sometimes the most significant events in a genre are only recognized after the fact. with their obtuse chord voicings and compositions - voivod are already on par in terms of innovation with contemporaries like tool and meshuggah. neither of which have gotten the treatment of having their work presented by an orchestra of this magnitude (as far as i'm aware). this show is the bleeding edge of the art form.
