Since most of the issue is that incentive to shoot limbs over torso/head because of armor, I think the better balance move would be to have limbs take a lower multiplier of damage (as in, multiply damage suffered from hits on arms/legs by some number less than 1). The reasoning being that the lack of this damage penalty to limbs (that a lot of shooters have) creates this incentive to target limbs to avoid armor and is a problematic aspect impacting the gunplay generally.
Armor just needs to be reworked in general. Or removed if they can't find a good fit for it. I personally have not once ever enjoyed using or shooting armor. I don't think it fits in an arcade game like this. Keep it in the hardcore mode imo

But more seriously, the gameplay design picks out what realistic stuff and unrealistic stuff to incorporate, and this being a vidya game, how 'fun' or 'antifun', with respect to dev interpretations, an implementation of reality is is pretty important on whether it gets plugged into the game. Like the dev's irrational hatred (a perception in which they are anti-fun) towards shotguns when SMGs exist in combination with the game's overall very low ttk. Sure, limb shots are dangerous. But they are relatively less dangerous or at least have a lower 'chance' of being fatal than being shot in the torso. Lotta games incorporate that as a damage penalty to limbs.

I think that the problem lies somewhere else in the game, not in the 2-shot DMR itself - it's about how armor works in this game. Right now you could be a support wearing EXO armor, but you could get 2-shot by M110 if you get hit in the legs (just like the extremely quick engineer with no armor, but at least he can sprint quickly through the battlefield and dodge shots more easily), which is kind of problematic. I think that armor should also work when getting shot in other body parts (not only torso), or there should be reduced damage (like, maybe 80% or 90% of damage or something similar) if getting shot in legs / arms. This would make it 2-shot against unarmored classes, but 3 or even 4-shot kill against heavy armored ones. This would also fix many more issues with gun balancing and make the heavier armors stronger, especially with the current run-and-gun style of the game.
pretty much this, if lets say assault and support were able to fix armor the 2 shot would be way less comon, why? the reasoning is bad incentive to use heavy or exo in general due to the fact after the first engagement you are stuck with slower movespeed without the benefits. Adding leg and limb damage reduction for each class of weapon could also be a way to better balance the weapon classes and make them more distinct. the ranges which this limb meta are more prominent are CQC and at range like 200m+ due to bullet drop starting to effect a lot. L also think medic is still a bit too good so there is a lot of players running around with medic+ranger armor.
I think the M110 is fine, if you miss a single shot at close range you're dead. The two shot gives you a chance against somebody with a more accurate assault rifle or a faster firing smg at range.
honestly i would be fine with them dropping the dmg back to its old 49, while keeping the recoil changes, or maybe bringing the vertical up slightly. i think this gun should be capable of 2 shots only with the heavy/long barrel where the recoil is worse.
I think they just need to buff the vertical recoil and that was it. It is not a popular weapon by a long shot, but lowering the vertical recoil was all it needed to be competitive. I grinded the m110 after hearing about the heavy barrel and the long barrel boosting its damage so it can 2 shot. Now with the buffs. I can just run it without the heavy barrels and run a full vertical recoil build.
While I can see the arguement that it's a bit op to have a two shot kill at all ranges, I still feel like it's within the balance of the game as a whole (currently). When the average ttk below 200m is less than a third of a second and beyond 500m purely instant with a skilled shot, the M110 really only becomes oppressive in that 200-500m gap where assault rifles drop off as well. A good compromise (I feel anyway) would be to start it's damage drop off sooner, but with essentially the same total drop off (if that's independent) bringing it back from 400m to like 200m or even 150m would probably solve a lot of problems; outside of that, armor/limb changes like others have suggested seem the best way forward
Same here! I read he patchnotes and I was like "well I am scared its gonne be too good not needing a heavy barrel... wait... that much horizontal?" They have since nerfed it though post this video being uploaded
Faster TTK than the SVD but with one less shot to land, definitely overtuned. With that said, .400ms TTK is not that inherently OP. I think it could be ok with more recoil. A lot depends on how the attachment rebalance works.
imo normal armors should get reworked/buffed its kinda stupid that they break after getting shot a couple of times without being able to repair or get a new one from the large supply box would finally give ppl a reason to use norm armor over light or ranger (personally i never use norm/heavy armor, they are a literal straight downgrade once broken)
TTK in general should be raised bc it's never gonna be fair regardless. The person who sees the other first will automatically win 99% of the time regardless of the weapon used
IMO, the thing that prevented the M110 from being a beast pre buff was definitely all the handling stats. Prebuff felt a bit unwieldy and slow at close but a menace if left unpressured at a nice spot. Wouldn't want to see it go back to that but having the recoil somewhere between post and prebuff might help put it a back inline
Time to kill in battlebit is relatively low, so I like that a DMR can be 2 shot. It is very strong compared to others of its class, so it definitely needs to be balanced with more recoil for example. I think there should be more 2 hit kill DMRs, with different stats for different playstyles. It makes for a very satisfying gun imo.
After watching this I thought I'd give it a go, your right two shot kills are op. But I really lack aim accuracy so I found my self getting out gunned or I'd miss shots at long distance. Probably needs to be looked at
Neat video as always. The more I spend time playing this game, the more I wonder if the Heavy and long barrel are not part of the problem when it comes to balance. Either the gun needs them to be at pick performance, meaning you will only use those barrel, or you make your gun powerfull enough so that it does not need it and you end up making them redundant (and sometime makes your gun OP).
