Been subscribed to you for, like, 9 years. I used to be a left-leaning Democrat. I've become politically homeless since 2020. TH-cam sends me conservative stuff and it's not always "high quality." So I had already seen that dude's video before you posted this reaction. He drives me nuts. I commented in defense of you on that guy's video last weekend, mentioning how his followers would have admired how much you didn't give a damn when the BLM mob went after you four years ago. But then I just decided to delete my comment so as not to give his channel any more attention than it was getting. I think for some meat-loving conservatives, "woke" means "any left leaning cause." Vegan? Woke. Environmentalist? Woke. Pro-Choice? Woke. Exotic hair dyes? Woke. I don't appreciate it, because I think "woke" is more precisely when someone has fallen into the Identity Trap, a la Yascha Mounk's book by the same name. To me, that's been very detrimental to us all, and muddying the waters doesn't help.
Re: the dairy cows thing: my parents live (but do not work) on a dairy farm 6 months out of the year. The cows do have access to outside, but most of them prefer inside. They get milked voluntarily; there is no way to force them into the milking conveyer belt. They do selective insemination, so they don't ever have male calfs unless they're purposefully breeding for a bull. The mothers reject their babies almost instantly. I am not saying it's a perfect utopia of cow, don't get me wrong. They still butcher cows after they stop producing, and selectively breeding out a maternal instinct is horrifying, etc.
I actually love almond milk and prefer the waterness Swayze is describing. Soy milk gives me a stomachache unless it's in soy yoghurt. I'm not a fan of oat or coconut milks unless they're in coffee or needed in a recipe I'm making.
Look. In terms of nutrition, there need not be a milk *substitute.* All the milk substitutes exist for culinary reasons, not for nutritional ones. Also, comparing commercial plant-milk products with dairy milk is not the same as comparing veganism with non-veganism. One can make one’s own milk at home (easily!) that would be far superior to store-bought plant milks. If one really wants to create a nutritious plant milk, it’s just not that hard. Just blend some nuts, a B12 tablet, a pinch of salt, vanilla powder, and water, and there - plant milk. Unlike dairy, nuts and seeds are actually supposed to be a part of one’s diet for optimal health. It is pathetic how some people desperately try to come up with what they hope are insurmountable barriers for veganism in order to feel justified in not becoming vegan.
As a child I didn’t like cows milk I didn’t drink it. Looking back I had aversions to dairy in soooo many ways. It doesn’t surprise me I went Vegan. The signs were all there.
Call me old fashioned, but "meltdown" usually implies some sort of emotional reaction? These excerpts are pretty mild. If they had said "woke ASMR" I would have maybe bought it, but "meltdown?" Nah.
Taste-wise, oat milk is my favorite as far as plant-based milk goes. But also there's this banana milk you can get now that's pretty good (though the color is a little on the gray side).
I'm on the Right, I guess-at least, it doesn't seem at all difficult to define "woke" to me / I think markets are generally effective at price-setting / I love guns / I loathe the milquetoast modern Left with a bottomless roiling hatred hotter than ten thousand suns / etc... you know, normal stuff-but this is one area wherein I cannot stand my putative allies. It seems so clear to me that animal agriculture as we practice it today¹ is utterly unjustifiable; the evidence is clear on questions of animal suffering, how similar it is to our own, and the nutritional value of hamburger & growth hormone... ...and there is essentially no moral argument to justify feasting upon dead animals that doesn't *also* justify eating our own-except "here's an unprincipled exception"... or "God said it's fine".² I think most of my fellow Rightoids take an approach to politics very similar to the one we love to complain about: "it's all about _who? whom?_ to them!", we angrily accuse the Left. Well, it's a human universal, then, because there's _no way_ y'all would be defending this twisted stuff if it weren't a knee-jerk "well my enemies endorse it, so I hate it!" Very disappointing, t'me. Probably the one thing that could drive me back leftward, actually; if the question of animal ag ever becomes a main part of the political debate, well... my own worries over price controls & not being able to lovingly fondle firearms might have to take a back-seat. Make conditions 1% better, decrease hot-dog sales even 1%, and already-multiplied out-that's enough suffering prevented to outweigh any other consideration, for me personally anyway. It tears at my heart to think of it. ----------------------- ¹: _(or "at all", really-but today's version is so ridiculously horrendous that it is _*_truly_*_ mind-boggling that anyone can justify it, even to themselves.)_ ²: (...and if someone finds either of those convincing, it suddenly becomes clear why they don't mind factory farming: they're not very good at thinkin'.)
I'm similar, I consider myself right on some issues and left on others. I used to be more right wing overall, and I used to love all those silly _SJWs owned by FACTS and LOGIC_ videos (we all have our cringey guilty pleasures, okay). But yeah rightoids are so ridiculous on some issues, anything like climate change, animal ethics, etc. And that genre of video got so popular that it's become oversaturated with people desperately trying to find stuff to label as "woke meltdowns", and as a result it's just gotten ridiculously stupid.
