I am Ukrainian. My country has been invaded by Russia. In this video, I will tell you what happened on the eight-hundred-first day of the war.
Day 801: May 04
Today, there are a lot of updates from the Kherson direction.
Here, the most intense clashes are taking place on the eastern bank of the Dnipro River, namely, in and around the village of Krynky. As you probably remember, Russian forces have been struggling for months to liquidate the Ukrainian foothold on this side of the river. Even though the Russian Ministry of Defense officials have claimed several times that they have dealt with this problem, battles around the village continue, especially between drone operators. Ukrainian forces unleashed the newest weapons provided by the Western partners and increased the pressure on the Russians by raiding multiple command posts, ammunition depots, and drone operator hideouts along the entire contact line as well as the rear.
The Institute for the Study of War stated that both sides are heavily relying on drones and that the most intense clashes are taking place in the sky. A Russian military analyst expressed his discontent that even though Russians are amplifying drone operations, Ukrainian forces have superior electronic warfare systems and flawless coordination between drone and artillery units in the Kherson direction, yielding much better results. In order to intensify their primary efforts to apply further strain on the Russians, Ukrainian forces started to target not only their key positions in the occupied part of the Kherson region but also specifically hunt down enemy drone operators and their ammunition depots.
The first major strike happened southeast of the settlement of Krynky where a Ground Launched Small Diameter Bomb was used by the Ukrainians to destroy a building used by Russian drone operators as a hideout. The footage shows a massive explosion in the northern part of the village.
The next raid was conducted by 36th Marine Brigade forces near Lyubymivka, where a building used as a command post was monitored and targeted after significant enemy activity in and around it. The effects of the strike were monitored live by Ukrainian operators to confirm the successful destruction of the target.
And as if that were not enough, Ukrainians took a step further and even introduced a new weapon - the highly precise French gliding bombs AASM Hammer, which can carry up to 1000 kilograms of explosives, which Ukrainian air forces deploy by using Mig-29 planes. President Macron announced several weeks ago that France would deliver 50 such bombs from the variation AASM-250, which stands for 250 kilograms of explosives, each month to Ukraine.
The first use of this powerful new weapon in the Ukrainian arsenal is confirmed by geolocated footage from Kozachi Laheri. Following persistent around-the-clock Ukrainian surveillance using reconnaissance drones, a Russian command post is identified within the village and subsequently eliminated with a single bomb.
The geolocated footage of the next devastating attack was shared by one of the best Ukrainian drone operator units working in this direction - Madyar Birds and it shows a deadly strike against an enemy drone base and command post in another part of Kozachi Laheri. Initially, Ukrainian drone operators surveil the surroundings of the building, verifying its significance as an enemy base. This base was responsible for coordinating Russian unmanned aerial vehicle efforts in the region. One of the uses was likely targeting the Ukrainian supply routes with boats across the river, which is a crucial part of the Ukrainian effort to keep the foothold in Krynky. This confirmation was established based on observations indicating the building's utilization for resupply by enemy forces. It was immediately attacked with various munitions dropped from drones. However, even after incurring damage, the Russians continued to use it. That is why the Ukrainians finally targeted it with an AASM-250 bomb to finish the work once and for all. The footage presented by the Ukrainian drone operators ends by showing the catastrophic aftermath of the strike and the devastating power of the new weapon.
Overall, Ukrainian forces not only continue to hold the village of Krynky on the other side of the Dnipro River but continue to demonstrate a significant capability to strike Russian command posts...

Ukraine should be supplied with an airforce-worth of fighter aircraft, such as the F-16s and longer-range precision munitions, such as ATACMS (more of them, and the longest-range variants should be provided}), and the russian military facilities inside of russia should be considered legitimate targets. It is worth noting that support for military aid to Ukraine in America is over 80% and increasing. This is because Americans can see that not only is aiding Ukraine the ethical thing to do, it is the practical thing as well. America has spent only approximately 6% of our military budget so far to help Ukraine. However, over half of the russian army has been destroyed. This is a tremendous bargain by any measure! In addition to this, when russia is defeated in this war, their barbaric ideology of imperialism will also be defeated, making Europe a more peaceful, stable place for many generations - as well as preventing a new arms race in the region. That is why billions spent today saves trillions tomorrow. The vast majority of Americans understand this. Americans also want to see Ukrainian military and civilian casualties minimized. This is why Americans are correct to support giving military aid to Ukraine.
Please write to your elected representatives to request this military aid. If you are a US citizen, please consider writing to President Biden and your other elected representatives, and demand Ukraine be given the above weapons - in war-winning quantities, and soon. The sooner we give Ukraine the weapons it needs to liberate all of its territory, the sooner this war will be over, and with fewer Ukrainian casualties. Letters can be submitted electronically via the Whitehouse website. One can also google for ones' elected representatives - many of which have similar websites. One may simply write and submit a letter electronically to make one''s desire known.

