Well the Rays have finally hit reality years later, the Blue Jays lineup has been inconsistent along with their pitching. And the Sox currently have the best starting rotation E.R.A in all of baseball. But yes still surprising to be fair.

Also, position players achieve those velocities by throwing from a sort of running shuffle that you aren't allowed to do when throwing from the rubber. Very different skillsets overall.

There were more important reasons to have other players in DH than Yoshida for a few days, it had nothing to do with any sort of slight against Yoshida. Besides, Yoshida does poorly when he doesn't get frequent rest. From the mouth of Cora when questioned about it: "Yoshida’s an everyday DH, man. I don’t know what the big deal is. O’Neill had to DH yesterday. Raffy had to DH today. He’ll DH tomorrow. I don’t get it. It just happens that O’Neill came out of the IL and Raffy can’t play third today. So he’s not DH-ing. Our outfield is O’Neill, Wilyer Abreu and Jarren Duran. Yesterday and today, he was ready to play but we can’t play him.”
If this team had a healthy story a healthy casas a healthy Grissom pivetta and bello they would be dangerous it’s unfortunate to see how the season would have played out but that’s baseball unfortunately

They don’t train their bodies to pitch off a rubber so a bunch of max effort throws in a meaningless game is a dumb way to get hurt

Cubs pitcher is actually a position player who was told to pitch because the Cubs ran out of pitchers. He threw 50 mph to avoid injury.