I have a different set up for this gun but i also play pretty annoying (borderline camping with this gun 😂) -mid range scope - long barrel (for the 10 % increase of bullet velocity and the 99 accuracy also the extra dmg is also nice ) -short magazine ( even with 8 bullets you can kill up to 4 people and with this gun you hit every shot and i am playing always with cover so i never had the problem that i was out of bullet and getting killed i just go into cover reload and two tap the next guys. I hate slow guns so thats why i chose the short mag ) -stabil grip ( for the vertical/horizontal recoil and the first shot kick. I dont know if it is true but my understanding of it is that every shot counts as first shot or atleast if you have a short time between the shots to aim so thats why i am going with the stabil grip but i might be wrong on that ) This gun is an absolute beast with my set up i can comfortably kill moving enemies up until 300 meters and stabil enemies/ snipers even further it absolutely outclasses everything from 100-500 meters and even after that you can compete against snipers
The stabil grip doesn't work with every shot you need to wait for the recoil to fully reset for the benefto come in, but because this gun 2 hits you only really need to worry about the first shots kick anyways, so on the m110 the stabil isn't too bad a choice :)
I like the approach R6 had with DMR's. Maybe they could try something similar, like DMR's breaking bricks or some other unique stuff and keep all of them 3 shot kills max.
i think 2shots is fine, sniper rifles kill in one shot and you cannot react to that at all. in order to compete with things like cracked smgs that still absolutely dominate close and medium ranges the dmrs need the 2shot kill. If SMGs finally get more damage dropoff at medium ranges however then it should get reverted back to to a 3 shot kill
The only thing about Snipers is the shot generally has to be a skill shot, and also if you miss there are mad downsides, but I get you how something can be unreachable and not op
I mean realistically snipers within a 100 to 200m gives you very little time to react due to how many weapons can't kill at that range effectively and plenty of recon are really good up close with medium scope. I think recoil would be the best option. DMR to be dangerous at ranges. But I can see where it feels op.
I think with this current iteration of the m110. It rewards player with decent positioning. But yeah you can run and gun with it and i think thats what makes it a bit more op tbf
FYI I ran with the m110 for a solid 4-6 matches. The gun as an ambush and positioning weapon is hilariously good. I slapped a bipod. a suppressor, and an acog and it did a relatively decent job of holding a choke point (until you shoot all your bullets). Reload speed is a bit too fast imo therefore making it too forgiving.
I really hate suppression debuffs in video games, because most of the time they change your screen and make it harder to see, while also adding a crazy bullet deviation cone, but... Adding a supression effect in the game, with only an increase to recoil would be a good enough nerf to add to the dmrs, and buff to lmgs. It would also be manageable. Meaning with experience you can counteract it. I wouldn't want it to last more than a second, meaning you have to keep suppressing, like the name implies.
I think every gun should be able to 1-shot kill regardless of Armor, which should just make you invisible. Also grenades now heal other players, both good and bad. While flash bang just teleports you to a random vehicle seat in the map that you now have to press + hold down the Exit key to exit.
I think the M110 could use a bit more recoil to balance it. Maybe only a 10 shot magazine but the dmg is fine. If a FAL, SCAR or AK15 are allowed to do 40-45 dmg being full auto a single shot rifle deserves higher dmg. Not much TTK difference in my opinion.
I kinda wanna all or nothing situation with the damage when it comes to the attachments for this gun, either it is always 50+ without the attachments or always sub-50 with any of the attachments. Because I can tolerate gun that are sub optimal without attachments & optimal with attachments, but I don’t like this dynamic it & the pre-buff FAMAS had where it was considered garbage weapons without attachments & only usable weapons with 300 kill unlock attachments. If they aren’t going to tweak the damage though, they should definitely at least slow down the fire rate. Because this Gun might have become what the devs feared might happen with the DMRs back when it was really nerfed. A potential Omni weapon that can kill at all sub 250 ranges with limited trade offs.
Bringing up the RSC 1917 is a good point. In the RSC's case atleast is had a low mag size and was only behind the medic class and not available to any other classes (Not like meta followers arent gonna pick assault with the m110 anyways). Honestly, I'd say revert the dmg and force a heavy barrel for the 2 shots to lock you behind attachments if you want to go that route.
if they're going to gate a gun's viability behind a specific attachment it shouldn't take 330 kills to get that attachment. that's just.... not fun. "use this C tier weapon for hours in a row and if you suffer with it long enough it'll be good eventually" is not my idea of a good weapon balance nor a fun experience which is what playing games is about. make it require heavy barrel to 2 shot if you want to not let it 2 shot with recoil lowering attachments, but make that unlock at like 100 kills then. but then you might as well remove the barrel attachment option and increase recoil to heavy barrel levels.
@@f_i_z Yeah I agree with the Lvl thing and it should be more challenging to do use a 2 tap playstyle. They did try to compensate with nerfs to firerate, horizontal recoil, and mag size. I'd give it a little time these changes are still kinda fresh and theres still more changes coming to the game too (Pistols seem to be next).
The damage needs to stay, I'm fine with increasing recoil, magazine size and reload speed. The damage before meant that you sometimes get punished for hitting headshots on targets because of their helmets (3 shot kill instead of 2 shot kill) I'm not familiar with the exact math but I think this isn't the case anymore and it was absolutely stupid before
I personally want them to implement the armour damage system already and let this gun 3 shot no matter the armour and every shot after a headshot should kill
@@tonomrwong Honestly, an amor system with some amount of bullet penetration (a percentage of damage that bypasses armor) rather than the old system with separate armor and non-armor damages might make some of these harder hitting weapons easier to balance. But everything would probably need to be re-balanced for this to happen.

