Full disclosure, Russ: I watched this video on my Android cellphone, not an HD television or computer screen with a high-speed Internet connection. That said, I must agree with some of the other commenters, especially Michael Sedgwick and TennMark. While the highway signage was now consistently readable (unlike in the past with your other camera[s]), the scenery appeared to be pixelating as it transitioned from far-to-near; almost constantly affected was the vegetation. The roadway exhibited the same signs on and off as you drove. On the other hand, your drone footage was spot on as usual. Thought you might like the feed back. Never get tired of seeing the burros, they remind me of the jackasses in my family (Can I say that without being censored by TH-cam?)
Thank you for sharing this beautiful historic relic. I live just south of Route 66 near Grand Lake Oklahoma. I am just twenty minutes from Mickey Mantle's hometown of Commerce Oklahoma. He was the Commerce Comet and a Yankee legend.
Lol!! I'm not even quite halfway through and I keep having the theme song from Route 66 playing in my head over and over and over! The whole background of this everything hahaha and I think it's great!
Thanks Russ for a great few months of fantastic scenary and interesting places. If we could get on a plane now we'd be straight over to Wyoming as that just looks breathtaking. Keep healthy as without you things would be much more difficult for us to cope. All the best from Elaine and Kevin in the UK.
I never made it to Oatman while I lived in Bullhead 😕 if I saw this video it would have been a priority. Love the aerials what a beautiful place and I missed out on beautiful flowers. 🙁 Thank you. 💞👍
My first visit to America was a coast to coast trip from Santa Monica to NYC. We used as much of Route 66 as was possible and my abiding memory of the journey was the glorious stretch between Oatman and Kingman. Welcome back to Arizona Russ.
Thank You! I was toying with the idea of mounting on the outside. Wondered about speed and safety line. You have given the advantages/disadvantages of inside and outside.
Thanks for the ride up Route 66 and the tutorial, Russ! When I retire in a few years and go full-timing, I want to make videos just for myself. That way I can watch them when I get too old to travel and reminisce. I agree with the others about the pixilation; you can really tell it around 22 minutes when looking at the vehicle you're following and also the burros going into Oatman.
All roads lead to deluxe doughnuts? (lure those miners from underground!). Have a Happy Day! That new go pro seems to add better depth! Can see right through the valley of death!
Wow, the Hero9 does a GREAT job! So clear and sharp and detailed! Of course that intense sunlight you get in Arizona helped. Now I can actually tell the difference between the GoPro and the camera in the drone! You're the real hero, Russ! I can't wait to see where you're taking us next. The journey continues! Talk soon!
That's a neat drive, pretty. Definitely a little scary on those dropoffs. Like the mules of Oatman. Camera and drone footage clear. Enjoyed. TY. Be safe. 😊👍
QUESTION??????? RUSS, HAVE YOU HEARD OF THE LOST DUTCHMAN MINE IN THE SUPERSTITION MOUNTAINS????????????? I saw a video about it and was wondering if it is true. Will you please answer this question if you know. Thanks for taking me along on this beautiful trip. I just love the burros and how tame they are. So keep on doing what you do and I will keep watching. That vacation journey this summer was spectacular. It would be worth another trip because there is so much that we did not see. It really helped get many of us through this crappy plandemic. I am so sorry that this was released on us and many people lost lives. For that I am truly sorry. So this was a great help. Stay safe and healthy out there and keep the cameras rolling. Happy trails and adventuring. Excited to see you and the buggy out and about. Thanks for sharing
Cool little camera. A little too rich for my blood. I got my Hero 5 as a gift and still rocking it. It has its limitations, but it still hangs in there. Thanks for taking us along for the ride.
I very much enjoy your travel videos through Small Town USA. Very positive vibes in all your videos. Look me up next time you’re in Sturgis. I have the photo store downtown.
Hi Russ, New camera works fine for me, hey it's what you use and are comfortable with, nuff said. I enjoyed the 'live chat' Sunday evening. It's a great way to really connect with us viewers. Just a note for those wanting to come and see Oatman and the burrows. The shops in town sell the food for you to feed them. DO NOT bring your own! Last year we brought carrots with us and just as soon as we handed them out here came the locals stopping us. They were nice and explained carrots were causing diabetes as they we high in sugars. Also if you bring a dog keep them close as the burrows will charge them.
