Just started watching this one and am compelled to mention bidets😂 I've found that we are like-minded in many ways so thought you'd be open to it. I started using one on trail, so I didn't have to pack out nasty toilet paper. I ended up loving it so much that I now use one all the time even at home. Always clean and fresh! 😉 You can get the small ones that attach to water bottles, but I use one I got at REI. It has its own soft rubber bottle and a long stem to 'reach' 😜 Only thing is when stem is collapsed water spills out. They should include a cap that's water tight. I devised one out of a mouthwash cap. Just had to cut it down a bit.

I actually read a book once where they did not finish the trail. I was so disappointed for them but they were at peace with their decision. Glad your feet are feeling better!

You can do this. A few more months, and you will be an AT thru hiker. It sounds like you need a small break to rejuvenate. Also, you are hiking alone and when you meet up with other friends/ hikers you sound like you benefit from a dose of company. You have a great thought process and flexible mindset. You'll find a way to do this.
Remember this...If Grandma Gatewood did it, you can too! ❤

I was surprised that according to the Appalachian Trail Conservancy - only 25% of the more than 3,000 people who attempt the trail each year are successful. Or, 75% don’t actually finish.

I know! It’s really tough to do and not many complete it.
