Can I Beat a White 2 Hardcore Nuzlocke Using ONLY Monkeys?

In this Hardcore Nuzlocke of Pokemon White 2, Mike tries to beat the game with a team composed of monkey Pokemon. Is it possible for these primates to persist through their perilous predicament?

Monkeys Only Ruleset:
1. We can only use Pokemon with a monkey or ape-like appearance.
2. Instead of catching encounters in-game, we will receive a random encounter in each of the gym cities.
3. If a Pokemon faints, it is considered dead and must be released.
4. We must play on Set mode and cannot use healing items in battle.
5. We cannot level our Pokemon higher than the level of the next Boss Trainer's Ace Pokemon.

2:01 Fun fact time. Ape is actually a subgroup of monkey, (even though the everyday use of the word “monkey” is basically “non-ape simian”) so it’s entirely accurate to call the run “monkey only” even when including ape-like Pokemon.

Hey, it's Andrew. Yep, this is true cladistically, in a sort of "all squares are rectangles but not all rectangles are squares" sense. This also applies to birds and dinosaurs, tetrapods and fish, and down the line to our first shared ancestor!
I actually initially had a bit about this in the script, but removed it for time. But at the end of the day, we wanted to make a joke out of the point that apes as a group have distinct features, so I wasn't too sad to see it go.
Even if apes are nested in the same clade as monkeys, they're very unique and I think it's great if more people can learn about those differences! So even if you can call an ape a monkey--or maybe more accurately, a simian--I think we gain more understanding by using both terms and making the distinctions better understood in the general consciousness :)

Don't worry- challenge mode actually makes the game easier for hardcore nuzlocking because it makes the level cap higher without actually increasing the stats of enemy trainers!

Cheren would be quite a lot easier in Challenge mode since the level cap is 14 and such you could have a Monferno with Mach Punch for the first gym.

Fun fact Challenge mode is glitched. It raises the level cap while keeping the normal mode stats, its actually EASIER to Nuzlock challenge mode because of this fact

So the improved movesets, items and additional pokémon don't make up for the higher level caps? In that case, funny that challenge mode, a feature people love to tout, is bugged and is easier than the main game.

2:40 - 3:05 You missed the greatest evolutionary example of Mankey being a monkey, while PrimeAPE is an ape. I also think monke refers to apes in meme community - the original monke was an ape (orangutan).
