The trick with wrapping the velvet on the sides around the trim pieces was the most creative thing I've seen on DIY furniture flips in a LONG time. They turned out beautiful!!!!!!!!
These two pieces are definitely no longer ugly ducklings, but elegant swans. The do not look like they ever lived life as a desk. Just beautiful! Hope you win for these.

Love that idea. Was thinking that depending on your style you could use different fabric, maybe even the shapes of the wood. I was thinking burlap or dropcloth.
Well done. Very nice. I love how people bring in what they say is a “new style” when in reality they’ve just changed the name of an old style. Dark academia is a style that was popular in the late 1800’s. A very gothic Victorian style. I live in a 300 year old house in England and it has been in this dark academia style for years. The house even comes with a huge library that is my favourite room. It has dark oak built in floor to ceiling book shelves, a huge stone fireplace with dark oak mantle and dark burgundy coloured leather furniture and floor to ceiling velvet curtains. But the walls throughout the house are dark stained oak as well. It was the norm at the time the house was built. Many people don’t like the dark style but I think it is warm and luxurious.

The liquid leaf was the perfect amount of polish or glam for the purple velvet !! What a cute story of your daughter getting paint on her hand!! Was she upset when she realized what had happened!! It would have been fun to have seen her reaction!!

I agree with you on having purple as my favorite color but not decorating with it except as pops of color. With that being said, I redid my kitchen, and I used a dusty purple for the walls below my white cabinets with turquoise accessories. Love it and have received loads of positive compliments.

The cac that lowea has an opps adea where you can get those samples for $1 is great. Yes you have to grab the xolors theyvalready are but its great!

Absolutely! I actually went to college for elementary education before I did youtube. My family is mostly kinesthetic learners but one of my daughters is an auditory/visual learner. She remembers everything she reads and hears! Lucky! It's pretty amazing.
The liquid gold color is on sale for $4.99 at hobby lobby and i am so glad i get tonsee it being used so i know if it works well or not sndnits beautiful! I hope its still on sell when i am able to purchase it. I have a couple pieces to work on but i have been nervous to start and have tried watching many channels to make sure im soing things correctly