I was using this gun before the buffs, I liked how I could use it at any range, but it sucked using for a while just because it needed three shots to kill anyone. So I could be accurate twice and just not kill anyone since they will react by the thrid shot or kill me close range. I didn't even notice it was buffed tillw atching this video because I was using long barrel to 'fix' it. If they do change it I'd hope they don't make it horrible to use again, earning nealry 200 kills to use the Long barrel is garbo, and I'd rather not be forced to hit someone with 3 semi-auto shots to kill them from full when a sniper can do it in one, and an smg takes 0.3 seconds to kill from even 100ms out.
I don't like the fact that they cut vertical recoil so much to introduce horizontal recoil (basically randomness). Recoil was fine to me. Hard to use but rewarding if you master it. Now DMR are all easy to use at all ranges and horizontal recoil introduce random innacuracy. It's not about skill anymore. The velocity buff was necessary though
I think you actually have a chance to react against the M110. It depends on your positioning. If you got caught out in the middle of the street or in the open and you start getting shot at by an M110, that's sorta on you for exposing yourself and putting yourself in a terrible position without cover. I've survived a lot of DMR engagements because even if I was running along the street, I stayed close to the building so that when I got shot at, all I had to do was take one of the doorways and get inside. You can also just check your potential threat angles before committing to a run through the open if needed. If you have the mechanical skills, you could always just shoot back. Other than that, I get that there's little chance to react to incoming M110 fire, but the idea for me is to not put yourself in the situation where you're forced to try and react and instead play in a proactive manner with sound positioning, usage of cover, and checking of angles before you commit to movement in the open. DMR's in my opinion, are supposed to excel at controlling long narrow crossings like streets, at threatening anyone who tries to run through an open area with no cover, and threatening someone who is already pinned behind cover should they risk to repeek.
I would really like to try a game mode like this (I love rising storm) but I think this would change the game so much and would be very hard to implement, (maybe modders one day will make this a thing)
@@clutchthecinnamonsergal8493 It's really not that simple, first of all the gun got nerfed from 200ms ttk to a 300 which definitely fixes it being OP, but this video was made before the patch, it had a very competitive TTK requiring only two shots upto 450m, there is no way to predict or counter someone 200m away when you die in 200ms. This is not coming from a place of "Oh I am dying to this gun alot, it's OP" this is coming from "I am insta killing people who literally can't react, and I am doing it all the time" majority of players won't feel this, but those who hit alot of shots will, evidently including the developers who nerfed it
I'm gonna have to disagree on this one maybe just temporarily. I've been waiting for a dmr buff since ea release, cause they were a pain to use. I got 1k kills with the m110 before first prestige and used mostly a suppressor, just so people wouldn't see me and beam me with any other automatic gun that would wreck a dmr user AT DMR RANGES. Especially ak15 and scar users. All the fast smg players airstrafe and run like headless chickens all the time, it's such a easy thing to abuse. And it's not easy to get the third shot on airstrafing players even in the open. Maybe for once this will teach people to take cover and sometimes not play like a gfuel snorting dickhead. Just let it run for a bit and see how many people end up abusing the m110 after 2 weeks (maybe they'll go back to smgs anyways). Cause that's not the only frustrating way to die in this game, it might even reduce the chances of the other frustrating deaths to occur which is a win for now imo. The variety it adds in gameplay is good to see aswell. The more weapon balances have happened since the release the more guns I see in people use in game. The m110 will most likely need a nerf soon, but I'm just saying to let the update run for a bit before jumping to conclusions as these are guns that have been OP before and also useless before too and that shows how difficult balancing can be.
from what I tested and saw until now it is a bit overpowered but it depends on the map I was playing. I tried it in dustydew with a flir and it absolutely destroyed, tho in maps where close quarter combat is more common, I think it was a bit harder to use, maybe the damage buff wasn't needed since you can just add a heavy barrel/long to it.
Can I ask, why do you use canted sights when top sights have no negative stat effects? Are the negative stat effects from canteds just negligible? Or do the stats they effect not really matter? I always run top sights because seeing my stats go down when I equip a canted turns me away, but I do think canteds look cooler and would love to run them.
I just run it because it looks cool :) only time I would defo choose one over the other is if I am using a bolt action sniper, top sights when bolting you cant see through the scope wheras a canted keeps a sight picture while bolting

