slightly redeeming (you should have tried Nathans, there are Subways on every corner ... how often do you get to try Nathans?). My friend and I walked out the exit by the elevators and passed by no less than two groups of people huddled in doorways doing drugs, and then we were followed by some random weirdo who we thought was gonna jack us until a security vehicle drove by and scared him off. If you have no bar (not a low bar, but literally no bar) to judge other hotels by then Bally's might be worth checking out. However for me, the cheap price and the semi-decent room is not worth the lack of amenities, the overall dated feeling of the casino floor, and the unsafe feeling of walking around right outside the property. Positives are definitely the downstairs "mall" which leads up to the food court, the LaVazza coffee stand (EXCELLENT coffee), and the center strip location. Still not worth it though...spend the few extra dollars and stay at the Flamingo or Planet Hollywood for similar money and a much better overall experience.
Bally's has a very good ITALIAN place in the rear.

Been going to Bally's at least twice a year for the last twenty years. I like it there but they have made alot of changes and not for the good like no buffet and some things are closed during the week. They used to have thee best room service coffee and nice plates and real silverware. But now the coffee sucks and they give you paper plates and plastic forks for me that blows !!
That is a subway in Vegas so they are most likely are going to charge more for a phat sub.
