- Cats Does Countdown, Bargain Holidays, Travel Man, Taskmaster... he's certainly no stranger to Channel 4. Joe Wilkinson is a force to be reckoned with, even the likes of Jimmy Carr and Sean Lock can't handle his unique style. Here are some of his best bits from the C4 archive!

Joe Wilkinson is the unsung hero of our times, and Potato In The Hole remains to this day probably the best bit of light entertainment ever performed.
Right up there with Carrot in a Box!
"unsung"? He's on telly mate!
he got a potato in the hole, but it didn't count cause his foot was on the rug... best thing ever rite? That's a bit insulting isn't it?
Joe's "Please don't take it away from me." may be the most sincere sentence ever spoken by a human being.
Joe Wilkinson is the only comedian that could make Sean Lock, known as the comedian's comedian, consistently laugh and break character and that's what makes Joe an amazing comedian. If anyone could make Sean break character it was Joe.
Watching him reduce Sean Lock to absolute hysterical agony is such a joy.
“Please stop” is the only thing Sean could manage to say…Joe had him in stitches! Best Joe W bit ever!
It genuinely my favourite Sean clip.
@@MrVassago89 really? Even though it was a Joe clip? Why do you hate Sean so much?
@@KarmaCadetbecause seeing him be the one in tears for once and still adding to the humour of the situation with “please stop” is a nice change of pace, you twat
Begone with you
@@KarmaCadet how tf does someone saying they enjoy a clip of sean laughing mean they hate him?
The thing everyone forgets about the potato shot is that there are months between the tasks and the studio recording. Joe thought for months that he nailed that shot.
That is shitty…
Or perhaps that's the comedic thing to do.
The part where Sean says “please stop” will never not bust my ribs.
"Police... police...." "Polease stop!" XD
That whole potato toss scenario is iconic and should go down in history as one of British comedy television's greatest moments, right next to the naming willies poem and carrot in a box.
Joe imagined that fireplace was Doc Brown
The potato toss breaks my heart every time 😢 he was so genuinely proud then miserable oof
Jo Is a comedian's comedian...He has a panel of A list comedians crying out in laughter...RIP Sean Lock..
Seeing Sean laughing so hysterically at Joe's poem gives me hope 🙏
Between Sean banging the desk and asking him to stop and Joe not being able to not laugh at his own jokes you know it’s gonna be good
It's great seeing Joe make Katherine genuinely laugh instead of the usual "showbiz" laugh, even if it almost resulted in her peeing herself 😅
I think her laugh at the start is fake tbh
Doc Brown (Ben Smith) really showing the beginnings of Supervisor Blevin in denying Joe his win in the potato toss.
I love how Sean's balloon person looks like Vault Boy hitting middle age 😂😂
Sean Lock as The Ghoul lol
Vault boy Anaphylactic shock version
Have to confess, it took me a long time to "get" Joe and his sense of humour. Now I rate him as one of the best comedians this country has produced. Like has been said in this comment section many times, the genuine laughter he regularly gets from his fellow comedians and especially the late, great Sean Lock, is testament to his genius.
I always love watching Jon and Joe together. No one makes Rico laugh like Fabio’s half brother.
It always makes me happy to see Sean enjoying himself so much listening to Joe's poem. :)
I love how Joe gets comedians to laugh so hard.
did you ever notice Vic or Bob never seem to laugh
@@andrewjohnston2850they aren’t comedians though.
I feel like he and Sean are the only ones to get Jimmy Carr to genuinely laugh to the point where he is in tears.
I have no idea how many times I've seen this, and seeing Sean Lock losing it still makes me cry laughing... Please stop...
I am not a Joe Wilkinson fan, but that poem had me tearing and wheezing. Probably his best work ever.
The level of cruelty of the producers knowing the cliff Joe was going to fall off in studio ... absolutely demonic
Still genuinely pissed off with the potato moment as it's not like he was at risk of winning! 😅
I'd never seen that Wilkinson and Katherine bit. He was hilarious. Had to watch it twice.
This is from a series with them... joe and katherine's bargain holiday
Leave it
The bean museum 😂 I'm amazed they came out alive 🤣
If emma raducanu can get an MBE for winning the us open, joe wilkinson gets one for potato in the hole as well
Vic & bob's reaction to Joe coming on as the Hulk is interesting... probably reminds them of something they might have done...
The Hulk suit cost a fortune apparently
But he made it worth it
This is literally my favourite poem.
Richard seems very relaxed in Joe's presence, almost extra suave even.
Gotta love Joe.
"ooh, thats harsh. that is harsh"
joe side-eyeing him like "you voted against me, didnt you" LMAO
I felt SO bad for Joe when they took the potatoe toss from him. As an Infj I could see and feel _how much_ that meant to him and how truly gutted he was.
Please sir… don't take my potato. 😢
Greatest thing is that, Australia had a premier that ate an onion. Pricing Joe Wilkinson is more normal... than Tony Abbott
Literally ascending the highest highs and plumbing the lowest depths of the entire human experience: Joe+Potato
Two of his best moments right off the bat
I love Joe. I love Jon as well.
Simple as that. Cheers.
"Please stop" @1:48 😂😂
The only way to make the first clip funnier, was that if Miles Jupp or Roisin would have been there instead of Katherine. Joe's poem is an absolute classic
how enriching it must be to be his friend or colleague. Top shelf.
There’s always a golden boy in there somewhere and countdowns has Joe 🙏🏻🤣
Should have his own tv show I think
So so funny, but not controversial
Perfect for modern day comedian material !
Never been pulled for any scandals! Apart 'Being electronically tacked for naming peoples penis' in public toilets' 😂
Any poems that have Shaun Locke crying with laughter is genius !
Thank you Joe for making sean laugh
"A sort of in-built _broken_ predictive text" is the best phrase I've found so far to describe my dyslexia
Here's a life-hack, don't eat while watching the poem, thank me later
What’s the show with David O’Doherty & Joe?
Why didn't Joe take Josh Widdicombe to the Bean museum? He would have really appreciated that.
Joe is fire ... but still miss Sean Lock on cats.
if anyone can make sean lock laugh like that genius
National Treasure 🫅
The nob gag of all nob gags
I keep forgetting that Sean is gone :(
Joe fir prime minister
@7:00
I dunno who the geezer on the end is, but he & Richardson should be ashamed of themselves. I was neutral but I may have just joined Team Lucy.
Truly, Doc Brown's and Jon Richardson's names will live on in ignomy for their actions on that most momentous and ignoble of days.
@@peterclarke7006 Harumph.
That taskmaster show seems to me, an American, as some kind of blatant propaganda to somehow excuse the monarchy as trivial when contrasted against Greg's sadistic despot
Typical British attitude
