The De Agostini cuts were variable in quality and mostly inferior to 1980s pressings. The exceptions were Please Please Me, which is pretty decent and has beautiful original style black and gold labels, and Help! which actually is one of the best sounding cuts of the album available. The Anthology and BBC discs are much of a muchness as the source material wasn't that good to start with so you may just as well have the De Agostini ones if you don't already own a copy. I paid about £10 a record on eBay for my De Agostini discs and some were sealed with the booklets and some weren't but, all the sellers I dealt with were completely transparent in their dealings and mentioned any creasing on sleeves and whether or not they came with the booklets. I bought a copy of Rubber Soul and that had the white residue / scuffing on the vinyl. I didn't blame the seller as it was a sealed copy but when I told him about it he sent me a replacement and said I could dispose of the other copy. Not all eBay sellers are unreasonable.
I have just discovered these and I have 3 so far With The Beatles and Beatles For Sale. All brand new one just had a booklet Beatles For but I got them for under £20. HMV are over-pricing Beatles albums for some reason. Thank you for a very good video.
Interesting video. By the way I heard you saying that you have two copies of AHDN? Are either of these copies with flawed beginning? i.e. the so slightly clipped opening chord of the title track missing?
I just got a job of 10 sealed Bob Dylan ones, £5 each, the corners were slightly damaged but I can’t complain, they sound great to my ears, I have some original presses to compare them to.
The DeAgostini pressings of the Dylan albums are the same as the Sony/Columibia pressings you can buy in any record store with the addition of the hologram sticker on the rear. They are excellent pressings especially Bringing It All Back Home, Highway 61 Revisited and Blonde On Blonde which are the 2017 mono remaster, they are sourced from DSD and pressed at GZ in the Czech Republic. If you're after the Dylan albums they are an absolute bargain. Most come without the backing card if you're buying them from eBay, simply because they were stuck to the card in the country they were sold.
Hi, just to clarify, only those LPs sold through shops had the backing card. If, like me, you bought mail order as a subscriber you just received the LP and booklet. Many times the LPs were received with damage and replacements were provided. Also A hard. days Night LP had a missed opening cord, this was replaced with a new remaster press, but only provided to those who complained! Of course, as a subscriber we got the storage boxes and numerous gifts!
10:10 Would jave been nicer if the booklets were numbered in order rather than all mixed up. How do you bind them .... DeAg numerical order or original release order?
Hiya I collected this deagostini Beatles collection I was in hospital an out of action fr a while an missed issues 6 an 7 yellow submarine an magical mystery tour can u get dem fr me or cud I obtain dem wit th booklet to complete my collection Jimmy pluck tallaght Dublin
New subscriber here. And I'm with you on all your points but these deagostini issues are NOT DMM (direct metal masters). They are standard masters just a special run for deagostini. Essentially exactly the same as the 2012 discs made from the same digital master tapes but mastered again just for deagostini

Understood though I made the point that the eBay sellers had the cards In The photo of the listing.
@@MatthewNorthMusic exactly , you should get what is presented in the photo on an eBay sale unless it’s specifically stated .

I just have the core albums and I keep the booklet in the LP sleeve I have now acquired a deagostini box and a few more Lps only need let it be now
At my local Walmart in California, the Revolver 2012 stereo pressing was $19.99 and that's about what they are worth to me.
Sound quality??
Also 2016-7 Deagostini Beatles pressings do mark and scuff up more easily than the 2012 original counter parts.
Yep they do come pre scuffed !!
I Have the complete collection including all inserts etc for sale...
I have every single deagonstini beatles record from that run, all of them unopened and in good nick if you're keen lol

you are correct, i think i said 'I think they look like DMM but i could be wrong, but yes they are recuts.
Don't put your records in pvc.
Fine if stored in a cool place saying that I have been moving over to polyethylene.
All of them are mastered by mpo france and they wipe the floor with the abbey rd efforts
Anyone who is familiar with the stripey rambles TH-cam channel know deagostini is not a name to be trusted.