I don't think it's OP, it's just viable, unlike other DMRs. Recoil and TTK is just fine, and there are still many weapons that beat this gun with no problems. It's fun to use, and it doesn't exceed at anything too much.
@@_monkeman__I find recoil on the mid range scopes so weird in this game! At least on my game the recoil doesn't settle at all and your barrel sticks off and high in one direction and you have to manually drag back down and center again. I've gotten better at it but it's unlike any other fps I've played! In general in all those games I'm a mid range scope kinda guy. Controlling recoil during auto fire is one thing but having to manually correct height and recenter is just so crazy, kinda cool but crazy. In someways it's great because it hugely raises the skill floor. If you get kills, you deserve those kills.
i mean if this gets a damage nerf back to 49 i think that'd be lame, 250 firerate is good for making into into basically a counter sniping tool while making it so you will die if someone with an assault rifle rushes you or like other people said, make limbs take less damage
This is an incredibly biased opinion, the average player (me) doesnt get much out of this. The weapon is just good at a certain range when you have the chance to shoot at an enemy that doesnt see you, any sniper will get you if theyre in better cover or longer range. I dont want nerfs to weapons that genuinely dont need them just because people who are godly with everything think that its OP while everyone else thinks its fine or underpowered
Yeah this is true, my main worry wasn't me dying to this gun alot, but instead players like me using this gun to ruin servers, but that being said maybe people who could abuse this gun might just not use it, meaning that the chance of the gun being annoying in any given match is super low, thank you for this comment it helps give a much needed perspective
firstly, i dont use this gun and probably wont (im an SVD whore) only body armor l3+ and up will stop a .308, and lets be honest. getting shot in the torso with a .308 = you die. get hit in the pelvis = you die. get hit in an arm or leg, and that appendage is lopped off like it was hit with an axe. headshot? youre dead. its a .308. it kills very very good. same with if you were to get hit by a 7.62 nato, or 7.62x54r. youre dead no matter what. whole body parts disintegrate. chest cavities emptied. head and shoulders gone. absolutely nothing wrong with 2 shot kills. especially when i can one shot basically anything with an m200. if anything the whole game needs to be homogenized by caliber. same damage for all 9mm, same damage for all .308 same damage for ALL*'like'* calibers no matter the gun. the guns need to ALSO be reigned in with ranges too. im sorry but a .308 is accurate and effective out past 1km. a 9mm out of an 8" barrel will still kill at 200m. la 5.56 will still drop a man at 600m and on and on and on. theyre BULLETS. they kill. the whole oh this gun does no damage past x range is silly UNLESS they use the real ranges. if i have an ultimax and you have an 8 man squad of vectors and im 100m away, youre ALL DEAD! AND CANT EVEN RETURN EFFECTIVE FIRE BECAUSE IM DOING 29 DAMAGE AND YOURE DOING 9 whole damage IF you can even hit me. make it make sense! your videos are awesome by the way so dont take this as an attack, i just cannot stand some of the logic the devs are using. (30mm/rpgs/tank rounds making APCs do 1080 spins like theyre tony hawk on a half pipe) (adding a FLIR to an ultimax SOMEHOW MAKE THE FIRST SHOT KICK GO UP BY 0.39 and IRL theres no such thing as first shot kick and adding a "heavy" optic is only going to REDUCE FELT RECOIL!) i can go on but this isnt the place. its just silly.

