    I'm so confident in merino clothing, i carried only 2 t-shirts, two undies and two pairs of socks , one midlayer and a jacket for a six week travel in Argentina. It packs so light, i only carried handlugage

      That's awesome! Love the packability of merino too. Hand luggage only is so much less of a hassle than checking in bags for sure! 👍🏽

      Did you have to wash it? How often and why, ie activity level, etc. (No sense of smell here). TIA!

    Wool is a natural fiber and as with all-natural wool/ fur/hair (same thing) have a temperature range from summer to winter temps. Cool in summer, warm in winter. Wash with a neutral soap. Squeeze the water out. Don't wring or you may felt the wool. lay the garment on a towel and roll the towel tightly and squeeze. . At this point the garment will be slightly damp to the tuch and wear able. It will dry on your body in a few minutes. After about 5 washing give the garment a lanolin bath to soften the wool and make it more water resistant, which will decrease drying time and increase evaporation rate. All wool is antimicrobial and antibacterial. That is why they don't smell. You can find lanolin instruction on You tube

    Great video! We wear mostly Merino wool while traveling long term. It performs so well in both cold and hot weather. I have a dress from Wool& (sister to Wool&Prince). 🌺✈️ Heidi

      Hi Heidi, thanks for the watching and for your kind words about the video! So cool that you and your family all wear merino as well 🙌🏽 I've indeed heard of Wool&, and told my wife about it - maybe she'll pick something up from there in the future. You guys have a pretty cool channel and I've subscribed to stay tuned to your adventures! Cheers 😊

    That’s nothing. I wore merino wool socks from Smartwool for 30 days in a stretch without washing them hiking in the Himalayas. They wd smell at the end of the day but always smelt fresh in the morning.

    Problem with Merino is they easily develop holes.

    • @journeyanywear
      @journeyanywear  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In all the merino that I own, I haven't developed any holes yet. Fingers crossed!! 🤞🏽

      I've only experienced holes on thin merino base layers or thin synthetic but all my heavy gauge merino have lasted over 5 years with no holes

    Hygiene is about more than odor. Wash your clothing and stop bragging about lack of stink. Dirty clothes are dirty, smell or not.

    • @journeyanywear
      @journeyanywear  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Totally agree that dirty clothes are dirty! I definitely don't wear these clothes to bed 😂 I wouldn't say I'm bragging though - but rather just sharing my experiences in hopes of providing value to others interested in the same kind of clothes. Thanks for watching! 🙌🏽
