This has got to be one of the most impressive breakdowns of a complete house construction! I can relate! Price for my basement construction doubled between 2020 and 2022! $93k on HVAC. Lumber $470k I expected. $211k for concrete is bonkers! Drywall is another painful cost! I can’t wait to visit. Congratulations and what a momentous achievement!
My dad thought I was lying about how much James spent on lumber, but when I showed him if kinda had a heartattak lol.

Im in California and I'm pretty shocked by how low some of these prices seem... Some of them seem appropriate, but that excavation for example...

Not uncommon in Toronto to tear down a house that is a few years old and rebuild just to have a different style. They tear down in a day. Giant backhoe with a big claw comes in and takes it down one big bite at a time. Makes sense when you are tearing down old modest homes, but they also tear down mansions.