Like many others, we saw the blotchie image on the roadway surface. Hope you can get it tweaked up better. Your drone video is rock solid and awesomely clear (or clearly awesome). We appreciate your work, Russ. Thanks!
We were there in Oatman last November enjoyed the town the ambience history awesome trip we went and came to different directions had to go back and eat at the salon to see all the dollars on the walls and of course to stick one of ours up there I would recommend the trip highly
Someday I want to take US 20 all the way from the Oregon coast to downtown Boston. I've been on close to half of it, but I missed some significant portions. Longest continuously numbered highway in the US.
Bought an Insta 360 One R, twin edition before my trip to Glacier, Yellowstone, and Grand Teton. Love the quality, and the ability to shoot in 360!! But the best thing is the software. You just shoot, and later you can pick the aspect ratio, stabilization, and bit rate.. with the 360 mod, you just shoot, and can reframe in software.. Look to the front, side, back, top or bottom after you shoot. I have GoPro cameras, but the Insta 360 is my favorite!
Cool video Russ! Have always wanted to drive what's left of Route 66 from Missouri out to California. Also drive PCH from California to Washington. Maybe someday. Take Care and can't wait for the next great video!👍😃
Needles is calling....pity the border has you all kept in these days Stay safe...and keep up these great little tours..,...we won't make it down this year from Canada...wonder why.......
Hay, Rusty you just sold yourself a new Gopro. I'm looking to do some video blogging an this is what I'm. looking to do. All of your videos are sharp & crisp. Audio is great also.
Have watched all your video's and have been looking at the go pro 9---keep me informed on the camera--maybe i will buy if you say it is a good camera---until then I will just sit back and enjoy the ride and have a Pepsi
Good morning Russ glad you made it home safe and I do like the new video with a GoPro nine I was wondering what kind of editing program do you use and could you send me the name of it thanks
Hey Russ. I’ve got a good one for you. My son texted me that he was going to Grand Canyon. I told him to go on Scenic 12. Go to Horseshoe Bend and the ruins. He said he didn’t have the time on this trip. So when he starts posting on Insta, guess where he was? Yup...Horseshoe Bend, the ruins.....Thanks to RVer TV, mama knows best!
Be careful in some states with your camera mounted directly in drivers view. Roof mounted the gopro9 looks good from mid screen up but from mid screen down it's having a problem with focus on the fast moving ground.
The video does not have any fade on the bottom, That seems like a better picture. I noticed when you were going through Yosemite the picture on the bottom of the screen seem to fade in and out.
Love the new GoPro 9 whether it's on the dash or on the roof, although roof mount is a bit clearer. It might have been my imagination, but it looked like a bit wider view than previous camera. Anyways, I enjoy your trips. My wife & I watched the Idaho & Washington part of the 2020 Virtual Vacation first because we live in Eastern WA. Now we're watching the rest of the series in order.
Around 1958 we would go through needles I remember we took HW 66 travel ing to NC. Later than that like 1970 or 75 I came up here with hubby and kids I think there was an old jail , and in back of it was a spot where they hung people. Many years probably olden days lol. I’m sure they may have torn it down or maybe it could still be there as a history area.
Seemed to be out of focus down on the roadway, but got better towards the end. Maybe just a problem in the video rendering. To really test it, might want to use two different cameras mounted on the dash in the same video.
I stayed in Bullhead city for a while and riding my motorcycle through Oatman to Coolsprings was one of my favorite things to do, it was the only twisty road around. Krazy Ray was the owner operator of Coolsprings at the time. I kind of like Ray he was a bullshitter that's for sure. They had a explosion scene for the movie universal soldier there at cool springs, a Claud Vandam movie.
Much better camera resolution with the 9 model. I hope you will keep using it. The little "spot" in the upper left hand corner from the other camera is now gone. Thanks!
for your camera mounts outside, why use a magnet mount instead of a suction cup mount? and how do you record your audio? have you tried an adhesive mount outside? I love these videos.
To be honest, I like it when you film with your phone! You can zoom in and out and the picture is so sharp and clear....but this new Hero 9 is pretty good. It seems a lot clearer than your go pro 8. Ha! That’s just my thoughts! Any way you look at it....you do a great job Russ! Always enjoy your trips and videos! Thank you!💕🙏☮️