There is a new one being created a bit further down the coast. Ukraine recently ousted the Russians from a key island in the Dnipro estuary which will allow a staging post for the next incursion into Russian held territory in the Kherson oblast

Let's keep our cool about this. Everyone got hyped about the summer offensive, and it ended doing more harm to Ukr than good.
The fullness of the aid package might take 1-2 years to mature. And it must by no means by hyped as a savior to the war.
It should just be viewed as business as usual in the grand scheme of thigs.
If the narrative arises that this package is one and done, all that is needed for Ukr to win the war, then we have the exact situation we had last year after the offensive.
Finally arrived, is unprecise. So much so the statement is almost false. Some western help has arrived, some is on its way. But it will still take time, might even be weeks, before the frontlineunits get most of this stuff. But if the bombing reported in this video is indicative of what is to come, Russians on the front is gonna have a very bad time relatively soon.

Ukraine should have been given these weapons two years ago.
They couldn’t have used them 2 years ago. The weapons weren’t adapted to be used on any aircraft in the Ukrainian airforce. The work to get them integrated and Ukrainian forces trained in their use took more than a year.

One correction though, 250 isn't the amount of explosives but the weight of the base bomb, those bombs usually have less weight in explosives due to the metal casing of the bombs.
It can use a 500 lb class Mk 82 bomb body (i.e. 531 lb or 241 kg, hence the 250) with 89 kg of explosives. 1.35 is the TNT equivalent factor for Composition H-6 which the Mk 82 bomb body can use, that comes out to 120.15 kg of TNT equivalent for the AASM-250. For American viewers this is the same bomb body used in the GBU-12 laser guided bomb and GBU-38 JDAM.

Not to mention the rocket booster that differentiates these from other western glide bombs, though I don't know that that weight would necessarily be included in the ordinance classification. The fact that these can be more effectively employed in low altitude lob and scoot attack runs, due to their boost-glide profile, is the real reason that 50 a month is potentially meaningful.
@@sir_vix Those classes usually use just the rounded up base bomb weight. 500 lb class Mk 82 are 259.93 lb, 1000 lb class Mk 83 are 985.03 lb, and 2000 lb class Mk 84 are 1,970.05 lb. Similar for Soviet era FAB bombs (e.g. 1500 kg FAB-1500M-46 weighting ~1400 kg). GBU-12, GBU-38 are still 500 lb class weapons because of the base bomb. Though there are bombs like the SDB which doesn't use a parent bomb and is kinda its own class.

My Prediction is that once Russia is forced out of Crimea, they’ll focus all their efforts on making and maintaining their gains anywhere and everywhere they can that’s directly connected by land to Russia and/or Belarus. Once Crimea is retaken by Ukraine, pretty much everything of Russia’s by the black and azov seas would be all but forfeit.
(Pro-Russian/Anti-Ukraine comments can bite by [REDACTED] and waste their breath elsewhere.)
i believe crimea is "extra" fortified and taking it back wont be done in a couple of days, however pressing there might oblige the russians to pull troops from the north and have them use their logistical routes.... that still arent secured. Or who knows ukraine seems to always be smart with their plans

Not quite. It has taken this long to increase the production lines, often with completely new factories. We also don't know what the stockpiles in Europe are.
France and Germany refused to accept the UK and US intelligence until Russian boots were on Ukraine's ground. Had they listened to, and acted on the warnings coming from the former Eastern bloc countries in the EU, this may well have been avoided altogether. It meant most Western European nations have moved from a standing start.

@nicktecky55 It has taken too long. Had we acted decisively and given Ukraine what she needed from the start, this war might be over. Too many decision makers were listening to Russian propaganda rather than to the likes of Generals Hodges, Keane, and Breedlove. Tucker Carlson, with his pathological hatred of Ukraine and adoration of Putin, has done significant damage to a worthy cause. However, I am hopeful that he and Moscow Marge are losing credibility, and the West is coming around.
The latest diversions to cause pause in Russia's efforts in the East. Better yet if they can widen and deepen this foot hold with this diversion. Ukraine should request those large US AAVs to support this region.
I was thinking about this myself why here? The UA marines are a token to force Russia to keep more soldiers and "stuff" here. why use such 'expensive' munitions there unless you're going for a full amphibious invasion? It would seem to be better to use them to blunt Russian attacks in Donetsk?????

@@liamwhelehan2703 It's all about deception and tying down forces. Everyone thinks it's impossible due to logistics of the river crossing. Maybe a feint, but if punches here achieves a fold, they'd take it, just far enough to choke the route out of Crimea to more seriously tie down more Russian efforts and relieve pressure elsewhere.

Excellent work, as always. Just a minor clarification, the 250 kg designation is the nominal weight class of the bomb, not the amount of explosives contained. The AASM 250 has an actual weight of 340 kg, of which approximately 89 kg is explosives. The weight varies depending on the type of bomb that the guidance unit is attached to.