I don't think this gun is too strong necessarily. Particularly right now with the challenges, a lot of people are playing support with armour such that it's a 3 shot kill to the body. In any case, it's still very strong, and almost becomes unfun. I grinded the M110 till the FLIR sight and the playstyle becomes very brain dead and repetitive. Bang bang, dead. Bang bang, dead...
i dont think its op. i mean its kinda bad short range against any smg unless u hit all your shots. i enjoy using the gun quite a bit and it is good. but not op. one recommendation to nerf it could be slower fire rate and slightly higher recoil so that its not as easy to hit 2 fast consecutive shots on a target consistently.
Who cares, Smgs are OP in so many popular fps games, and we just accept that as normal. Why can't just accept an era of DMR supremacy? Not like its unrealistic.
I don't think the stabil grip effects every shot on a semi auto gun, but because the m110 only takes two shots to kill the stabil grip is probably very good

I got a tip for this weapon, use stabil grip to reduce that 1st shot recoil, since you 2 shot kill most of the time, its gonna be really useful.

A good compromise (I feel anyway) would be to start it's damage drop off sooner, but with essentially the same total drop off (if that's independent) bringing it back from 400m to like 200m or even 150m would probably solve a lot of problems; outside of that, armor/limb changes like others have suggested seem the best way forward

IMO, the thing that prevented the M110 from being a beast pre buff was definitely all the handling stats. Prebuff felt a bit unwieldy and slow at close but a menace if left unpressured at a nice spot. Wouldn't want to see it go back to that but having the recoil somewhere between post and prebuff might help put it a back inline
Time to kill in battlebit is relatively low, so I like that a DMR can be 2 shot. It is very strong compared to others of its class, so it definitely needs to be balanced with more recoil for example. I think there should be more 2 hit kill DMRs, with different stats for different playstyles. It makes for a very satisfying gun imo.

After watching this I thought I'd give it a go, your right two shot kills are op. But I really lack aim accuracy so I found my self getting out gunned or I'd miss shots at long distance.

