It’s both hilarious and sad about the way Flint accidentally humiliate himself in public. However, it was still important for Flint to not get the promotion because he doesn’t need it because Chester V and the company were villains all along and Flint had to be taught a valuable lesson for valuing his friends, family, and his passion of inventing more than trying to live up to the company that wasn’t good all along.

To be fair. He lost to a guy who made a zero emissions car that runs off cute. I'd have given him the win too even if flint did discover portal travel.
Flint managed to make a device that creates stable wormholes that can transport food. Not just that but said wormhole seemed to only require one device rather than like two separate but linked wormhole devices. I genuinely think that is far more ground breaking even for Live Corp cause think of how quickly you could transport all those food bars.