@orirune3079 Word; makes me a little bitter, because I had the idea "hey I'm gonna make an 'own the wokies!' channel!" like five or six years ago at least... but because I'm me, the High King of Missing-the-Boat and Crown Prince of Laziness, I didn't. And now the genre is oversaturated & dumb. :'( lol
@6:30 but this is comparing it to whole cows milk. Before being a vegan, I thought whole milk was gross (too thick) and prefered 2% and skim, depending on the application. So of course Almond milk was my choice for my formerly 2% milk and cereal. We're talking about weaned adult mammals here. He realizes that outside of infancy we don't need any milk at all. We can get all the calcium and protein we need from non-dairy sources. Consuming it is a choice and I choose to not take from the calves that actually need it to live.
Just after the video I got an ad for cheese, by the biggest dairy company in Finland that bought up Planti (it started under Raisio, a mill, was then owned by Norwegian Kavli, that puts profits in Kavli fund). Is that an issue in the US too that big dairy buys up plant mylk makers? Another big brand in Europe Alpro is owned by Danone, in addition to it beign dairy they invest in Isrly food startups.
Hooray! You're "awake" and not asleep! Now, this young man is claiming that actress in the dairy ad was just joking and having a bit of fun? Big mutli-billion dollar industrial groups are now paying for endorsements and ads just so they can interject some humor into the public discourse? How altruistic of them! No, I suppose he also feels the comedian at the Trump rally in Madison Square Garden, who referred to Puerto Rico in a very disparaging way, was also just joking and the outrage that followed was too "woke." This rhetorical device to dismiss dissenting voices is called "appeal to ridicule" and it is common among people who can't take the trouble or are unable to argue more effectively.
Sat down to watch this while eating lunch; imagine my shock seeing myself at 2:05! 😂This guy really roasted our complete and utter (pun intended) meltdowns! 🫠

This whole “point & laugh at the sensitive vegans” thing is gonna age like milk one day. Reminds me of that simpsons bully “Haha, you care that our planet is dying!”
It’s really annoying that milk is literally and figuratively shoved down our throats even though people literally have ALLERGIES to milk. What if this happened with peanuts? What if this happened with any other allergen????
It really does suck that my political side is so anti vegan. Not sure how to win them over. I am always surprised that as the side of family values, and large families and stuff the party isnt more into environmental protection.
We don't need milk anyway. We have been led to believe our whole lives that cows milk is essential for our health that if we try to replace it with something else then we are doing something so awful.
It's easy to do a right wing video. You just find anything that might be controversial. It does not even need to be controversial. then you hopefully find someone who comes down on the "why are we still doing this" side of things, or at least the side of things that is traditionally or conventionally associated with the left, like being anti war, pro social services, pro libertarian attitudes toward alternative sexualities, gender identities, lifestyles, etc. But the number of people on that side does not need to be significant. In fact they don't even need to exist, and the problem/controversy, situation does not need to exist, or can be grossly misrepresented or exaggerated. You can be going after people who want to put kitty litter boxes in elementary schools to cater to trans-species 5th graders, people who want to force straight people into same sex marriages, people who want to make murder legal to reduce the number of people of color in prison, the vampires oligarchy who secretly run the world no matter who is president, as long if that person is not Donald Trump, people who want to outlaw white men speaking in public college classrooms, etc. Then you just point at that thing and laugh like a 10th grader bullying a 9th grader for wearing the wrong brand of jeans, and then you complain that the target does not have a sense of humor.
Woke is now used as an insult because the opposite is asleep, like when you decide to ignore reality. For them is bad to see reality and act. I'd be more offended if somebody tells me, you're asleep person!
I am curious about your thoughts regarding cashews and the cruelty that is inherent in farming them. If a food is especially cruel to humans to provide it, is it still considered vegan.
I love milk. I love Aubrey plaza. I’m not vegan but I support your decisions and find it very respectful. I do wish there was a kinder way to get milk without hurting cows. Weirdly I’m a slight milk addict, I would literally milk cows myself. Regardless I admire unnatural vegan and love her ability to use logic and cool thinking in her arguments. I wish more ppl were like her, even if she disagrees with my decision to consume cows milk.
very good video. dividing into only two sides in politics at general is one of the biggest challenges for democracy in the usa. if you would ask me, it’s one of the main reasons should the usa fail democracy over the next decade(s) or century. kulturkampf is not a good way to live by.
@14:00 Then stop getting them pregnant just to take the baby away so you, a grown adult, can steal from a baby. Pretty sure she would rather not do any of that or just raise her baby to adulthood in a herd and not be an object for consumers. I asked my mother (of 4 kids) why she didn't produce milk anymore and how she would start again just to get her thinking about the cow and how her body is not respected, but used by strangers.
