This video shows How to Add Outline / Stroke to your Images or Videos in DaVinci Resolve 18.
The process is done in the Fusion Tab, but not to worry, as I have also shown how to create a Template so you don't have to repeat the process, every time you want to add a Stroke.

The information in this video is slightly inaccurate. The setup of the nodes of the preset in this video will work just fine if you are going to apply it to a png image straight from the media library. But if there's a green screen that needs to be sorted first, then you will have to add the additional nodes to the preset. This was not mentioned and I found out by tinkering around.
There is a much better and cleaner way to do this by simply plugging the image into the ErodeDilate node and using that alpha to cut out a background which you set to the color of your choice and then merge over the original image. This avoids issues around the edges. You seem like a very smart person Sam and I'd encourage you to do more tests for tutorials like this before you simply use old techniques from other tutorials, which it seems like you did here.