Great Job !!
Always enjoy this drive. Camera's good, too.
The new camera looks great on my big TV.😀
Thanks. I was just thinking I couldn’t drive that road and then you mentioned heights. Definitely not me
Thank you for sharing this beautiful historic relic. I live just south of Route 66 near Grand Lake Oklahoma. I am just twenty minutes from Mickey Mantle's hometown of Commerce Oklahoma. He was the Commerce Comet and a Yankee legend.
Thanks for showing how you use the GoPro's. I need to learn.
We love Oatman, and we really enjoy your trips there. Love the donkeys and the gunfighters ❤️.

So looking forward to driving back! I was there last June during Covid.

I never get tired of Oatman. Thanks!
Much clearer, better color quality 👌

Thanks for the awesome scenic drive!
Fun ride. I've never rode on Route 66 until now. Thanks
Well Russ, the video pictures were fabulously clear & vivid!!!! Keep up the good travels as many of us enjoy the open road too!!!
Wow that was cool!!! The camera made me feel like I was driving, had a few YIKES around the turns !!! Lol that town was really neat!!
That Hero9 is really clear, when you drive psst road signs they can be read very clearly now 👌
Hey Russ, that trucks horn sounded like yours..lol.
I love those little burrows so cute.
Take care
Larry & Linda
Thank You!

The video looked clear, stable and had good color. It’s definitely higher quality that my display, an inexpensive ipad
Did that drive about 5 years ago, such a great little town with the burrows. Thanks again.
Beautiful drive.
The nine looks fine 😃👍 Seems very vivid & clear. The previous camera has a dark spot in the upper-left section.
Wow, awesome video, one of your best.....
All roads lead to deluxe doughnuts? (lure those miners from underground!). Have a Happy Day! That new go pro seems to add better depth! Can see right through the valley of death!
great cam, no glare, no tint!!
Great little ride and on my bucket list along with your top 10 from this past summer. Love the drone shots
New camera works great. Nice drive. I enjoyed it. Be Safe!
Hi Russ, great aerial shots as usual and a very beautiful ride. Really enjoyed it Thanks
Hi Russ , thanks for the drive along , we have noticed that the centre of video is always distorted, but the colours are fantastic
The adventure continues..😀😀😀
Wow, the Hero9 does a GREAT job! So clear and sharp and detailed! Of course that intense sunlight you get in Arizona helped. Now I can actually tell the difference between the GoPro and the camera in the drone!
You're the real hero, Russ! I can't wait to see where you're taking us next. The journey continues! Talk soon!
Hey Russ, sorry to miss your live chat yesterday. Maybe next time. 🍸🍸🍸
Just went through Oatman last Friday, always stop at Judy's for a cold beer and a visit with the locals
That's a neat drive, pretty. Definitely a little scary on those dropoffs. Like the mules of Oatman. Camera and drone footage clear. Enjoyed. TY. Be safe. 😊👍
Love Oatman! Follow a couple of groups from there. Been there once but ready to get back out there!
Nice ride Russ! I like the view from the new go pro!

Lost Dutchman stories are very popular and some say true. I have not been there myself

Enjoyed the video thanks for sharing Russ!🇺🇸👍🤠

Thanks for posting such a beautiful and detailed video. Would love to visit and roadtrip along hwy66 one day. Greetings from England!

Thanks for showing the Go Pro 9... seems better... love your channel and I may visit Quartzite this year.
I have the GoPro 9 myself. it just arrived this evening. I like the color better than my old 7, big plus is the larger battery
Good. JOb. Russ

Actually looks awesome!
you took the scenic route to oatman from phoenix. I did it once, that was enough. It was slow going.
Good video quality but what kind of Mike’s or are you using? or are you doing voiceover? either way it sounds great like a pro!!
Good morning Russ glad you made it home safe and I do like the new video with a GoPro nine I was wondering what kind of editing program do you use and could you send me the name of it thanks

GoPro Hero 9 video definitely looks great, colors and stabilization. Any plans to start rendering in 4K?
Be careful in some states with your camera mounted directly in drivers view. Roof mounted the gopro9 looks good from mid screen up but from mid screen down it's having a problem with focus on the fast moving ground.
It's the RVerTV vacation tour 2020 restart !! YaY
Love the route was just there in Aug..however the camera was very blurry 😔
I never knew wild burros.
The video does not have any fade on the bottom, That seems like a better picture. I noticed when you were going through Yosemite the picture on the bottom of the screen seem to fade in and out.

“Get your kicks on Route 66” 🎶🎤
try snapmount, its much better than suction mount.
I love your drone shots, I'd look like I have Parkinsons.

I was wondering if you've done or are thinking of doing the entire Route 66 from L.A. to Chicago?
Beautiful..what is that huge A Frame building on top of the hill in Oatman?
Thank you so much for your amazing video clip!!!
Could you please tell us about your drone's name and model?
Is there a spot to pull over to go up those stairs?
I stayed in Bullhead city for a while and riding my motorcycle through Oatman to Coolsprings was one of my favorite things to do, it was the only twisty road around. magnet holds the best and can be placed anywhere. i have tried them all. haha - Thank you
Thank you for the reply my friend, I'm trying to perfect my Go pro rig. all information is useful.
To be honest, I like it when you film with your phone! You can zoom in and out and the picture is so sharp and clear....but this new Hero 9 is pretty good. It seems a lot clearer than your go pro 8. What and where did you get your magnet stand for your hero?
I done the oatman hwy trip a few years ago in a 30ft RV..😉...got a bit hairy in places...👍😂😂🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
What are the mining ?