The more I spend time playing this game, the more I wonder if the Heavy and long barrel are not part of the problem when it comes to balance.
Either the gun needs them to be at pick performance, meaning you will only use those barrel, or you make your gun powerfull enough so that it does not need it and you end up making them redundant (and sometime makes your gun OP).
I have a different set up for this gun but i also play pretty annoying (borderline camping with this gun 😂)
-mid range scope
- long barrel (for the 10 % increase of bullet velocity and the 99 accuracy
also the extra dmg is also nice )
-short magazine ( even with 8 bullets you can kill up to 4 people and with this gun you hit every shot and i am playing always with cover so i never had the problem that i was out of bullet and getting killed i just go into cover reload and two tap the next guys. I hate slow guns so thats why i chose the short mag )
-stabil grip ( for the vertical/horizontal recoil and the first shot kick. I dont know if it is true but my understanding of it is that every shot counts as first shot or atleast if you have a short time between the shots to aim so thats why i am going with the stabil grip but i might be wrong on that )
This gun is an absolute beast with my set up i can comfortably kill moving enemies up until 300 meters and stabil enemies/ snipers even further it absolutely outclasses everything from 100-500 meters and even after that you can compete against snipers
The stabil grip doesn't work with every shot you need to wait for the recoil to fully reset for the benefto come in, but because this gun 2 hits you only really need to worry about the first shots kick anyways, so on the m110 the stabil isn't too bad a choice :)

Maybe they could try something similar, like DMR's breaking bricks or some other unique stuff and keep all of them 3 shot kills max.
i think 2shots is fine, sniper rifles kill in one shot and you cannot react to that at all. in order to compete with things like cracked smgs that still absolutely dominate close and medium ranges the dmrs need the 2shot kill. If SMGs finally get more damage dropoff at medium ranges however then it should get reverted back to to a 3 shot kill
The only thing about Snipers is the shot generally has to be a skill shot, and also if you miss there are mad downsides, but I get you how something can be unreachable and not op
I mean realistically snipers within a 100 to 200m gives you very little time to react due to how many weapons can't kill at that range effectively and plenty of recon are really good up close with medium scope. I think recoil would be the best option. DMR to be dangerous at ranges. But I can see where it feels op.
I think with this current iteration of the m110. It rewards player with decent positioning. But yeah you can run and gun with it and i think thats what makes it a bit more op tbf
FYI I ran with the m110 for a solid 4-6 matches. The gun as an ambush and positioning weapon is hilariously good. I slapped a bipod. a suppressor, and an acog and it did a relatively decent job of holding a choke point (until you shoot all your bullets). Reload speed is a bit too fast imo therefore making it too forgiving.
I really hate suppression debuffs in video games, because most of the time they change your screen and make it harder to see, while also adding a crazy bullet deviation cone, but...
Adding a supression effect in the game, with only an increase to recoil would be a good enough nerf to add to the dmrs, and buff to lmgs.
It would also be manageable. Meaning with experience you can counteract it.
I wouldn't want it to last more than a second, meaning you have to keep suppressing, like the name implies.
if they gave it the sniper sweet spot bullet mechanics it could work, low damage short range high damage long range
I think every gun should be able to 1-shot kill regardless of Armor, which should just make you invisible. Also grenades now heal other players, both good and bad. While flash bang just teleports you to a random vehicle seat in the map that you now have to press + hold down the Exit key to exit.

I think the M110 could use a bit more recoil to balance it. Maybe only a 10 shot magazine but the dmg is fine. If a FAL, SCAR or AK15 are allowed to do 40-45 dmg being full auto a single shot rifle deserves higher dmg. Not much TTK difference in my opinion.

I kinda wanna all or nothing situation with the damage when it comes to the attachments for this gun, either it is always 50+ without the attachments or always sub-50 with any of the attachments. Because I can tolerate gun that are sub optimal without attachments & optimal with attachments, but I don’t like this dynamic it & the pre-buff FAMAS had where it was considered garbage weapons without attachments & only usable weapons with 300 kill unlock attachments.
If they aren’t going to tweak the damage though, they should definitely at least slow down the fire rate. Because this Gun might have become what the devs feared might happen with the DMRs back when it was really nerfed. A potential Omni weapon that can kill at all sub 250 ranges with limited trade offs.
Bringing up the RSC 1917 is a good point. In the RSC's case atleast is had a low mag size and was only behind the medic class and not available to any other classes (Not like meta followers arent gonna pick assault with the m110 anyways). Honestly, I'd say revert the dmg and force a heavy barrel for the 2 shots to lock you behind attachments if you want to go that route.
if they're going to gate a gun's viability behind a specific attachment it shouldn't take 330 kills to get that attachment. that's just.... not fun. "use this C tier weapon for hours in a row and if you suffer with it long enough it'll be good eventually" is not my idea of a good weapon balance nor a fun experience which is what playing games is about. make it require heavy barrel to 2 shot if you want to not let it 2 shot with recoil lowering attachments, but make that unlock at like 100 kills then. but then you might as well remove the barrel attachment option and increase recoil to heavy barrel levels.
@@f_i_z Yeah I agree with the Lvl thing and it should be more challenging to do use a 2 tap playstyle. They did try to compensate with nerfs to firerate, horizontal recoil, and mag size. I'd give it a little time these changes are still kinda fresh and theres still more changes coming to the game too (Pistols seem to be next).
The damage needs to stay, I'm fine with increasing recoil, magazine size and reload speed. The damage before meant that you sometimes get punished for hitting headshots on targets because of their helmets (3 shot kill instead of 2 shot kill) I'm not familiar with the exact math but I think this isn't the case anymore and it was absolutely stupid before
I personally want them to implement the armour damage system already and let this gun 3 shot no matter the armour and every shot after a headshot should kill
@@tonomrwong Honestly, an amor system with some amount of bullet penetration (a percentage of damage that bypasses armor) rather than the old system with separate armor and non-armor damages might make some of these harder hitting weapons easier to balance. But everything would probably need to be re-balanced for this to happen.