The last thing veganism needs is to be partisan towards specific politics. I, too, believe that veganism ought to be accessible to everyone, and it hurts my soul when vegans and non-vegans alike make judgments like, "you're from [insert demographic here], therefore you are never welcome in the vegan community." People who would have given veganism a chance end up becoming turned off instead.
Good video, thanks. That dairy ad video was sent in a WhatsApp cousins' group by a cousin who looves to share anything at all that belittles or makes fun of vegans and veganism. Cheap thrills for the group, mostly overweight/obese and/or ill people all non vegan or non vegetarian and all heavily into dairy products. Including two diehard vegan baiters. Oh well.
I appreciate this. I don't think we align politically, but I'm also not one who is gonna attack people for that. I just think it's funny when both sides act like the other is a snowflake for x,y,z when often they're on both sides if you look for them lol. But I agree with you on this. The add was not funny or even very clever. I think if she "wood" have written it herself it may have been better 😂
I know this wasn’t the point of this video but… I am shocked to hear your BLM and intersectionality takes. Im disappointed to hear that not because of “teams” but because, to me, veganism is a holistic philosophy of being anti-cruelty and anti-exploitation, and anti-k*lling obviously - police brutality and m*rder is exactly the type of thing vegans should be vehemently against. I don’t see how or why I would only care about cruelty against animals and not humans? That thought is quite gross to me and honestly seems hypocritical. Morals are morals, why would we pick and choose when to apply them?
To clarify, I know you said you support BLM, but I strongly disagree with your stance that we should compartmentalise our activism - cross cause solidarity has been the key to bolstering so many movements, especially when those causes share an underlying philosophy, and often it brings more people over. Someone who is already vegan is more likely to understand BLM and be moved to support that cause, and someone who supports BLM is probably more likely than a conservative to understand veganism. I feel our activism and goals should be informed by a moral framework and not single outcomes, as that will actually promote cultural mind shifts imo
"Challenges their rigid worldview" Ugh, isn't your channel constantly being attacked by vegans because you challenge veganism whilst being vegan? People call you "fake vegan" out of spite. There's nothing rigid about that.

@@thatwasweird954 oh, so she saying Trump is the traitor as America?
Go outside
Using the veggie disparagement laws against the man, Booyah
I can only digest soy milk, oat milk gives me indigestion.
Yeah, I'm basically looking for "white liquid for cereal, coffee, and tea" so almond milk comes out at about the cheapest for me.
I love that soy milk has very similar macros to dairy
Seeing Vegan Gaze in that clip too. Wow times flies.
Love the Bokogoblin drawing in the back ❤ definitely some top talent there 👌
i somehow missed this ad AND your original video haha this title def intrugued me to watch your video now!
Seeing this video made me realize I've been watching you a really long time!
Funny how he says that you guys can’t take a joke, but he has no sense of humor. Zero humor.
These same people rioted due to a single can of bud light…..
I love how he showed some of the most mild vegan TH-camrs and classified you guys as “overreacting.”
It seems so clear to me that animal agriculture as we practice it today¹ is utterly unjustifiable; the evidence is clear on questions of animal suffering, how similar it is to our own, and the nutritional value of hamburger & growth hormone...
...and there is essentially no moral argument to justify feasting upon dead animals that doesn't *also* justify eating our own-except "here's an unprincipled exception"... or "God said it's fine".²
I think most of my fellow Rightoids take an approach to politics very similar to the one we love to complain about: "it's all about _who? whom?_ to them!", we angrily accuse the Left. Well, it's a human universal, then, because there's _no way_ y'all would be defending this twisted stuff if it weren't a knee-jerk "well my enemies endorse it, so I hate it!"
Very disappointing, t'me.
-----------------------
¹: _(or "at all", really-but today's version is so ridiculously horrendous that it is _*_truly_*_ mind-boggling that anyone can justify it, even to themselves.)_
²: (...and if someone finds either of those convincing, it suddenly becomes clear why they don't mind factory farming: they're not very good at thinkin'.)
:'( lol
I tried to find this channel so I could argue in the comments and couldn't. It's good to know this nonsense is buried deep.
Is this what woke looks like today? Lol. I think you're just plain level-headed. ❤
Swayzo i used to pronounce Swayze without the e similar to 'suede' ...
Sat down to watch this while eating lunch; imagine my shock seeing myself at 2:05! 😂This guy really roasted our complete and utter (pun intended) meltdowns! 🫠
6:00 I didn't see any discussion in the ad comparing nutritional aspects. I thought it was just all shock.
It's funny how they always refer to us as snowflakes, yet they are always the most sensitive when we mention veganism at all lol
I am a fan of you and your channel and I voted for Trump. I did not vote for a “trader to the country.” For someone so smart that was a very ignorant comment.
