    Impressive. You would probably have a broken rib but you would survive

  • @survivalconcerns515

    Green tip is M855 or SS109.
    M193 is 55grain FMJ at 3200+ fps.
    As some asked about 243, it would punch this plate, as would M855A1.

      @@crunch9876 watch some "BUFMAN RANGE" videos he has them all to compare. the M855A1 is a steel tip on a copper base. M955 is solid tungsten. the armys new bullet for other than on USA soil use. AKA 556 black tip.

      They now claim to stop M855A1 with this plate. Whether it is due to product iteration or they finally tested it. Edit: This is incorrect, I was thinking of the ESRT Ultra thin plate from RMA. @Pilot-- corrected me.

    This is very impressive for its weight. But I think I would add a trauma pad behind it, maybe 2 lol.

    • @Davidautofull
      @Davidautofull 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      watch buffman range. he tests them all and sometimes uses a soft 3A backer. but that may negate the savings.

  • @thriftysurvivor6117

    Even though I think this is well worth considering, that 308 bulge in the back may still have produced lethal trauma to the wearer even though it didn't pass trough. Blunt trauma also kills. All that being said, at 2.5 pounds per plate, I think these are well worth considering, and the price isn't at all bad when compared to the cost of other rifle rated soft body armor.

      Do you think you would die from the recoil? Because that's roughly how much energy is hitting the armor.

    • @thriftysurvivor6117
      @thriftysurvivor6117 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@LarsLarsen77 No, that's not true. If it were there would be no reason to add trauma plates behind your body armor. Shooting my 30-06 has never bruised me, but if I were at the receiving end of the projectile, that would be a whole other story. 308 still retains over 2,400 foot pounds of energy at 50 yards. That's the amount of energy that is hitting the armor at 50 yards. If that were hitting your shoulder, you'd suffer way more than a bruise, and I've never had a bruise from shooting my 30-06.

      some people may not do it on purpose but the numbers are deceptive.
      the 8x10 plate is 2.5 lbs and $275. but you pay by the inch.
      10x12 and 11x14 are not a lot but more. cost and weight. up to ahh $375????
      its on the WMA site.

    I hate to break the 69 comment number, but wanted to say, I'm saving up for these plates. Pricey, but awesome. Currently around $350 per plate. Edit: I was thinking of a different RMA plate, the ESRT Ultra-Thin plate. The 2.5 lb level IIIA+ is going for $250.

      military only has 5 different kinds of ammo for small arms and im going to guess that you actually own 4 of them.