I was using this gun before the buffs, I liked how I could use it at any range, but it sucked using for a while just because it needed three shots to kill anyone. So I could be accurate twice and just not kill anyone since they will react by the thrid shot or kill me close range. I didn't even notice it was buffed tillw atching this video because I was using long barrel to 'fix' it. If they do change it I'd hope they don't make it horrible to use again, earning nealry 200 kills to use the Long barrel is garbo, and I'd rather not be forced to hit someone with 3 semi-auto shots to kill them from full when a sniper can do it in one, and an smg takes 0.3 seconds to kill from even 100ms out.
I don't like the fact that they cut vertical recoil so much to introduce horizontal recoil (basically randomness). Recoil was fine to me. Hard to use but rewarding if you master it.
Now DMR are all easy to use at all ranges and horizontal recoil introduce random innacuracy. It's not about skill anymore.

I think you actually have a chance to react against the M110. It depends on your positioning. If you got caught out in the middle of the street or in the open and you start getting shot at by an M110, that's sorta on you for exposing yourself and putting yourself in a terrible position without cover. I've survived a lot of DMR engagements because even if I was running along the street, I stayed close to the building so that when I got shot at, all I had to do was take one of the doorways and get inside. You can also just check your potential threat angles before committing to a run through the open if needed. If you have the mechanical skills, you could always just shoot back. Other than that, I get that there's little chance to react to incoming M110 fire, but the idea for me is to not put yourself in the situation where you're forced to try and react and instead play in a proactive manner with sound positioning, usage of cover, and checking of angles before you commit to movement in the open.
DMR's in my opinion, are supposed to excel at controlling long narrow crossings like streets, at threatening anyone who tries to run through an open area with no cover, and threatening someone who is already pinned behind cover should they risk to repeek.

I think every gun should 1-2 shot kill based on hit placement (heart + CNS = instant dead, leg/arm shot allows bandaging) like rising storm
I would really like to try a game mode like this (I love rising storm) but I think this would change the game so much and would be very hard to implement, (maybe modders one day will make this a thing)

This is not coming from a place of "Oh I am dying to this gun alot, it's OP" this is coming from "I am insta killing people who literally can't react, and I am doing it all the time" majority of players won't feel this, but those who hit alot of shots will, evidently including the developers who nerfed it
I'm gonna have to disagree on this one maybe just temporarily. I've been waiting for a dmr buff since ea release, cause they were a pain to use. I got 1k kills with the m110 before first prestige and used mostly a suppressor, just so people wouldn't see me and beam me with any other automatic gun that would wreck a dmr user AT DMR RANGES. Especially ak15 and scar users. All the fast smg players airstrafe and run like headless chickens all the time, it's such a easy thing to abuse. And it's not easy to get the third shot on airstrafing players even in the open. Maybe for once this will teach people to take cover and sometimes not play like a gfuel snorting dickhead. Just let it run for a bit and see how many people end up abusing the m110 after 2 weeks (maybe they'll go back to smgs anyways). Cause that's not the only frustrating way to die in this game, it might even reduce the chances of the other frustrating deaths to occur which is a win for now imo. The variety it adds in gameplay is good to see aswell. The more weapon balances have happened since the release the more guns I see in people use in game. The m110 will most likely need a nerf soon, but I'm just saying to let the update run for a bit before jumping to conclusions as these are guns that have been OP before and also useless before too and that shows how difficult balancing can be.

