    That's genius. From Star Trek last week to this. Cool idea to use the Cake Pop moulds for the globes - you get flashing with the cake too. But you can eat that..... Look forward to next week.

    I always enjoy watching your projects, and I have to compliment you on showing your mistake. There are countless TH-camrs out there, regardless of content subject, who never show any of their mistakes and accidents. This project really turned out looking VERY nice. I also wanted to add that your son could probably make a decent amount of money selling that steady rest that he built for you. I'm sure many of your subscribers, myself included, would like to have one for our lathes. I always enjoy live streams, whether it's woodworking, turning, automotive, 3D printing, etc. etc. Maybe you could give one of those steady rests away to one of your live stream viewers, and make it so the winner must be watching and respond in the live chat to win.

  • @b-roll4881
    @b-roll4881 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    WOW you did it again. This turned out amazing. I think that that the reason the colors came out on a angle is when you were pushing down on the mold the blue was hard enough to be pushed on a angle. This is the best part of experimenting with a new product, you end up with a unexpected outcome.
    Keep up the unexpected. That is the joy of life. You sir are one of the best turners on TH-cam. I look forward to making the next awesome project vicariously thru your hands as mine no longer work.
    Cheers from Calgary Alberta

    _Designer Epoxy_ is my jam!
    Love the project! Of course, it's made of a bunch of my favourites like the spheres & the blue/orange combo, but wow, that surprising black obsidian look that glows like swirls of smoke with the light in! Definitely you should do more of these adventurous projects! Look at how amazing they turn out! With your quick thinking and great ideas? No doubt! Plus, with that Designer Epoxy Fast-Cure (that's the new one, right?) and the UV resin in your toolkit, you're set for all sorts of great things ahead!

    Good evening, Jim.
    Wow, you put a lot of thought into this piece. I like the ways you save epoxy. Rice, kitchen bags etc. Every day we learn something. Hearing you trouble shoot keeping the bag out of the epoxy is helpful if others want to try a similar project. The new faster setting Designer Epoxy will be just right in certain applications. Excellent.

  • @peterhobson3262
    @peterhobson3262 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    That hollow form was definitely different. For filling in the voids, you might want to consider just using untinted epoxy, which will give a slight contrast but won't cause any problems trying to match colors. Just a suggestion.

    When you said about lights and a turntable, that's what I had been thinking. Those packs, I believe are also low heat so there would be no risk of distortion of the resin. I did have my doubts at first but that's a lovely form. Just had another thought some lights change colour. Now we really are talking spaceship.
