Don't worry- challenge mode actually makes the game easier for hardcore nuzlocking because it makes the level cap higher without actually increasing the stats of enemy trainers!

Hey, it's Andrew. Yep, this is true cladistically, in a sort of "all squares are rectangles but not all rectangles are squares" sense. This also applies to birds and dinosaurs, tetrapods and fish, and down the line to our first shared ancestor! I actually initially had a bit about this in the script, but removed it for time. But at the end of the day, we wanted to make a joke out of the point that apes as a group have distinct features, so I wasn't too sad to see it go. Even if apes are nested in the same clade as monkeys, they're very unique and I think it's great if more people can learn about those differences! So even if you can call an ape a monkey--or maybe more accurately, a simian--I think we gain more understanding by using both terms and making the distinctions better understood in the general consciousness :)

So the improved movesets, items and additional pokémon don't make up for the higher level caps? In that case, funny that challenge mode, a feature people love to tout, is bugged and is easier than the main game.
2:40 - 3:05 You missed the greatest evolutionary example of Mankey being a monkey, while PrimeAPE is an ape. I also think monke refers to apes in meme community - the original monke was an ape (orangutan).

Cheren would be quite a lot easier in Challenge mode since the level cap is 14 and such you could have a Monferno with Mach Punch for the first gym.