Food52 started a series that was obviously paid for by big dairy.
Plant based milk vs cow milk. One word. Mucus
I loved your woke meltdown 😂 please have another one soon ❤
13:15 WTF 😂LMAO
I think for these people caring about the planet or animals is very "woke". Generally caring about any real problem for them is woke.
You're one of the most intelligent content creators! ❤❤❤ Love listening to you
It's easy to do a right wing video. Then you just point at that thing and laugh like a 10th grader bullying a 9th grader for wearing the wrong brand of jeans, and then you complain that the target does not have a sense of humor.
the shade at 1:09 had me lol
Woke is now used as an insult because the opposite is asleep, like when you decide to ignore reality. For them is bad to see reality and act. I'd be more offended if somebody tells me, you're asleep person!
Well now it’s time to go back to your original vid covering the ad & cringe with a good laugh 😂
I would consider you woke, fellow woke person! 😊❤
10:05 Silk sells an "extra creamy" almond milk that I like.
I am curious about your thoughts regarding cashews and the cruelty that is inherent in farming them. If a food is especially cruel to humans to provide it, is it still considered vegan.
Is that a blue bokoblin with some gloom hands on the wall? So cute!
There's a little yiga blade master, too!
Not a fan of almond milk. Or oat milk for that matter. Soy milk, hemp , flax , rice , coconut will do just fine for me
I think people just underestimate how bad cowmilk is for the environment, since it's not meat. 😅😢
How dare you interrupt neckbeard's coma with your logic!
I think I counted a total of two blinks from the guy during the entire video, and one was more of a half wink. Weird psycho.
Literally what does being vegan have to do with being 'woke' or 'left'?
I love these rebels being activists for lobbies and corporations. Woke people are sheep tho.
Haha i call almond milk "salty nut water" 😅
(We use oat and soy milk 😊)
Coconut milk is so underrated
I love milk. I love Aubrey plaza. I’m not vegan but I support your decisions and find it very respectful. I do wish there was a kinder way to get milk without hurting cows. Weirdly I’m a slight milk addict, I would literally milk cows myself. Regardless I admire unnatural vegan and love her ability to use logic and cool thinking in her arguments. I wish more ppl were like her, even if she disagrees with my decision to consume cows milk.
Milk is for babies. Any adult drinking milk should be considered a creep, if you really think about it.
very good video.
dividing into only two sides in politics at general is one of the biggest challenges for democracy in the usa. if you would ask me, it’s one of the main reasons should the usa fail democracy over the next decade(s) or century. kulturkampf is not a good way to live by.
i fear that our good bro is applying the term meltdown somewhat liberally
Sigh, now they will call you based: almond milk is not very nice, in my opinion too.
White veganism vs Black veganism dosen't help anyone, especially the animals.
Omg are they calling it human milk ? Um no
Ah, the right wing, calling all calm debate "meltdown", and calling anyone else "rigid" on their worldviews. Cute if not tired.
It's woke to call people woke.
13:57 Oh God 😂
It's kind of scummy to be anti traitor.
Great video!
Ugh. "Real" milk because human breastmilk is...water? Eyeroll.
"Challenges their rigid worldview"
Ugh, isn't your channel constantly being attacked by vegans because you challenge veganism whilst being vegan? People call you "fake vegan" out of spite. There's nothing rigid about that.
This guy is just acting like it was a funny exaggerated SNL sketch. It was an ad - I think that’s what most people have a problem with.
What did she mean when she said some conservative support a traitor to the country? I’m not really familiar with the TH-cam channel. She reacted to and I’m not American so I think I’m missing something.
People loyal to trump after his followers stormed the capital on January 6
She's disparaging Trump supporters. She's not the best at inclusiveness on her channel when it comes to vegans of varying political views and takes swipes at conservatives (and people of faith) pretty regularly. Even reacting to this tiny, clickbait TH-cam channel (with only 11,000 subs) and acting like this dude represents conservatives is pretty unhelpful.
@@thatwasweird954 oh, so she saying Trump is the traitor as America? I mean personally I am left leaning, and I am against him as a presidential candidate but I can see how painting all conservatives like that is a bad thing. I also have issues with the way she talks about religion and people of face in general. It’s interesting because she says she wants her channel to be safe for anyone with different political beliefs and I don’t necessarily see her as super left-leaning progressive either.
@@thatwasweird954Trump is a traitor. When the shoe fits…
@@nikanh9946 Yeah, I don't see her as super left-leaning either. (She actually lost a bunch of followers years back because she criticised anti-capitalist vegans.) And I agree with you, that I could do without the snarky slights against people of faith. Oh, well. To be a follower of her channel you have to have thick skin. Which I do. So I stick around because I appreciate her uncommon takes on vegan issues.
This is the most disappointing woke meltdown I've ever seen. You need to do better. I'm triggered.