from what I tested and saw until now it is a bit overpowered but it depends on the map I was playing. I tried it in dustydew with a flir and it absolutely destroyed, tho in maps where close quarter combat is more common, I think it was a bit harder to use, maybe the damage buff wasn't needed since you can just add a heavy barrel/long to it.
I don't think it needs to be touched not many people are running them at the moment i love the DMR changes. So i think they are in a good place.
I'm OK with these changes. It's more annoying to be using a DMR and get outgunned by SMG's at range like it used to be.

Can I ask, why do you use canted sights when top sights have no negative stat effects? Are the negative stat effects from canteds just negligible? Or do the stats they effect not really matter? I always run top sights because seeing my stats go down when I equip a canted turns me away, but I do think canteds look cooler and would love to run them.
I just run it because it looks cool :) only time I would defo choose one over the other is if I am using a bolt action sniper, top sights when bolting you cant see through the scope wheras a canted keeps a sight picture while bolting

I don't think it's OP, it's just viable, unlike other DMRs. Recoil and TTK is just fine, and there are still many weapons that beat this gun with no problems. It's fun to use, and it doesn't exceed at anything too much.

@@_monkeman__I find recoil on the mid range scopes so weird in this game! At least on my game the recoil doesn't settle at all and your barrel sticks off and high in one direction and you have to manually drag back down and center again.
I've gotten better at it but it's unlike any other fps I've played! In general in all those games I'm a mid range scope kinda guy. Controlling recoil during auto fire is one thing but having to manually correct height and recenter is just so crazy, kinda cool but crazy. In someways it's great because it hugely raises the skill floor. If you get kills, you deserve those kills.
i mean if this gets a damage nerf back to 49 i think that'd be lame, 250 firerate is good for making into into basically a counter sniping tool while making it so you will die if someone with an assault rifle rushes you

This is an incredibly biased opinion, the average player (me) doesnt get much out of this. The weapon is just good at a certain range when you have the chance to shoot at an enemy that doesnt see you, any sniper will get you if theyre in better cover or longer range.
I dont want nerfs to weapons that genuinely dont need them just because people who are godly with everything think that its OP while everyone else thinks its fine or underpowered
Yeah this is true, my main worry wasn't me dying to this gun alot, but instead players like me using this gun to ruin servers, but that being said maybe people who could abuse this gun might just not use it, meaning that the chance of the gun being annoying in any given match is super low, thank you for this comment it helps give a much needed perspective

firstly, i dont use this gun and probably wont (im an SVD whore)
only body armor l3+ and up will stop a .308, and lets be honest. getting shot in the torso with a .308 = you die. get hit in the pelvis = you die. get hit in an arm or leg, and that appendage is lopped off like it was hit with an axe. headshot? youre dead.
its a .308. it kills very very good. same with if you were to get hit by a 7.62 nato, or 7.62x54r. youre dead no matter what. whole body parts disintegrate. chest cavities emptied. head and shoulders gone.
absolutely nothing wrong with 2 shot kills. especially when i can one shot basically anything with an m200.
if anything the whole game needs to be homogenized by caliber. same damage for all 9mm, same damage for all .308 same damage for ALL*'like'* calibers no matter the gun.
the guns need to ALSO be reigned in with ranges too. im sorry but a .308 is accurate and effective out past 1km. a 9mm out of an 8" barrel will still kill at 200m. la 5.56 will still drop a man at 600m

I don't think this gun is too strong necessarily. Particularly right now with the challenges, a lot of people are playing support with armour such that it's a 3 shot kill to the body.
In any case, it's still very strong, and almost becomes unfun. I grinded the M110 till the FLIR sight and the playstyle becomes very brain dead and repetitive. Bang bang, dead. Bang bang, dead...

i dont think its op. i mean its kinda bad short range against any smg unless u hit all your shots. i enjoy using the gun quite a bit and it is good. but not op. one recommendation to nerf it could be slower fire rate and slightly higher recoil so that its not as easy to hit 2 fast consecutive shots on a target consistently.
Who cares, Smgs are OP in so many popular fps games, and we just accept that as normal. Why can't just accept an era of DMR supremacy? Not like its unrealistic.
