We use 2019 Professional, so the 2019 community is fine with the cBot extension, but the latest version 2022 will be supported in the next update of cTrader which is available soon.
Tradingview is developing in a very fast rate I admit, however the most important factor (IMHO) for a programming language to reach a wide audience is very good debugging/watch system which is easy to use. This simple tool will allow newbies to get familiar with the language by learning through their errors. Tradingview's language concept relies heavily on Series which itself spins beginners heads around (who then write excessive amount of FOR loops until the concept clicks). Combining with the above, Tradingview should have developed this debug/watch system in the first place, but unfortunately this tool is nonexistent in their ecosystem. And as a result, people are trying to jury rig something that can display a simple variable's value at a certain candle to understand how they messed up their series or in what obscure way Tradingview handles variable classes, not to mention special Events. The other options is to poke the system until the coderuns fine...
Great video breakdown. I've got heavy experience in both MT4 and Tradingview , but none with cTrader. How is cTrader in regards to available history and MTF indicator development? Hitting some ceilings with TradingView functionality in developing and coding some accurate non-repainting systems. Would you recommend migrating to cTrader?
cTrader is far better for algorithmic development, it uses Microsoft C# and has the power of the NET framework as well as external mathematical languages. If you have any further questions post here: ctrader.info
